Unsectioned comments about Johrei

Hello, I hope this is the proper page to write to you. I am a novice with Wikipedia regarding anything besides adding articles in a page.

I received this message (sorry I am copying the message here) "Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Johrei, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ogress smash! 00:04, 10 June 2015 (UTC)"

My apologies if I violated any Wiki rules and regulations. I am simply seeking to correct some confusing information and placing a benign, non-controversial comment regarding "johrei." In the past, I had added a reply (I think it was a counter-point?) to a very alarming comment on this same page. I think it can be found in the history section. I have not visited this "johrei" page in a few months and found that the original comment and my reply was deleted.

The current comments are also rife with confusing information regarding the practice of Johrei. For the sake of full disclosure, I am a Johrei practitioner for over 20 years and have been part of a movement called Johrei Fellowship in the United States. As I had added in the comments today, we are not just a group that practices alternative "healing" or "treatment." In fact, we do not use those words to describe our practice. While we have location called "centers" in several locations where people can visit and learn about our practice, we do not prosthelytize or aim to supplant mainstream medicine, nor do we aim to replace any other faith practice. While the practice of energy healing is not mainstream, "johrei" has been practiced since the early 1900's as a way of life. We are not a religious cult or exclusionary.

Having said that, there are many so-called "johrei" (different spellings) groups, organizations and individuals who may advertise controversial information, claim to be supreme healers or fall under the broad classification of "quacks" or religious fanatics, or worse.

The reason for changing the current information with a benign, inclusive message, whereby individuals can seek information for themselves through objective inquiry, was to avoid further confusion and controversy. That was a sole purpose of my edit.

Since I don't know how information from Wikipedia is monitored and managed, this is the best I could do. I don't know the criteria as what information is constructive or not, as far as Wikipedia is concerned. I sincerely want to avoid confusion and negative feedback toward an unsuspecting Johrei practitioner, should someone read negative comments in such public forums. Johrei practitioners include people from all walks of life - mothers, fathers, children, professionals, etc. We are traditional, we are LGBT, we are religious, agnostics and yes, atheists also. Johrei is broad and inclusive and our goal is to help bring about positive change to our communities rife with conflict, discrimination, illness and unhappiness.

I know we cannot control the content in public pages so I will surrender this to what may be. Thank you, sincerely, for your time and the opportunity to share. Jfedit (talk) 01:21, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Reported under Reverts without reason on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents

Hi, I was reported by a curious user Here and in this regard I submit my explanation that-

For your kind notice it is not Mahensingha but the reporting user Suijai (talk) himself started reverts with no valid reasons See here, Sometimes he himself reverts his own edits See and here. He was well informed on his talk page through a general note on his talk page. He was well addressed on the talk page of the article, still he reported the matter here without informing the user being reported. It is a trick, I say.

Thanks and regards--MahenSingha (Talk) 08:25, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

A possible change

You recently made a comment at WP:PUMP that made passing mention of someone whose full name is Prince roger nelson. GregKaye 15:23, 13 June 2015 (UTC) @GregKaye: You mean Prince (musician)? I was in error as that is his legal name. Ogress smash! 21:12, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Uicheon

Do you think it is possible to reduce the number of names in Uicheon? JimRenge (talk) 21:07, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

JimRenge uh.. I didn't put them there, but I don't see why not. You mean in the side bar? I'm a little confused. Ogress smash! 21:09, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Yes, there is not much content but there are many names in the side bar. I wonder if they are really needed or useful, so I ask the expert for help. JimRenge (talk) 21:16, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
JimRenge I think the real issue is expanding the article, but I don't think the English Wikipedia is a useful place to store his courtesy name, I agree. Plus providing multiple romanisations... RR is the way to go, McCune is terrible, it's like when I have to keep Wade-Giles in an article. SO GROSS. (I actually prefer Yale to RR, but that's a linguist's romanisation.) Ogress smash! 21:26, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the cleanup! I had much fun with the google translation of the Korean wp article :) ... however they have a better picture of Uicheon and I think I understand the caption. You are right, the article should be expanded, I will look for reliable references. JimRenge (talk) 22:12, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Shang dynasty's language

Hi, I noticed the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#Talk:Shang dynasty.23Language discussion. I think Easy772 did not include Zanhe, Lathdrinor (in which you notified) and a few others that were in the discussion on Talk:Shang_dynasty#Language. Shouldn't they be notified too?--Balthazarduju (talk) 22:44, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

@Balthazarduju: Yah, I notified Lathrindor; I missed Zanhe. And, apparently, you. Sorry! I think you guys were in a different stage of the discussion than I was (probably more recently). But definitely. I've been kind of ill so I sort of work in spurts and I didn't do due diligence on this. ... On the other hand, I think we should mention that only three discussants were flagged for it by OP, whose only job was to flag users. Ogress smash! 23:32, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Bots

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.

Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. Rohingya people

I noticed in the articles edit history that you Reverted to revision 667589706 by Ogress; however, could you please revert to this version (dated 05:09, 19 June 2015‎)? By reverting to your previous version you ignored the vandalistic content removal of the sock-puppet direct below your edit (i.e. IP 203.81.69.86). My content that was removed by this sock-puppet should be restored since it is cited from a reliable source (as the articles discussion page shows here, according to the neutral User:QuiteUnusual).--58.106.232.239 (talk) 03:42, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Listen, 58.106.232.239, are you joking? I'm not going around Wikipedia sanctions to help a "brave IP edit warrior". You need to grow up and clean up the problems you made. The fact that you are showing up on my page asking for this shows you have no idea what Wikipedia is about. Maybe you should read up on that and learn how to edit responsibly and respectfully. Ogress smash! 04:00, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
Oops! My bad. I didn't take note of the Allow only administrators page protection. Sorry for the nuisance.--07:11, 20 June 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.106.232.239 (talk)
That reply fills me with suuuuch hope. Ogress smash! 07:13, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
Tnankyou for your agreeable tone.--58.106.232.239 (talk) 07:46, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
58.106.232.239 You've been hopping IPs to edit war like crazy, then when your shenanigans get shut down you try to circumvent the system. And when I call you out for it, your reply is, "Oops! My bad. I didn't take note of the Allow only administrators page protection. Sorry for the nuisance." What did you expect my tone to be? Ogress smash! 07:49, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
You should assume good faith. My shenanigans doesn't involve trying "to circumvent the system". I didn't realise the protection level. I can assure you it was an innocent oversight on my behalf. But you can believe what you want.--58.106.232.239 (talk) 08:19, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
58.106.232.239 You believed IPs were banned from editing the page; you tried to get me to do it as proxy. That's the definition of circumventing the system. Ogress smash! 08:22, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
And as the talk page shows, my edit had no right to be removed (by an eventually proven sock-puppet).--58.106.232.239 (talk) 08:27, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

@58.106.232.239: You still don't understand that edit warring is not permitted regardless of circumstance. I suggest you stop IP hopping, make an account, and learn how Wikipedia works. Ogress smash! 08:30, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

I do regret my reverting and i wont be resorting to that again now that i know i can resort to other avenues to sort disputes; however, i don't regret the content of my reliably sourced edits.--58.106.232.239 (talk) 09:41, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
