Compute Card moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Compute Card, does not have enough sources and does not have much content. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 94rain Talk 08:52, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Versions of macOS edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Versions of macOS. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Macintosh operating systems. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Macintosh operating systems. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. DGG ( talk ) 05:35, 25 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Stop. edit

You need to absolutely stop editing Wikipedia until you learn what an encyclopedia is and how anything works. You have been on a spastic editing spree of junk and have been reverted, wasting the time of a lot of people. You've done a lot of disruptive editing bordering on vandalism, and you should have been blocked for this already. — Smuckola(talk) 18:08, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Windows XP Professional SP3 retail box label edit

A tag has been placed on Windows XP Professional SP3 retail box label requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

I don't know what to say, this is not nonsense but totally utterly useless

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". August 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:30, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Most of my edits are good edits. For example, in Macintosh 512K I made spelling fixes, I moved Apple Guide to its correct name, and other edits that are good to Wikipedia. Also, I finally fixed my bug! I'm now re-reading "Your first article" and "Editing policy". Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 12:21, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The responses below make me worry that competence issues may also be a factor. Having reviewd your edit history, I have serious concerns about your ability to edit productively, and do not see that it would be in Wikipedia's interest to lift this block. Yunshui  08:06, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I've merged your requests, as only one open request is needed. Subsequent comments should be standard, unformatted comments. 331dot (talk) 12:25, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

K6ka Could you clarify the basis of the NOTHERE claim? 331dot (talk) 12:28, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

A glance at this user's deleted edits is eye-opening. I would expect any unblock to be conditional on an agreement to cease creating redirect pages or nonsense articles. Yunshui  16:39, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
That, and given the nonsense here, here, and here, and I cannot see how this editor can be taken seriously enough to edit the encyclopedia. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 19:22, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK. Then how about unblocking me for everything but creating articles? Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 19:32, 11 August 2019 (UTC) And then a few months later, I can learn my lesson about article creation? Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 19:32, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

How about you address the reasons for your block, which were primarily centered around your inappropriate page creations (despite receiving numerous warnings), rather than just talking about your "good" edits? I can't imagine why an editor making good edits would also create obviously bad articles and ignore warnings about it. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 01:59, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't know why. I'm looking at some resources right now, and by the end of the month, I'll start making good articles. For now, you can unblock editing, but please do not unblock article creation right now. Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 02:08, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't know why. Then you are not getting unblocked. And for the record, we cannot block you from creating new pages while also regranting you the ability to edit other pages; if you are unblocked, you can edit and create almost all pages, and if you are blocked, you cannot edit or create any pages except for this one. We can unblock you on condition that you do not create any new pages (with the understanding that doing so again will probably lead to you being blocked immediately again), but I'm not comfortable with even that if the best response you can give is I don't know. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:14, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK. The answer is that I didn't know that creating new pages on Wikipedia has a more critical impact on Wikipedia than just editing pages does. The answer is that I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE GOOD ARTICLES. [1] Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 14:16, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have removed your ability to edit this page given your inappropriate edits here. Before making another request, read the guide to appealing blocks, then submit your appeal to the UTRS. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 15:26, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

What is the NOTHERE claim? edit

What is the NOTHERE claim? I don't know what it is! Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 16:57, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I read the NOTHERE claim. edit

OK. I now understand that Wikipedia is not here to build an encyclopedia.

I need to make an edit to "/wiki/Apple_Card#Daily_Cash", changing the "physical card" link from "/wiki/Apple_Card#Physical_Card" to "/wiki/Apple_Card#Titanium_card".

This is an example of one of the good edits that I want to make. Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 16:57, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I understand about blocking. edit

I understand that I will made all good edits from now on, I understand that I'm blocked, and I'll never do it again. Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 16:55, 11 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Unblock message edit

It has been a year now. I've learned a lot since then.

Wikipedia is not a place to express yourself. It is not a way to advertise or promote things. It is not a personal blog or forum. And it is not a place to spam. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia where people are there to learn things.

I also do Reddit (u/JamesNicodemus) and Twitter (@techboyg5). I understand that Wikipedia is not Reddit or Twitter.

When I am unblocked I will improve articles. For example, I would fix spelling errors and add citations where needed.

You've evaded your block a couple times by editing while logged out, but what worries me is that your IP addresses were blocked several times for disruption. That was a while ago, though. What I'd like you to do is to propose an encyclopedic addition to one our articles and include a citation to a reliable source. It can be anything. A fact about your favorite film, or maybe a review of a video game, or maybe some news about a new Nvidia technology. Or a fact about butterflies. Whatever. Just try to make it look more encyclopedic than the stuff you've been blocked for in the past. Post it here on your talk page and make another unblock request. After you do that, I think we could probably unblock you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 10:13, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

No. Are you sure you have read and understood WP:RS and WP:CITE? Really?!? --Yamla (talk) 16:03, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I have read those before, but I am not sure what a "reliable source" is. Does it mean a popular source? Would adding more then one source (there are lots of them here) help at all? Michael Boy Jordan (talk) 16:41, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

No that's not at all what it means, and this is moot because this content is also unencyclopedic as per WP:NOTMANUAL. This is indiscriminate WP:TRIVIA which is btw needlessly formatted into a gigantic and mostly blank table WP:UNDUE. And yes I know it's exactly the kind of information that you were advised above to hunt for, which is very wrong and it absolutely can not be anything. The examples given you above are mostly exactly what not to do, as per WP:CIR WP:TRIVIA WP:NOTNEWS and a lot of WP:NOT. This is not easy, it's the hardest possible thing, and it is not for everybody. What the esteemed colleague (and most Wikipedia culture) meant to say was to advise finding one character of one typographical error. One. One perfectly clear error in existing vital data. That is the easiest thing, instead of the actually hardest possible thing that most people will never understand and should totally avoid forever. And instead, just enjoy reading Wikipedia and encourage others to do likewise! — Smuckola(talk) 16:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
