Signatures

Hi Niraj. The first step is to always sign with ~'s like this: ~~~~. This will be automatically converted to your signature and a timestamp. The second step is to replace your automated signature. This is found in "mypreferences" at the top of your talk page, then go to "User Profile" tab. Then edit the contents of the box that is labelled signature. My signature box has the following: [[User:BostonMA|BostonMA]] <font color = "blue">^{[[User talk:BostonMA|talk]]}</font> You need to replace "BostonMA" with your own username. Hi, I haven't looked at the rules for how your signature is displayed. It may be "legal" to use Niraj as your display name (I don't know). However, I personally think it would be less confusing if you signed with the same name as your user name. (You may want to get a second opinion on that). I note that there is noone with the username Niraj yet, so if you are quick, you could create that account and then link the two accounts together (I can show you how). FA Certainly

We could certainly have the Constitution of India as a FA. Some would would be needed in bringing it up to FA standards. What is a featured article? should have pointers to the guidelines. The article could be based on Constitution of the United States, a featured article. We would certainly give you all the support needed if you plan to get this up to FA status. I am not sure what you are talking about. Do you mean that the audio of Jana Gana Mana (instrumental).oga is not loud enough. If yes, can you tell me which software do you use as your reader. It reads out loud on my computer even at 25% of volume. I will be happy to design your userpage. Re:Name change

Hi Niraj, I asked around a bit and found out that the account for User:Niraj was created a long time back even though he has not contributed anything. In such a scenario, the right place to ask for a username change is WP:USURP though it can take a considerable time. In the meanwhile, I have deleted that userpage as it was wrongly created. Anyway, this is really a minor issue so dont bother about it too much. You can still sign as Niraj even if your username remains the same.

But the real fun is to write some nice articles in your domain of knowledge. Hope to see you writing some great articles. Let me know if any more help required — [[User:Lostintherush|about me there is some text and I want to remove it. How to do this? Nirajrm ^talk 05:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean, you should be able to remove any text by editing the page. Do you mean the "Categories: Wikipedians adopted in Adopt-a-user | Wikipedians involv..." text? That is introduced by categories introduced by the userboxes, only by removing the userboxes could you removed that text.--Commander Keane 06:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello to you. What are you studying at the U of S? I see you have come with an interest in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. I am manager of a store down town, and my children are attending U of S. I have added Saskatchewan Wiki articles as I have a keen interest in history which began from our work in genealogy. If you're interested in Canadian-related topics, there's a project dedicated to it, and also a noticeboard for Canadian-related things. There is no on-wiki way to count edits. That is hosted on the toolserver, so you'll have to use an external link to get to it. Is there some particular reason that you wanted a wikilink? --Sopoforic 04:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Re Saskatoon

Well, where I started was by adding some articles at List of communities in Saskatchewan and the List of rural municipalities in Saskatchewan have no information on them on Wikipedia at all. Any names on these lists which are red have no articles about them at all..

I also peeked around the articles which have been written about the U of S (see also U of S ) at Wikipedia ... some of them are empty or are stubs... like for instance see this page...Veterinary Medicine - University of Saskatchewan it is sooooo short. Is this an area where you have some insight?

I'm replying here to your {{helpme}} request lest your signature page should be unduly cluttered; I hope you'll not mind. In any event, the numbering did not follow from the first entry to the second because a return space was left between the two, such that each is interpreted as beginning a different list (one encounters a similar problem with bulleted lists; the use of a return space between two entries resets the bulleting and deindents entries following such space). I removed the space between the signatures and also excised a few <br>s that appeared to be unnecessary; you should, of course, revert me straightaway if you desire that the <br>s should remain (apologies if I've been untoward). I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean give your userbox a template?

To give your userbox a template it's best to make it in a user subpage. If you're going to make more userboxes, you should probably make it a subpage off a User:Nirajrm/Userboxes subpage.

Say you create the page User:Nirajrm/Userboxes/Gujarat. You then place only the userbox there. Then, if you place {{user:Nirajrm/Userboxes/Gujarat}} onto a page, it should come up with your userbox.

