December 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Volksparkstadion, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for November 19 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Muhteşem Yüzyıl, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page GEM TV (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Farsi links to British motorways edit

Hi Kasir,

I noticed that you are adding Farsi links to British motorways. I have reverted your M3 addition and you re-instated it. The correct place to add such links is here (for the M2) where they will automatically be picked up by the English language Wikipedia. You can access the relevant index page if you click "Edit links" at the bottom of the left-hand column of the English-language page. This facility is being rolled out across all the langauges of Wikipedia - if you go to Farsi version of Kilogram, you will see the links for that article.

Happy editing

Farsi help needed edit

Hello Kasir, I'm contacting you because we need some Farsi translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on fa.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Farsi Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 19:53, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Yazd Loleh FC.png) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Yazd Loleh FC.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 19:49, 30 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Timestamp edit

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that when updating player statistics both in career stats section and infobox, you MUST update the timestamp to say when update was made. This is done by updting the club-update or pc-update parameter in the infobox by using five tildes, and in the carrer stats section just updating the date above the table. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you. QED237 (talk) 21:15, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Refusing to update the timestamp is disruptive and I have had people blocked for that in the past so dont say I am disruptive when I am reverting incorrect edits. QED237 (talk) 11:15, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:14, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Karate1 Premier League moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Karate1 Premier League, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Stats in football players' infoboxes edit

Hello, I'm Jaellee. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Markus Neumayr were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, --Jaellee (talk) 17:34, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's WP:GNG guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Sture Hult moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Sture Hult, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). September 2023 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Gymnastics at the 2022 Asian Games. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! March 2024 edit

Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Karamoko Kéïta article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 19:14, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@GiantSnowman: You don't know anything about football, www.national-football-teams.com is a source of national statistics, Ask a question or check the source first, then revert the edit --Kasir talk 21:06, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

No - the burden is on YOU to provide the source when you make the edit, not after you are challenged. GiantSnowman 21:37, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Former cinemas in Iran edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Former cinemas in Iran indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 02:24, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
