Indian CFA/Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India

Thank you for your contribution of new inline citations to Indian CFA, an article I came across when looking at articles reviewed by the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors. (I am a member.) The article was tagged for copy editing, but the reviewer said that other problems with the article had to be corrected before copy editing was to be done.

There are certainly problems with the Indian CFA article, but there is also the problem of the separate article. Indian CFA has the name Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India in the lede, but that points to an entirely different and much shorter article.

Any more improvements that you could make would be welcomed. I would appreciate any explanation about why there are two articles, which appear to be on the same subject, or about the apparent controversy described in the Indian CFA article. --DThomsen8 (talk) 15:47, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Repost of Category:Journeyman Editor

A tag has been placed on Category:Journeyman Editor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Replaceable fair use File:Nokia C2-03.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Nokia C2-03.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:31, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Ramesh,

Just noticed that you have added a few links to Sikivu Hutchinson's WP page. I about to copy the page and do some major editing to it. It will take me a few weeks (hopefully less) and then I will paste all the changes onto WP all fresh and new. If you are planning on a re-write of the page I'll happily stand back and let you proceed. I just want to let you know so that you won't see all the changes you make to the page in the next few weeks disappear. Let me know if you would like to take on the re-write. WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Pakistan articles being tagged under WikiProject India

Hi there. Just recently, I have been through your contributions log and have observed that you have incorrectly been tagging several Pakistan-related articles under the scope of WikiProject India, even when the topics do not have much to with India. Articles that you have tagged include neighbourhoods in Karachi, some Pakistani towns, a Pakistani fiction series, a Pakistani newspaper, and some Pakistani personalities. I am not sure if it is a mistake, but could you please stop tagging articles not related to WP:INDIA under the Indian project tag? Thanks. Mar4d (talk) 12:45, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi RR. Sometimes articles are mistakenly tagged as of interest to WP-India, particularly when they involve areas of overlap (Kashmir, Sindh, Punjab) between Pakistan and India. When tagging articles in these areas, could you do a quick second check to see if they need to be included in WP-India? Thanks! --regentspark (comment) 14:36, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you tagged Gaurav reja for speedy deletion as an attack page ({{db-g10}}). However, that page did not attack its subject—it was just a link to a facebook page on a person known as "Gaurav Reja". Copyright violations

After declining your request for autopatrolled rights due to concerns over a couple of pages raised there, I had a look at a few random articles that you had created. Every single one that I've viewed so far has contained material directly copied from its sources. I don't know how you've managed to avoid detection for so long, but consider this a final warning: if you add copyrighted material to Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing without further notice. I now have to go through your entire contribution history checking each article against its source for copyright violations; if you'd care to make my task easier by doing so yourself, I would appreciate it. Yunshui  12:16, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

I am very sorry to disturb you. I am very disappointed with this warning message. By the way i will never make the same mistakes again because i am not the enemy to wikipedia, i respect Wikipedia's guidelines. i love wikipedia. Ramesh Ramaiah talk 16:04, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
I appreciate that you may not have been aware of en-wiki's policy on using copyrighted materials. The above warning still stands, but if you take a look at WP:COPYVIO and follow the advice there, you shouldn't have any further problems. I believe that between us I and Thine Antique Pen have now removed all of the offending material, although if you are aware of any other text that you have copied from external sites it would be greatly appreciated if you could remove it. Please do continue to create articles here; just be aware that you must write your own text, rather than copying it from elsewhere. Yunshui  10:49, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women

A tag has been placed on M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of SVS Educational Institutions

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SVS Educational Institutions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shrikanthv (talk) 08:51, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at SVS Educational Institutions

Hi Ramesh Ramaiah, you recently removed a deletion tag from SVS Educational Institutions. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 12:24, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Copyright violations, again

Last month, I warned you for repeated copyright violations, see this thread. At the time, you made assurances that you would "never make the same mistakes again" and that you would "respect Wikipedia's guidelines". Since then, you have created

It is evident that you are not capable of contributing without violating Wikipedia's copyright policy. As such, I am reluctantly obliged to follow through on my previous warning and block your account. Yunshui  22:12, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

September 2012

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one month for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Yunshui  22:13, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Your article

I see that you're blocked, so I don't know if you'll see this, but the article needs more independent sources to show notability (see Wikipedia:Notability). CtP (tc) 00:52, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of International Journal of Advanced Research In Technology for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article International Journal of Advanced Research In Technology is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/International Journal of Advanced Research In Technology until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. CtP (tc) 01:00, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Since you are currently blocked, you will obviously be unable to contribute directly to the deletion discussion. However, if you want to make a statement or respond to the arguments there, please place the message you want to leave on this page; I will put your talkpage on my watchlist and transcribe what you write here to the AfD discussion on your behalf. Request reason:

Dear respected administrator i know i did make a mistake for blocked from editing albeit i am requesting to you for unblock because i did not do any Vandalism or disruptive editing in my hole contributions i promise i will never do copyediting in future so please unblock me or at least reduce the block period, Thank you. Ramesh Ramaiah talk 02:44, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Decline reason:

None of this has anything to do with your block. You were blocked for copyright violations, not copyediting. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:50, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Ok i mean i will never do copyright violations edits in future, Please at least reduce the block period. Ramesh Ramaiah talk 02:56, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Help Me!

I am requesting to you for unblock because i did not do any Vandalism or disruptive editing in my hole contributions i promise i will never do copyright violations in future so please unblock me or at least reduce the block period, Thank you. Ramesh Ramaiah talk 11:43, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

If you want to be unblocked, you must place another unblock request below this. When you were warned before, you made the same promise, but then you did a lot more copying until you were actually blocked. Why should we believe you this time? Copying material into Wikipedia is extremely disruptive, because it could cause serious legal problems and it gives a great deal of unnecessary work for those who have to check and remove the violations. Your unblock request will have to make clear that you have read and understood Wikipedia:Copy-paste, Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing and Wikipedia:Copyrights, and explain how your editing will be different. JohnCD (talk) 11:55, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
This is my mistake so i accept the punishment, Thank you for your help Mr. JohnCD, I never request again to unblock because the one month of period is usable to know more about wikipedia, I will wait for my useful and trustable contribution to wikipedia. Thank you and see you after one month good bye wikipedia. Ramesh Ramaiah talk 12:30, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Naan (film).jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Naan (film).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:27, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

This is improper use of helpme, block evasion, and the fact that you aren't even blocked on tewiki anyway. --Nathan2055talk - contribs 15:34, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
I can't see how this is block evasion, since Ramesh's block expired over a week ago. Whilst this isn't exactly a textbook use of the {{help me}} template, it's hardly a sanctionable offence. Ramesh, you may not be aware of this but placing a {{help me}} code on your page automatically logs you in Category:Wikipedians looking for help - the editors who patrol that category tend to be experts in en-wiki, and won't be able to help you out much at the Teluga version. Since you're able to edit tewiki, you might be better off asking for assistance there. Yunshui  22:02, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Zoe D'Amato

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zoe D'Amato requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

-happy5214 05:14, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
