Do not indent

edit

Indenting (having a space or spaces before text) in articles creates a shaded box that is reserved for quotation. So, don't indent. David notMD (talk) 16:20, 30 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks!

edit

Thank you, David notMD. BTW, what is quotation?Sparklestern (talk) 17:58, 19 July 2021 (UTC) Short quotes require quotation marks. There are ways to indent a longish section of text, to indicate that it is a quote (which must also be referenced). See Wikipedia:Quotations, and how to use blockquote. Don't Mess With Me, Mrs. Nagatoro! moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Don't Mess With Me, Mrs. Nagatoro!, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Telling other people what to do

edit

Hi Twightlight Sparkle 222,
It takes a long time to figure this place out. While making mistakes when you first start editing is understandable, people who do not yet know how Wikipedia works should really not be giving advice to other users on how Wikipedia works. Please stop instructing people what to do, or what is allowed; right now, you're wrong too often. It's slightly annoying when you incorrectly instruct an experienced user to do something; it's more damaging to incorrectly instruct an inexperienced user to do something. Please try to find another area of Wikipedia to work on for a while until you better understand how Wikipedia works. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:25, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

My apologies Floquenbeam. I will try to follow your instructions. I have no idea how Wikipedia works, and I must look a bit silly. I'm very sorry. Best, Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 20:01, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
No worries, WP has quite a lot of little complications you have to learn too soon. For example, in discussions we usually indent one more level than the comment we're responding to. If you look at the source for this page, you'll see I added a ":" to your comment, and a "::" to mine. But those kind of things, of which there are many, would be overwhelming if dumped on someone all at once. So you kind of learn by messing up, being told how to fix it, and then messing something else up. So don't worry about looking silly; just avoid trying to use your newfound knowledge to tell other people what to do, and you'll probably be fine. --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:17, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand. Which comment did you add ":"/"::" to and why? Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 20:21, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
You have to look at this discussion in edit mode to see the colons. They're code. On the actual page you just see the indentations the code makes. Look for them in edit mode now, please. And why on earth did you remove other kinds of code (which I presume you did not understand) from Drmies's page here? Please leave stuff alone if you don't know what it's for. If you make an edit like that again, I will regard it as pure vandalism, and you may be blocked from editing in consequence. Bishonen | tålk 21:03, 23 August 2021 (UTC).Reply
Look what I did here: ("diff"). And I agree with Bishonen that your edit on Drmies' talk page is hard to understand as a good faith mistake of some kind. What were you trying to do? --Floquenbeam (talk) 22:18, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
If you're confused about reply indentations, feel free to check out my sandbox. You can even edit it and mess around to get the hang of using indentations when replying, if you'd like. ––𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗗𝘂𝗱𝗲 talk 22:28, 23 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that Bishonen. I thought Drmies wouldn't need the mail anymore, so I removed it. Though I should've asked him first. I'll apologize to Drmies. And thank you FormalDude. Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 13:24, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
?You removed Drmies's archiving code because you thought he wouldn't need "the mail" any more? It had nothing to do with mail, and where did you in any case get the notion Drmies didn't need mail? Anyway, just as long as you stop removing (or for that matter adding) things you don't understand, we're all good. Did you try to use the colon code in this discussion? It doesn't look like it. I have added colons for you. Bishonen | tålk 15:28, 24 August 2021 (UTC).Reply
Sorry Bishonen. I'll try to be more careful with editing next time. Are you going to block me now? Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 17:35, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
No, certainly not. Fine use of colons there! But please don't start a new line for your signature; it loses the colons, and looks ungainly. I've fixed it for you. Bishonen | tålk 20:03, 24 August 2021 (UTC).Reply
Okay, thank you Bishonen. Thank you FormalDude. Thank you Floquenbeam. Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 20:51, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

You appear unwilling or unable to understand clear warnings from other people. Your recent move of someone else's userpage is the final straw. It's become clear to me that this is trolling rather than incompetence, but even if it's incompetence, you're wasting too much time, and not listening to anyone. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:09, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I understand what I did wrong, making so many disruptive edits even when I was warned. I understand that what I did harmed this project called Wikipedia. It was wrong, and you had every right to block me and you also still have every right to keep my IP adress and my account blocked indefinitely.

Decline reason:

Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 14:37, 30 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I understand. Keep me blocked.

I'm now leaving

edit
I am leaving Wikipedia, because I know I am damaging the project. I am wasting time, and I have done multiple things wrong.

For example, I accidentally created another account for another wiki. I had no idea that I could use just one account for all wikis. I later learned that this was called evasion. I had done the wrong thing, and I couldn't just delete the accounts I created.

I also kept making invalid edits. People kept telling me that I should try to be careful, and that I'll be blocked if I don't stop. But I kept making invalid edits, and now I'm blocked.

And lastly, I didn't listen to any other user. I was very stubborn, not listening to anyone, and destroying the wiki. I also destroyed the Simple wiki. I edited there instead so I would be able to edit again, but then Floquenbeam found out and told another user. And @Floquenbeam: This edit is not to try to get unblocked, because I know that I deserve this punishment.

I am also leaving every other wiki because I will get blocked there as well and I might ruin them as well. Twilight Sparkle 222 (talk) 20:52, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
