Lippmann diagram moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Lippmann diagram, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Proposed deletion of List of Nepal Standards edit

The article List of Nepal Standards has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

What makes this list notable, of meeting WP:LISTN? It's just a list of minor government documents.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your draft article, Draft:Yukne Hang edit

Hello, Nirmaljoshi. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Yukne Hang".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Speedy deletion nomination of Butwal Technical Institute edit

Hello Nirmaljoshi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Butwal Technical Institute for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of The Edge Band edit

A tag has been placed on The Edge Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Speedy deletion nomination of Lumbini Eye Institute edit

Help new Nepali fellow editors and creators edit

Hello Nirmaljoshi, I am a beginner in Wikipedia. In an article named List of Schools in Pokhara, Saraswati Adarsha Vidyashram was marked red, which meant article with that topic had not been created. Thinking I might contribute, I talked with authorities of the school and created an article with the same name as an educational institution of Nepal. But I am frequently getting warnings that the article does not meet the guidelines. I want you to help me know how the other schools which have cited no references are not in the list of articles for deletion. I will try my best to meet the guidelines and I am fully intended to try creating relevant article by going to the field rather than staying in the corner of the room. I hope you will consider helping the beginners like me! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liambutera (talkcontribs) 06:59, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

`Liambutera: Welcome to wiki for editing. I understand your frustration especially while creating articles related to Nepal when there is lack of references. As you mentioned, you talked with the school for info, this is an original research, its not allowed WP:NOR. The article should be covered in some reputed newspaper, books or journal articles to make it Notable (offline is also allowed - wiki considers it as Good Faith WP:AAGF). Try to improve the article by adding more references (including those in Nepali websites/books). One more thing- you should contest in the deletion process by providing your reasons to keep the article; else most likely it will be deleted. Also, please do not compare your article with the bad ones- they may be deleted too in the future.

Thanks edit

Thank you for your suggestion! But my article is no more available now, I think it has been deleted already. I will try to edit articles from now onward with updated data but I still wonder why foreigners are commenting it as non-notable school. You are Nepalese so it'll be right to take your suggestion. But I still can't believe people from other countries commented stating non-notable school. I had heard that Wikipedia is an open library. It is my duty to take suggestions and improve but who are they to give suggestion on Nepal-related article giving their own opinion? Isn't it against Wikipedia guidelines? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liambutera (talkcontribs) 12:53, 15 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

September 2020 edit

By telling a reviewer what to search for, you are insulting the reviewers by dumping poorly researched pages into article space and expecting the reviewers to finish the job. It is the responsibility of the author to provide an article that provides useful information to the reader without having to search in two languages. Do not insult the reviewers. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:12, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello again, Nirmaljoshi! I saw your comment at the AFD. It is the responsibility of the article creator to establish notability of the topic they are writing about. Especially now that you have a lot of experience with Wikipedia, and since you are a prolific article writer, your articles should be more or less ready when published. You don't need to write a long article, but you do need to establish why a topic deserves to be included. Please check the notability guidelines for the topic that you happen to be writing about and do the needful. In case of books, that would mean that you would need to include two-three WP:SIGCOVS to show that the topic likely meets WP:GNG. When you found that GNG could not be met, you should then check WP:BOOKCRIT to see if you can satisfy one of the criteria there: find two reviews or a major award, and so on. If you couldn't show either, you should scrap the article and only create a redirect if there is a suitable target. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:03, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to say but the english was poorer than the original.nirmal (talk) 13:03, 24 August 2020 (UTC):Reply

Could you be more specific? Are you referring to the MOS when you state this? For example, you called the subject "He has published more than 24 books for children's." With all due respect, does this look accurate? --Infogapp1 (talk) 13:09, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please compare with the origianal. nirmal (talk) 13:53, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Infogapp1, if you are doing copyedits in topic areas you are not familiar with, you should be particularly careful not to change any meanings. You did make some improvements, but also introduced multiple inaccuracies. For example, you removed an instance of the "BS" after the year which is an error of -57 years; in another place, you changed "He studied in this school and also passed bachelor's level" to "he passed bachelor's level from this school" confusing the school the subject passed high school from with the college that was missing. Hope you'll both discuss content with more specificity to resolve grammatical errors without compromising factual accuracy. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 19:00, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Usedtobecool Are we looking at exactly the same edits? Do keep in mind that there was already an edit before me, and I did not change what it meant. I wouldn't have tagged it as copyedit if I completely changed the meaning. Notice that my edit kept the kp20 as it is. So unless we're looking at the exactly the same edits, then you might be accusing me of a completely different thing.