I see your question...How can I insert the smileys in the text? To get images you can check out Wikicommons for any picture you would love to have...or Wikipedia...Emoticon#Graphic emoticons...If you actually click on a picture on this page ..or any picture in Wiki... it will take you to Wikicommons where the original picture was uploaded to Wiki. So if I wanted to add the innocent smiley... I would type [[Image:SInnocent.gif|20px]] and it would look like... when it is re-sized to 20 pixels. Just added a |} to finish off the preceding article that was made... If a table is started with a bracket, it must end with another bracket going the other way... I created a page called User:Nirajrm/Header I then transcluded the page on the the top of your userpage by adding {{/Header}} to the page you can feel free to move it around where ever you want. I typed the Re: before the message on your talk page so it was more obvious I was replying. When I reply to messages, I read the message on my talk page and reply to it here, but before I save it I copy it. Deleting a page that you created

If you wish to delete a page that you created, and to which other people did not make many substantial edits, put "{{db-author}}" on the page, in order to alert an admin that you want it to be deleted. I recommend using the Subpage archive method with the cut-and-paste procedure. WikiProject India Newsletter: Volume II, Issue 2 - March 2007

Project News Plagiarism by the Times of India: Recently it was noticed that the Times of India, the world's largest distribution daily had systematically plagiarised many of Wikipedia's biographies on members of the Indian cricket team among other cricketers on its website, sometimes with errors propagated (details). After discussion and discovery of further plagiarisms in other fields, the issue reached the admin noticeboard archived here. Jimbo's visit to India and the WikiCamp in Chennai: Jimbo recently visited India in late February and early March on wiki work. This included a trip to a WikiCamp in Chennai. The one day conference attracted 300 participants from across India and beyond dealt with issues facing wikis ([1]). It was widely covered by the press, eg The Hindu( [2]), which cited the efforts of Bhadani (edit count), Sundar (leadership on Tamil Wikipedia) and Ganeshk (Creation of Ganeshbot to create articles on Indian towns from census figures). Ganeshk himself travelled from California to attend the conference. Wikipedia Weekly 15: Wikipedia Weekly, a informal Wikipedians' program that purports to give "A weekly audio roundup of Wikipedia happenings with news, interviews and roundtable discussions" recently interviewed two prominent editors Rama's Arrow and Ragib(listen). The entire 34 minute interview was entirely about the world of Indian subcontinent wiki-happenings, and was the first episode which was not entirely dominated by discussion of wiki-politics and wiki-bureaucracy, with the host Witty lama praising the efficiency of the project and its proliferation of featured content. Rama's Arrow cited the team spirit, friendship and respect among project members in discussing its success and FA productivity, as well as discussing subcontinental wiki-conflict. Ragib talked also of his public campaign to raise awareness of the Bengali Wikipedia in his native Bangladesh, which has seen a 30-fold increase in article count over the past year. Arbitration: Three cases are either in progress or have recently ended. Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan regarding the activities of various Indian and Pakistani editors on pages related to Indian subcontinent history topics, the national status of various pre-Partition figures, and edit-warring over Indic scripts and WikiProject tags was held and concluded in late February- early March. As a result of this, four Pakistani users, Siddiqui, Szhaider, Nadirali and Unre4L were all banned for one year for disruption via edit-warring and confrontationalism. Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sathya Sai Baba 2 regarding a dispute over the article of the religious teacher closed in early March with four users indefinitely banned from the article. Currently, Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/Freedom_skies is in the evidence phase. It is concerned with the editing of Freedom_skies, who edits articles on ancient Indian history, primarily civilisation articles such as Indian mathematics and related articles, as well as Buddhism articles such as Pusyamitra Sunga, as well as those pertaining to the propagation of Mahayana Buddhism to China such as Bodhidharma and Zen. What's New? Vijayanagara Empire Featured and Good Content: Eight articles: Vijayanagara Empire (nom), Delhi (nom), Pashtun people (nom), Nathu La (nom), Harbhajan Singh (nom), Hoysala architecture (nom), Harbhajan Singh (nom), Technopark, Kerala (nom) and Western Chalukya Empire (nom) were featured from our WikiProject recently, since our last edition. 'Dineshkannambadi has been a phenomenal force in the production of FAs recently, being responsible for three of these eight articles. He has totalled five FAs, all relating to Kannada history. Three portals: Portal:Hinduism (nom), Portal:West Bengal (nom) and Portal:Kerala (nom) were also featured. There were two additional GAs, Murali Kartik and Bhagat Singh.
