Bochum edit
Thank you for your recent edit to this page. However, this sentence doesn't quite make sense: "A total of 2007 live on an urban area of 145.4 sq km in total 376 586 inhabitants." There were another couple of mistakes, an English word left out and a German word (well, part of one, in any event) left in that I removed, but it would be nice if you could take care of this one yourself. Amerind edit
The HUGE embedded list is not helpful but effectively breaks the readability of the article. If you think it is important that readers have acces to the putative members of this unsupported language family I think you should build a list and place a link to the list in the article. The MOS clearly says to avoid embedded lists of this size.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 19:43, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not only is the "huge embedded list" helpful, but it's the whole point of the Amerind hypothesis. Whether you agree with the hypothesis or not, an article about a hypothesis should say what the hypothesis, well, hypothesizes. The Amerind theory says "the following languages are related...." List
The list is not a list of individual languages, it is a classifiction scheme of language groups. When I produced the list, I tried to make it as short as possible based on which groups already had Wikipedia articles. For the most part, it is only the "leaves" of the tree that are blue-lettered. That's because higher-up groupings don't have articles. (That was the plan anyway; more has been added by people who thought that a more extensive list would be even more helpful).
I don't understand why you just removed such a huge chunk of content without discussing it on the talk page first. Listmeister (talk) 20:45, 15 July 2012 (UTC)- Hey there, I just saw this discussion. I don't know much about the topic/subject matter, however I think you'd be better off using Template:Clade in its place. I know it's quite an undertaking updating the to this type, but it'd be the best way to fit the manual of style, and tighten it all up. In all honesty, most language-oriented articles with etymological and origination validation should use this to explain the sources, but I digress. I haven't the time to update this, so I'd recommend having a look at how you can implement this. Also, as it's a table, it can be made collapsible; perhaps even nesting the collapses might have some merit (if you're savvy enough with how to do this using wiki; I haven't looked at your edit history to ascertain your skill level). Backlog drive edit
Hello Listmeister,
WikiProject Orphanage is holding a month long Backlog Elimination Drive to de-orphan articles which have orphan tags!
The goal is to eliminate the backlog of orphan articles. There are currently 59168 articles which have orphan tags. The drive is running from April 12, 2014 to May 12, 2014.

deOrphaning script edit
Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.
What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.
