December 2019 edit

Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Srinagar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 12:04, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for my mistake. But, Shri means Lakshmi and nagar means city. So, I thought this city named by Goddess Lakshmi. Jawale Kiran (talk) 14:04, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
"Sri" can mean a hundred things. But if you want to associate a specific deity, you need a reliable source for it. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:20, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I don't know how to add citation. Can to give me steps? Jawale Kiran (talk) 19:04, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Hinduism in India, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 19:55, 3 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did on Religion in Kerala. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - Arjayay (talk) 13:08, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Religion in Maharashtra. - Arjayay (talk) 16:59, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Religion in Maharashtra, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - Arjayay (talk) 18:16, 4 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Marathi Hindus moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Marathi Hindus, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 08:34, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Again, we have to take care to cite sources for everything we add to Wikipedia. In addition, it doesn't appear to be necessary to split this information from the Manipur article just yet, it can be enough to add sourced content to the Manipur article and then split if the section is getting too large. – Thjarkur (talk) 13:41, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Aurangabad into Aurangabad district, Maharashtra. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:09, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
