National CAPHPACH DAY moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, National CAPHPACH DAY, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Unless it's obvious promtion, I would recommend keeping the book. Use a {{cite book}}, leave out the URL and preferably add an ISBN, otherwise, an ASIN. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 10:12, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Henry L. Hooks (photojournalist) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Henry L. Hooks (photojournalist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, Sbhpost. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Greshun De Bouse, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your edit pattern makes it seem that you are Greshun De Bouse. I'm going to assume good faith and that you are not, but regardless, it seems as if you are promoting her.

There are some outside sources, that's good. That can be used to establish notability. But you can't just add her to the list of Forbes' most powerful women when that is not the case, eg.

On a related note, be careful with external links. Don't use self-published sources, other Wikis, or sites that are literally the only ones covering whatever you're talking about. One of the ones used on the list of food days page linked to a page that included a link that said it was for the holiday but in fact linked to a sex site! Paris1127 (talk) 21:12, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Who are you? Please identify yourself. While I appreciate positive feedback to help contributors improve articles and comply with Wikipedia guidelines, I take issue with outlandish direct or indirect unsupported accusations. Please provide documentation to support your allegations relative to external links wherein you stated "One of the ones used on the list of food days page linked to a page that included a link that said it was for the holiday but in fact linked to a sex site!" If such is true, this is not my doing, and I do not relish any insinuation that I linked anything to such an external site. If you allege you found/viewed the explicit link, did you place it there? Your comments and unsupported direct or indirect accusations are a seeming attempt to prevent my edits, or sabatoge my opportunity to contribute like others on wikipedia. Your unsupported accusations are an attack on my character, and This is separate from any subject matter about which I have written. Therefore, I must advise you to be mindful of making such unsupported indirect or direct accusations that could be quite damaging to the person to whom they are directed. Further, do not retaliate maliciously after reading this communication by making adverse unwarranted commentary, or edits. Sbhpost (talk) 22:53, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK, step back. I think you misunderstood: the thing about the sex site was not implying that happened on purpose---I just assume the website wasn't created and cybersquatters are using it. You linked to https://www.holidaysmart.com/holidays/daily/stuffed-shrimp-scholars-day, but clicking the link to the "official" site on that link takes you to a sex site. Again, I don't think that's what you intended---that's a problem on Holidaysmart's end. I do not seek to prevent you from posting on Wikipedia, but only to advise you of the guidelines here. If I find someone is making edits that may run afoul of them, I will look into their other edits. Maybe revert them, maybe no, it depends on the edit. For example, in the Creole cuisine article, the picture you added had a copyright warning in the middle of it. And a quick internet search about the dish you added revealed next to nothing on other sites. Then there's the list of people with perfect pitch---we can't list everyone with it. And for Forbes' list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women, that list is easy to look up. Greshaun De Bouse was not #10 on the 2018 and 2019 lists. Believe it or not, I'm trying to help here. If you want to restore these edits (except the Forbes one), I won't revert you (others might). I'm sorry you feel attacked. That's never my intention. I love this encyclopedia and its community, and want the best for it. Paris1127 (talk) 23:45, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • The concerns about WP:COI would be well founded. We have strict policies on people who have conflicts of interest, and not understanding them can cause you problems here. I think most everyone has some kind of conflict of interest about something, but when you are directly involved with the person whose article you are editing, we require that you declare that conflict of interest. The same is true for any COI you might have. Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but it looks like you may, which is why you got the COI notice. Being defensive won't really help you here. You must have thick skin to edit at Wikipedia, people are going to ask questions, and some of them, you are pretty much required to answer. Asking if you have a conflict, if you have any financial interest or personal knowledge of the person, is a very legitimate question to ask. Dennis Brown - 17:29, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

September 2022 edit

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Sbhpost, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sbhpost|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. – NJD-DE (talk) 17:16, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm GPL93. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greshun De Bouse that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. GPL93 (talk) 17:25, 16 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I do not know what you are referring to GPL93. Your comments are not civil because they are false. I have the right to reply in a firm, factual, and articulate manner (as I have done) to those who maliciously perpetuate a censorship campaign, by considering a notable subject/article with verifiable references for deletion. As aforementioned, anyone with good intentions will try to assist me with correcting errors if need be, instead of launching an unwarranted censorship campaign. I have asked for constructive feedback/assistance with article improvement if necessary. However, considering the article is factual, the person is notable, and the references are verifiable, I am unsure what alterations should be made. Being assertive is not synonymous with being uncivil. Please refrain from making false statements concerning my statements. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbhpost (talkcontribs)
