CfD closes

I see that you've been making some CfD closes. Have you been enacting all of your closes? For instance, I stumbled upon a close at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2016_August_10#Category:Australian_rugby_league_biography.2C_1990s_birth_stubs where Category:Australian rugby league biography, 1990s birth stubs still exists. It's extremely important that you enact any closes you make, as otherwise the discussion results will never occur. ~ Rob13Talk 15:26, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

@BU Rob13: Woah, I thought that I used AWB to change that. Anyway, I just went through and changed it all and tagged the appropriate pages for deletion. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! (っ◕‿◕)っ♥)(please reply using {{ping}}) 16:42, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
The appropriate way to upmerge stub categories is to change the category for the template as I did here, not to change the stub templates within the articles themselves. This allows us to break the stubs back out into their own category when there's enough articles tagged with that template (which is desirable in this case, where more notable players born in the 1990s are obviously forthcoming). I've declined the speedy on the template, as a template can't be deleted via CfD, and the category will empty shortly as the changes to the template propagate to every page its transcluded on. ~ Rob13Talk 17:08, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
@BU Rob13: Ah, I see. I didn't see that in the closing instructions so I assumed that I had to change the template and the such. Sorry about that. --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! (っ◕‿◕)っ♥)(please reply using {{ping}}) 23:51, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:EEng

User:EEng's suggestion that you withdraw this nomination immediately is good advice. Meters (talk) 07:23, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Look, Morbid, I shouldn't have flown off the handle, but you need to understand that while bold editing of articles is encouraged, bold technical activities, like nominations for deletion, are not. I see you recently raised the possibility of becoming an admin, which shows you don't realize yet how vast is the Wikipedia universe you need to learn about before you even think about applying for adminship. So please, slow down. And withdraw the MfD too. EEng 07:35, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
P.S. Re this edit [1], pings only work when they're part of an edit containing the ~~~~. If you add it later, nothing happens. For example, when I try to ping you now -- MorbidEntree -- in this P.S. added later, with no new ~~~~, you won't get a ping.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of UTC

Hello MorbidEntree. I noticed you closed this AfD as delete. Per WP:NAC you, as a non-admin, shouldn't close an AFD with a result you can't enact (i.e. delete). Non-admins should only close an AfD as keep or no consensus. The only time it would be okay to close an AFD as delete would be if an admin had deleted the page and had forgotten to close the AFD. In this case, it hadn't been deleted and an admin (Favonian) had to delete it, almost an hour after you closed it. - Yellow Dingo (talk) 08:36, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

I now see that Tavix as reverted your closure and restored the article. He cites WP:BADNAC and that is a policy you should have a look at. - Yellow Dingo (talk) 08:40, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
(edit conflict)@Yellow Dingo: Yes, this was already discussed on Tavix's user talk page. Also, Favonian hasn't deleted History of UTC? --MorbidEntree - (Talk to me! (っ◕‿◕)っ♥)(please reply using {{ping}}) 08:41, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
I restored it so it can be closed within process. -- Tavix (talk) 08:42, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
Yeah as Tavix said it was deleted (here) but Tavix restored it. And sorry for bringing this up again, I didn't realise you had already discussed it. - Yellow Dingo (talk) 08:43, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

RE: Nomination of 25th Anniversary Collection (The Monkees album) for deletion

I personally do feel that the article should remain included in Wikipedia, for several reasons. Unfortunately most of those reasons are difficult to express into words. I guess the bottom line is that the article still has information on it, and that information is still valid, as it does contain official information which isn't found anywhere else on Wikipedia. I don't see how the information is going to be merged into other articles. What exactly are the main reasons why the article was nominated for deletion? Perhaps if I was given a more detailed explanation of the issues, I might be able to address them. I know that I've already partaken in the discussion, but I felt that leaving a message on your talk page still held significance. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:40, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

We'd like to invite you to participate in a user study closely related to SuggestBot. User:Another Article is seeking to understand more about the workflow and time commitment of contributors to the English Wikipedia. As part of this study you will occasionally be prompted to answer questions about your editing activity, and these questions should never take more than a minute or two to complete. The intended length of the study is two weeks, but your actual time commitment is totally up to you. If you would like to see more details you can read the project proposal at Research:Measuring editor time commitment and workflow (on meta), but if you are feeling bold and would like just like to sign up right now you can add the line importScript("User:Another_Article/workflowstudyclient.js"); to your common.js.
