Hello KellyChristineN. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Bridget Karlin, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:KellyChristineN. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=KellyChristineN|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – bradv🍁 03:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure how to respond to this message, so I'll write a response here. I DID NOT RECEIVE A SINGLE PAYMENT FROM ANYONE TO WRITE THIS POST. NOT ONE. And I can prove it. I was simply excited about a woman in tech and went over board with the research (I guess wrongfully) because I'm trying to become a better researcher for personal reasons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KellyChristineN (talkcontribs) 00:12, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I saw your note on the Articles for Creation help desk. I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time getting this article published. I can see quite a few news sources involving Bridget Karlin such as this one, so it ought to be possible to get a draft written in an acceptable state one way or another. I'd advise you to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red which is a major grass-roots project dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of women and women's history and I'll ping two of my colleagues Rosiestep and Megalibrarygirl who work on this stuff day in, day out, and who will have a much better idea on what to do. Oh my goodness, thank you!! Thank you so much. This is the nicest thing I've seen on here. I will check out that link. I'm a bit unfamiliar with the coding of this website so forgive me if I don't sign properly. Thank you again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nomorewriting (talkcontribs) 16:25, February 2, 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for introducing us, Ritchie333. Hello, Nomorewriting. Glad you're here, editing Wikipedia. If you'd like some assistance with a woman's biography, have a question about how to edit, or just want to touch base with someone, you are warmly welcome to stop by the talkpage of Women in Red where our friendly "page watchers" are hanging out. Unfortunately, I don't work on WP:BLP articles, which is why I'm not able to assist you with the Bridget Karlin biography. Nonetheless, I hope this helps. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:50, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I've added a bunch of other news sources documenting Karlin's appearances at the Consumer Electronics Show panels and some other case studies of her work at IBM Consulting Services, and moved the draft into mainspace at Bridget Karlin so other editors can work on it. I appreciate your help with this. I'll be sure to follow up in the next couple of days. Nomorewriting (talk) 20:48, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
