ANI marked resolved edit

I marked this ANI discussion resolved based on what appears to be a mutually agreed-to solution. Note: I am not an administrator. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:48, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

As a friend, I'm asking you to show some maturity on the site. People will take you more seriously if you do that. And tell Jeff to leave pages on fish alone! haha --FancyMustard (talk) 19:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Continuation of discussion over notability of Ohio high school sports conferences edit

Hello. You are receiving this message because you recently participated in an AfD discussion regarding the notability of high school sports conferences in Ohio State. While the AfD has been closed as no consensus, the discussion is continuing here. You are invited to participate. Thank you. --Jaysweet (talk) 20:17, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Golf infobox flags edit

There was discussion a while ago and the consensus was not to put flags in the golf tournament infoboxes.Tewapack (talk) 22:01, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image:1987OpenLogo.jpg edit

I replaced the version you uploaded with a scaled-down version. It is suitable for use in the infobox for 1987 U.S. Open Golf Championship. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 21:15, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have been travelling all day and returned to your message. Do you have anything important that you want to say to me?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 22:23, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Golf images edit

I invite you to make sure all golf-related images are appropriately tagged. I also invite you to make sure that all non-free images, such as flags and logs, are appropriately sized - the size specified in the [[Image:...]] use on the page, the size specified in a template such as an infobox, or 300 pixels wide, whichever is less. 300 pixels corresponds to the largest "default" width for images that a user can put in his preferences. No non-free image should be larger than that except in rare cases where 1) the image usage explicitly states a larger size and 2) using a larger size can be justified for fair use. About the only examples I can think of are photographs or paintings where 300 pixesl wide would not show enough detail to uniquely identify the painting or allow criticism or commentary that appears in the article. This is uncommon in general and virtually unheard of with logos.

In the case of 1987 U.S. Open Golf Championship, I chose 150 pixels wide because in the infobox, it says image=[[Image:1987OpenLogo.jpg|150px]].

If you need help learning how to do this, I'll be happy to teach you. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 00:59, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Following up to my own comment: I see from a comment from June 16 that somewhere there is a discussion that says there is a consensus not to use flags in infoboxes. I would encourage you to find that discussion and read it. If there is such a consensus, then the flags should not be used in infoboxes. This may mean that some of the golf-related logos that are tournament flags will have to be deleted from Wikipedia. Get in touch with User:Tewapack/User talk:Tewapack if you need help tracking down that discussion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 01:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

You have to include a fair use rationale. The copyright tag is not a rationale. §hep¡Talk to me! 05:18, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Then explain to me how to put them there. You know other logos exist. Merely putting them up for deletion isn't right. --BurpTheBaby (Talk) 05:20, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
The message I gave you, which your promptly deleted. Explained exactly how to fix the issue. §hep¡Talk to me! 05:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
No it didn't. It said include this. How do you include this fair use rational? Davidwr on the 1987 logo just simply wrote the reason as I did in the edit summary and you did not re-add the deletion tag to that logo. --BurpTheBaby (Talk) 05:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Seems I missed one then. And I quote: "Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale." If you follow the link given fair use rationale that page explains what needs to be done. §hep¡Talk to me! 05:30, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alright, well I'm going to need a night of sleep to digest all those instructions. Please don't relist them for a couple days. I'll make the appropriate edits. Have a good one. --BurpTheBaby (Talk) 05:32, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Might I suggest using Image:2008OpenLogo.gif as a good model for these logos. §hep¡Talk to me! 05:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's been a week. What's up? §hep¡Talk to me! 20:51, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Why don't you fix your articles? You've completely ignored them since the original AfD was sent to the project page. --BurpTheBaby (Talk) 02:49, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
This isn't about articles but violations of copyright. PS Thanks for notifying of all the discussions you started about this. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:27, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can find them in my contribs as you are clearly stalking me. --BurpTheBaby (Talk) 06:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Golf logos edit

Re talking to Ryan on the logos, is has been my experience that many people are happy to say "yes you can use it", but are less happy to go to the trouble of writing to Wikipedia and issuing a formal permission. Could you email him, asking him to endorse a statement that he releases all images located at (can't remember the web address) under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license. That way he only has to say yes and reply. You should include a link to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ so he knows what he is agreeing to. Kevin (talk) 04:31, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

New York State Routes edit

See my reply on SandyGeorgia's talk page. I find it quite outrageous that I'm being badgered for working on articles that you personally believe are meaningless, and I would appreciate if you would cease doing so. Thank you. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 00:15, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Note edit

This, against the consensus of AfD and the article's talk page, is unacceptable. WP:BOLD does not apply here. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 16:32, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
