Disambiguation link notification for May 23 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lubbock, Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Permian Basin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

NCAA Women's Division II Basketball Championship / NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship edit

Hi Lubbockite - I noticed you recently changed the title of this article. This make it inconsistent with the titles for the Division I and III articles, and with most other NCAA women's sports - see template {{Major women's sport leagues in North America}} for some examples. Is there any reason to rename only this article? Colonies Chris (talk) 21:57, 9 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Colonies Chris: While trying to create a 2016 tournament article for NCAA Division II, I followed the naming convention I'd previously worked with in the article title 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament. It wasn't until after moving the NCAA Division II article and categories that I noticed the inconsistencies across multiple women's and men's sports articles and categories that used both (and sometimes interchangeably, like women's basketball season categories in NCAA Division I) when I began using Template:Infobox college basketball tournament. Various articles and categories use either of the following:
[Association] [Gender] [Division] [Sport] Championship
or
[Association and Division] [Gender] [Sport] Championship
Seems to make more sense to use the format for the parent articles like NCAA Division I Women's... vs NCAA Women's Division I. This topic is larger than this conversation though and a consensus needs to be reached for all sports in every association before moving and correcting (i.e.: all articles and categories to have correct consistency: 1952-1972 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament → 1952-1972 NCAA University Division Men's Basketball Tournament, AIAW Women's Basketball Tournament → AIAW Basketball Tournament, etc.). SVG files edit

Please do not upload a PNG file into Inkscape and then save it as an "SVG" file. It doesn't work that way and it causes a disaster others have to clean up. Also, there was nothing wrong with this file being shortened as Commons:File:Texas Tech Ag & Natural logo.svg. The new name is simply way too long. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 21:33, 25 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Then you can clean it up the disaster you've started. There was already a previous discussion about not using unit specific logos that you added. I wasn't the only one to think the correct name wasn't way too long if it was moved by someone with permission.. Lubbockite (talk) 22:05, 25 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
No, the disaster is fixing the SVG logo that wasn't properly converted to an SVG. As for that discussion, that was eight years ago with editors who are no longer active on Wikipedia. Users will pretty much move a file for whatever the nominator's reasoning is. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 22:13, 25 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Glad nothing is every carried on after those who have gone before us... Sounds like you're smart enough to fix it. Enjoy. Lubbockite (talk) 22:22, 25 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks! edit

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV
References that have scores, lists, order of merit and video do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NSPORT. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - you may wish to read WP:NSPORT ) To meet notability requirements, a few references with significant coverage will suffice. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
