I don't understand why the following is your criteria for deleting this article:

"A college football game from the 1950s is not notable in itself. No other indication of notability". I have created several pages like this (see here, here, and here), and they are all notable due to the fact that they are bowl games. I wouldn't create an article for any old college football game in 1952, but this one was notable because it was a bowl game. This game was notable in the same way that this one is, they're the same bowl game, just under a different name and sixty years apart. That shouldn't be a reason for deletion. Non-free image use

Hi PCN02WPS. The licensing of each image you see on Wikipedia is determined by it copyright status and not every image file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Wikipedia and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these file are commonly referred to as "non-free images". Non-free image use is highly restricted and each use of such an an image must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free image use policy. One of these restrctions is WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content can only be used in the article namespace. Non-free content should not be used on usepages or their subpages as explained in WP:UP#Non-free images which is why I have converted the non-free File:Flag of the City of Clinton, South Carolina.png to a link on your user page. Perhaps you did not notice the edit sum I left the first time I made said edit; therefore, I'm posting this here to provide more explanation. Please do not re-display this file again because doing so is clearly in violation of relevant Wikipedia policy.   • @Marchjuly and Black Kite: Thank you for bringing this to my attention; I designed this for my city and it was adopted several months ago. We tried to trademark/copyright it but we couldn't because it already belongs to the city. I was told I could release the image anywhere, since the flag belongs to the city, so can I change it to a free use license? Thanks, PCN02WPS (talk) 14:32, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
    • If it belongs to the city, I suspect you would have to check whether they hold copyright in it (which is usual on most recent city flags, see for instance File:Flag of Provo, Utah (2015).png) or whether they would release the design on a CC license. Unfortunately in this case, Wikipedia policy states that the onus falls on the person wishing to use it as a free image to prove that it actually is. Black Kite (talk) 21:21, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
    • Hi PCNo2WPS. First of all, congrats on being selected to do such a thing; I think its pretty cool to be able to look at that flag and say "I did that". Also, sorry if either my edit sums or the above post were a bit cryptic or confusing. About the free licensing, I agree with what Black Kite wrote. On Wikipedia, a free license means that the copyright holder is basically agreing in advance to allow anyone anywhere in the world permission to download the file and modify/use without restriction, including for commercial purposes. There are certain restrictions that can be added, such as requiring attribution, etc. depending upon the type of license chosen, but basically the copyright holder is giving people the right to do with the image as they please. Since a free license cannot be revoked, Wikipedia often requires some sort of declaration of consent from the copyright holder for verifiation purposes as explained here. It is possible in some cases for particular content to be licensed as public domain for a variety of reasons and permission of the copyright holder is not needed to do so. Since the flag is quite new, treating it as public domain for its age is not an option. Certain works deemed to be below the threshold of originality are considered to be ineligible for copyright protection. Whether that applies in this case may require some discussion and an agreement of the Wikipedia community at a venue such as WP:FFD. Like a free license, public domain content would not be considered non-free content and thus could be displayed on your user page. Just for reference, all of the other flags displayed on your user page are freely licensed or licensed as public domain and thus are OK to be shown per relevant Wikipedia policy. Of course, the accuracy of the licensing may be challenged by anyone at any time, but they seem OK (at least to me) at first glance. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:54, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
      • @Marchjuly and Black Kite: I was told by someone at the city that the flag and image now officially belong to the city (and not me anymore), but I was free to put the image wherever on the internet that I wanted. I'm assuming this means it can be a free use image?
        • Lots of people upload images specifically for use on Wikipedia and claim that they have been given permission to use the image on Wikipedia; however, such a thing is unfortunately not really sufficient for Wikipedia's free licensing purposes. In general, the goal of Wikipedia is to provide content which is freely available for reader to use as they see fit; proper attribution is typically required, but otherwise the information is there for all to freely use in pretty much any way they want. So, the city giving you permission to use the image as you like is fine for you, but the same consideration needs to be given to others as well. Basically, the city needs to clearly give permission to everyone in the world to download the image and then use it pretty much any way they want, including using it to make money. That is why Wikipedia is going to need to have something explicitly from the city stating that they consent to such a thing before the image can be accepted under a free license. Otherwise, the best thing to do is treat the image as non-free content, which means that its use is subject to Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:29, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Presidential election county results

The presidential election county results are sourced from several sources:

1. Richard Scammon’s America at the Polls: A Handbook of Presidential Election Statistics 1920-1964
2. Edgar Eugene Robinson’s The Presidential Vote 1896-1932
3. The French website Géoelections, whose files can be bough for fifteen euros per election (major parities only) and an extra fifteen euros for vote totals for major third parties (e.g. Perot, Wallace, La Follette, Debs, Weaver)
4. [I will note that the basic election .xlsx files do include figures for Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, Fillmore in 1856, and all four candidates in 1860.]

If you want to update or add county tables, I plead that you do the following:

1. Follow the basic formatting and party shading in the county table of United States presidential election in Maine, 1980#Results by county. Write-in candidates are in grey, as seen in United States presidential election in Maine, 1960.
2. If results for all non-major party candidates are not given separately, shade “Other” candidates by the party shading of the most successful “other” candidate for the relevant election.
3. If a third party finished ahead of a major party in any county, list the margin between the top two candidates and endnote those counties where such occurred (e.g. United States presidential election in Ohio, 1912).
4. In some cases where multiple third parties poll significantly (for example in United States presidential election in Washington (state), 1912) it becomes impractical to list margins, so they can be omitted.
5. The same is true in some cases where the third-party vote could not be differentiated.
6. For your information, you can go to Category:United States political party color templates to find the appropriate shading colour.

Game summaries

As far as I know, there is no standard when it comes to listing either W , L , or team abbreviations in the previous meetings. Yet you have converted a lot of them to W L citing "to keep consistent". Consistent with what? On the pages where I created the game summaries I referred to how it was listed on previous season articles for that team and used that "to keep consistent". I don't see any need to change how it has been listed on team pages for several years. Especially if it is for consistency. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 02:31, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

@Bsuorangecrush: The consistency I referred to was other 2018 pages that I had seen or created; the majority of 2018 pages use W or L and my plan was just to convert those that did not use W or L to that format.
