Articles on CSI episodes

User:TenPoundHammer has been redirecting all the articles on episodes of CSI: Las Vegas, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York to the articles on these shows' seasons. Some articles were still from minimal to inexistent, but some were already full despite the need for some revision, such as Turbulence (CSI: NY), or needing just a little augment, such as Kill Clause (CSI: Miami). Should these removals be reverted? They can be considered vandalism, even if unintentional. You're the only film/television editor I could find. An Administrator would perhaps add to the decision. I have read the book 4 or 5 times, so no need to lecture me on it. The character is named Paul Owen in the novel, yes, but that actual scene (Bateman panicking over the apartment) does not actually happen in the book, and the article is not centric to the book only. Please do not encourage new editors to make bad edits by disparaging another editor. Whether you agree or disagree with Nymf is irrelevant. You need to think about what you've done. You removed a valid welcome message that had useful links that the editor in question obviously did not read before continuing to make inappropriate edits. Nymf's warning was a second warning, and that's the correct thing to do when the first warning has been ignored. You have NO business removing, changing or striking the comments of other editors, nor do you have the right to frame your comments as a personal attack, by using words such as "brash" and "mean". If you had something to say you could have added it, you could have given your cookies, even a bunch of flowers if you felt so moved, but you must leave other comments alone unless they breach a Wikipedia policy. If User:Jccope1029 wants to remove the comments, he/she can do so, but not you. I will restore that page. I will leave your comments as they are, except to remove your personal attack which is not acceptable per WP:No personal attacks. Anyway that's not why I'm here. Hi. I wanted to thank you for rolling back the edits of Josh Rumage and his socks. He tends to cover a lot of articles so rolling them all back by myself is quite a pain. No worries. I don't take issue with that. When I revert banned users I don't do it because their edits might be rubbish, but because I believe that they should not be able to bruteforce their edits/POV onto Wikipedia. Everything that I removed in this edit was copyrighted. Changing a word or two to avoid copyright infringement is not okay. And yes, there is a copyright even though it doesn't say so at the bottom of the page. Are there other cases where you have copied material from web pages? Your comment worries me. I also noted that they have a userbox indicating Asperger's Syndrome so I have tried posting to their talk page (kid gloves and all that).

Well, then I saw the charming posts to your talk page (hence the title of this section) and the person's regular blanking of their talk page, totally ignoring any messages and so on from other editors etc. Do you patrol this person? I have checked several of the diffs from last night and saw that you had reverted them. I have just installed Twinkle, so in the edit history I assume if there is [rollback] this page has not been checked?

Question

When you do an SPI investigation, is there a way to look at each of the accounts' IP addresses? If so, I will explain in a subsequent post when I file the SPI. I don't want to jump the gun on it yet. What you are doing is 1# Hardcoding the page, which is a big no-no, as it makes maintaining the Wikipedia much, much harder. 2# You break the page for anyone using a text and/or voice based browser, .e.g. the visually impaired, as well as those who has to use bigger fonts. 3# You break sorting. Correct spelling of celeb's middle name

Nina Dobrev's middle name is spelled with a "C" and not a "K." I was given this information through a very reliable source, so unless you can prove different, please stop changing it. I have engaged in discussions more than once. Just recently at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Clarification_needed_on_WP:DATESNO as well as Talk:Chelsea_Kane#endashes; you know that, so stop trying to potray me as I am blindly reverting or edit warring (as a matter of fact, if this constitutes as edit warring, you are doing the exact the same thing.)

By using rowspans you unequivocally break the page for any screen reader. Wikipedia:ACCESS#Tables deals with this. If you are referring to this most recent edit, WP:DEVIATIONS is the section you should look at.

