Speedy deletion nomination of Capitals-Penguins rivalry
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created, Capitals-Penguins rivalry, was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. WNYY98 (talk) 19:54, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
The article Penguins-Red Wings rivalry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Contains no encyclopedic information. Does not satisfy general notability or sports notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:15, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
Article creation
editThe articles you are trying to create might be notable topics but you need to produce content immediately that demonstrates that they are notable topics. Starting an infobox and then publishing the content is not the way to go about it. I suggest you try again by using the Draft namespace where you can work on articles without that pressure to have enough content from the outset. Nthep (talk) 20:19, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
Stanley Cup playoff articles
editHey, I'm sorry that I had to revert a couple of the edits that you made to a few of these articles. It's nothing personal and anything that added relevant content to an article was kept.
Hopefully, you continue trying to add more content to these articles in future. Deadman137 (talk) 07:04, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
Stanley Cup playoff articles
editHey no problem, Deadman. I included the (W-L-T-OTL) thing to give readers an understanding of how to read the series records, but if you don't feel it should be there, that's cool. I did have to put the Anaheim-Detroit and Chicago-Detroit rivalries under the "historical" category, because I genuinely feel those rivalries have completely died out because we (I'm a Red Wings fan) only play them twice a season and have never had a string of Stanley Cup Finals meetings, which I feel creates interconference rivalries (such as Edmonton-New York Islanders and Edmonton-Philadelphia in the 1980s, and Detroit-Pittsburgh in the late 2000s). Thanks for getting back to me! jewel15
Canucks–Flames rivalry
editOn this article, the all-time series is specifically between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, not including stats from the Atlanta Flames. Please do not revert this. I don't want an edit war. Conyo14 (talk) 04:09, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
Canucks-Flames rivalry
editHey I'm sorry Conyo. I did not know that your info was based on the all-time series since the Flames relocated from Atlanta. I thought it was just someone trying to be difficult. Just curious, did you make this article? jewel15
Yes, I created the page for the article; all the info was on National Hockey League rivalries so really, I just moved the section in the rivalries article onto its own separate page while adding on some info into the Canucks Flames rivalry. Conyo14 (talk) 18:25, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Original Six in 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs
editBecause it was not mentioned in 2011 nor 2014, there really is no need to mention it here on this article neither. Conyo14 (talk) 04:27, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Non-free image use
editThank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Flyers–Penguins rivalry, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:17, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
Hey, Marchjuly, sorry about that. I am new to Wikipedia, and thought that since those images were on another Wiki page, I could copy and paste them. Now I know why the hockey rivalry pages do not have team logos uploaded anymore. I didn't want to be difficult. Thanks for letting me know.
- That's fine. Image use, partilculary non-free image use, can be a tricky thing sometimes and more experienced editors than yourself make often make mistakes. In general, non-free team logos are OK for stand-alone article about the team in question when they are used as the primary means of identification at the top of the article, but much harder to justify in other articles about individual seasons or rivalries, etc. or when used in other sections of an article. You use anything which is freely licensed or public domain if you want since such files are not subject to Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. Someone may have uploaded wordmarks for the teams, so trying checking c:Category:National Hockey League logos to see if there's any you want to use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:02, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Historic NHL Rivalries Head-to-Head
editIf a rivalry is historic, then head-to-heads must be within the years listed, otherwise you're including updated stats that could suggest the rivalry is still on-going. Ex: MTL-QUE rivalry is specifically between Montreal and Quebec not Montreal and Colorado, so including stats about Montreal and Quebec plus Colorado would suggest Montreal still has a rivalry with a team (the Nordiques) that does not exist. You are welcome to put head-to-heads for the years listed for that section.
Also a reference is unnecessary for this statistic. Conyo14 (talk) 19:19, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
Ok, that is much clearer than what you put down as a reason to delete the head-to-head record. I thought you meant that posting anything that related to the Wings' and Ducks' head to head record is irrelevant info. Jewel15 (talk) 21:35, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
Explaining
editI patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 03:49, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
Caps–Pens rivalry
editSo I have made a large edit to your new page, please look over the changes I made and feel free to revert some stuff or ask me anything.
P.S. In regards to the W–L–T situation, don't. keep at W–L–T–OT for regular season for all head-to-heads. If a team doesn't have OT/SO losses just put 0. Conyo14 (talk) 22:47, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
- So I got rid of the markings due to the fact that you created an English article, and by wiki standards, the marings are only for their specific articles. When mentioned on other articles such as the one in question, they must adhere to English-wiki standards (no markings). I hope this has helped. Conyo14 (talk) 04:47, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
That helps. I did not know that rule. Jewel15 (talk) 10:43, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

NFL rivalry tables discussion
editHi Jewel15
I noticed that you were editing the format of the results tables for a couple of NFL Rivalry pages, namely those for the Dolphins-Patriots rivalry and the Bills-Jets rivalry. I wanted to get your feedback on why you wanted to revert those tables back to the original format from a more current template that can be found here, and if the new format was too difficult to see or navigate.
Thanks--WuTang94 (talk) 06:38, 8 October 2018 (UTC)

Bruins-Leafs rivalry
editHi there. Thanks for your work on NHL rivalry related pages. I think a Bruins–Maple Leafs rivalry article is overdue due for creation. A redirect was made in 2016 to the NHL rivalries page, and there isn't even a summary section there—that should at least be there. Obviously the rivalry has been hotly contested ever since the 2013 Playoffs into the playoffs a couple years back and now, but does have some history as well. If you have time, I'd encourage its creation—I don't have the exact time or knowledge to bring give this a wide overview, but would certainly help if you decide to create it in the near future. I'd rather not deal with the stats part, but I could do most of the body. Let me know. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 16:50, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi Vaselineeeeeeee. I enjoy working on NHL rivalry pages, so I’m pleased to see you appreciate my work on them. During the NHL offseason, I’d be happy to work on a Bruins–Maple Leafs rivalry page. I must ask, what is it you want me to do? Research stats as well as game recaps? Let me know and I’ll be on it when the time comes. Thanks! Jewel15 (talk) 09:16, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for the support. Yes, mostly stats like the ones in the infobox, but perhaps some of the earlier history as well. I'll probably start working on it in my sandbox in a week or so. I put the Leafs-Red Wings rivalry page there as a template; feel free to edit in my sandbox whenever you have a chance. Thanks so much. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 13:10, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