BEFORE: Shanta Das Manandhar (Nepali:शान्त दास मानन्धर) is a pioneer of children's literature in Nepal. He has published more than 24 books for children's. He was born in Jhoche, Kathmandu and schooled in JP school [1] and has completed Bachelor level.

My edit: Shanta Das Manandhar (Nepali:शान्त दास मानन्धर) is a pioneer of children's literature in Nepal. He has published more than 24 children's books. He was born in Jhoche, Kathmandu. He studied a Bachelor's program from JP school <no wiki>[1]. </no wiki>

If you both feel so inclined that my edits weren't helpful to the subject, feel free to edit as you see fit but to say that my edit wasn't grammatically correct is just incorrect. First, the creator highlighted that it was grammatically wrong. Now, the reason just becomes arbitrary at best. Almost 'ownership' of the subject. --Infogapp1 (talk) 19:42, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Infogapp1, I apologise for any confusion. I was saying that you improved grammar but compromised some factual accuracy doing it. Since Nirmaljoshi is familiar with the topic, my suggestion was that the two of you discuss specific facts the sentences needing copyediting are trying to convey. Proposed deletion of List of cement manufactures in Nepal edit

I've placed a PROD (Proposed deletion) tag on your list of cement manufactures in Nepal. This Afd about a similar list you created was a good example of the consensus about lists of non-notable businesss.

A list should ideally contain links to other notable subjects. It allows our readers to locate similar encyclopedic topics in one place. Please take a look at List of cement manufacturers in Kenya. While not a fantastic example, it shows a list that contains either notable, or plausibly notable entries.

Admittedly WP:NOTDIRECTORY doesn't address that issue directly, but there is an allusion made about unencyclopedic content.

If you disagree with the proposed deletion, remove the tag from the list page, although i hope my explanation above is sufficient to dissuade this course of action. Kind regards, Zindor (talk) 20:33, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Zindor, thank you for taking interest in the cement related articles. I am not sure why you tagged it for WP:PROD. You should have noted, it's a WP:LIST not article. I suggest you refer WP:LISTCOMPANY. If you are satisfied with this explanation, could you please remove the tag. Also, please note that such kind of lists is also quoted in research paper as a data source, so deleting may not be the right path, instead, improving the article would be a better solution. Since you are also interested in cement, could you please help to improve it? Regards! nirmal (talk) 06:47, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Nirmaljoshi. I was suggesting improvements as the result of a new page review, rather than an interest in cement. I tagged it for PROD because you've recently had at least a couple of other lists be deleted at AfD for the same reasons i'm stating above, and it really is a waste of the community's time to keep rehashing this.
Your interpretation of WP:LISTCOMPANY is too literal. There is a degree of commonsense and context that goes with it. You can include companies that aren't notable, but you do need a good reason to do so, as with any other edit. Without such a reason, other editors can and will delete the content.
If you take the list on List of cement manufacturers in Kenya which i linked above, the list entries that aren't perhaps notable do happen to have a significant market cap; they have plenty of weight for inclusion. Our readers don't need to know about every cement company in Kenya, but they might want to know the major players in the market, whether they meet WP:NCORP or not.
In the interest of not being too pointy, i've deprodded and moved your list into draft space where you can work on it. Perhaps look through the list and filter out companies that don't hold a significant share of the market etc
If you feel it's ready to be in mainspace, either move it back and another reviewer will come along, or give me a shout and i'll see what i can do.
Happy editing, and don't hesitate to ask for advice at my talk page or the Teahouse.
Kind regards, Zindor (talk) 16:40, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Fertilizer use in Nepal edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Fertilizer use in Nepal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from pdfs.semanticscholar.org/f5f9/9b0ff350b1ea0906df75d47b87e60f87ee57.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. September 2020 edit

Your recent editing history at List of centenarians (miscellaneous) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. A Journey to Kathmandu (book) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, A Journey to Kathmandu (book), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. Raju Lama edit

I removed the content that you added to Raju Lama. Please do not add unsourced claims to WP:BLPs. You added {{citation needed}} to your own edit — why did you add it at all if you didn't have a source? Schazjmd (talk) 15:13, 17 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Prakash Sardar edit

The article Prakash Sardar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

It seems speculative, and even if true, this is not groundbreaking. Someone is bound to be the shortest in any given population. He doesn't even break Khagendra Thapa Magar's record.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Religious history of Nepal edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Religious history of Nepal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Liz Read!