There are multiple facets to this issue, and they rather hang together. The problem is that those who put together this filmography format did not consider problems it caused. Had they been open to discussion, things might have been different. But here we are. The rowspan stuff relates mostly to sorting. Do we need sorting? Not really. But if we're going to have it, it should work, even for date ranges. It's easy to make it work. So why do you really oppose anything that would make it work? Please don't tell me you think the MOS requires dashes, because that's not correct, as the MOS discussion showed. Really, I am having trouble figuring out your motivation. When an editor has a bee in his bonnet about some trivial typographical issue, I usually at least get out of the way, and maybe help if I think it improves things. There are more issues to rowspan than sorting. Have a look at what a table with rowspan sounds like using a screen reader at User:RexxS/Accessibility, or what it looks like using a text browser. The user base you are introducing this "fix" for is small and trivial (there are most likely even less users who actually uses the function in question), and removing sortability for this could be interpreted as disruptive and pointy. I don't particularly care to "remove" sortability, I care that the function works; it is only because certain editors refuse to let it be made to work that they allow no alternative but a non-working form. Please pardon my intrusion, but both rowspans and colspans can be detrimental to accessibility as well as usability (e.g. sorting). My colleague Dodoiste was too literal when he wrote "this criterion is not part of any accessibility referential". It is true that it is not part of the W3C standards, but many US government websites have to conform to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the result is typically this (taken from the Inland Revenue Services site at http://www.irs.gov/irm/part2/irm_02-025-005.html - section 2.25.5.4.5.7 Data Tables, Technical Requirements (g) and (h) ):

"1. Technical Requirements (g) and (h). Row and column headers shall be identified for simple and multi-level data tables. Markup shall be used to associate data cells and header cells for data tables that have two or more logical levels of row or column headers." ...

"5. The scope attribute shall be used whenever possible to provide an association between a header and its related information.

• The "scope" attribute is the most effective way of making HTML compliant with Technical Requirements (g) and (h). The scope attribute also works with some (but not all) assistive technology in tables that use "colspan" or "rowspan" attributes in table header or data cells." - my emphasis in bold

Now, I don't claim that we must slavishly follow what the US government does. I don't want to invade Iran, for example. Nevertheless, there is a clear indication that sufficient people have found rowspan/colspan to cause problems with assistive technology that web design guidelines have been written for major sites to avoid such problems where possible. There really is an improvement for some of our most disadvantaged users if we do our best to create tables without rowspan/colspan. Interesting framing. Browser compatibility is a factor in determining html. Your editing would appear to say that it is 100% completely and perfectly acceptable to knowingly and intentionally break compatibility with a browser even when an trivial modification is available to provide compatibility. I very intentionally left the conversation on the Talk:Christian Bale, but collapsed, because I assumed a new/unconfirmed user wouldn't know about edit summaries, and would just be either bitter or confused that their words were removed, and then possibly repost them. Glamour Photography

Hope this is going the right place?

Not really sure how it is spam, on Glamour Photography, to point out that airbrushing is no longer done (except by the rare rare stickler for the classics) and replaced by digital retouching, and citing an article for more detail?

The reversion is just wrong.

I would not be surprized to find that over 99% of glamour photography today is not airbrushed.

And, any reference to airbrush is a left over lay term and missusage.

Rachel McAdams deletion

I notice you have deleted large parts of the Rachel McAdams page, including sourced reviews of her films and sourced quotes about her thoughts on the films. This seems to me to just be a matter of personal taste rather than any wikipedia policy (correct me if I'm wrong). In addition, if you notice sentences without a citation, please just add a "citation needed" template, as this is more productive. The article recently had a peer review, and it was recommended that quotes and tidbits be added throughout the article to bring it to Featured Article standard. At the moment, it's just very bare facts and not particularly compelling to read. Obviously, it's still a long way off FA standard now, but that's the aim, and you're more than welcome to help if you so wish. The review quoting may seem excessive at the minute but it's a work in progress and will be balanced out with information of character research etc. Also, what do you mean by "hit this/that"? The person underwent influences of New Zealand culture between his 0-4 and 14-21 year which shows up in his choice of roles as much as in his opinions and behaviour, an important information regarding his Oevre.
