Welcome! edit

Hello, Havenzeye, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

January 2023 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Kingdom of Aksum, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 21:57, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

February 2023 edit

Hello, I'm MaterialWorks. I noticed that in this edit to Aksumite invasion of Himyar, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. MaterialWorks (talk) 18:58, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

June 2023 edit

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to List of largest empires. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. TompaDompa (talk) 12:57, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Zara Yaqob, you may be blocked from editing. Please don't insert new information in front of an existing citation that doesn't support it. The source mentions the Sheikh Hanafi Mosque but not in this context (only that it's 500 years old & in Massawa). If another source corroborates your statement, then please properly cite it. Disambiguation link notification for June 11 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Al Nejashi Mosque, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CE. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

July 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Lone-078. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kerma culture, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Lone-078 (talk) 15:26, 4 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Blocked as a sockpuppet edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:BasedHistorian PHD per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BasedHistorian PHD. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I think that a misunderstanding has occurred for me (Havenzeye) to be blocked as a "sockpuppet" since I genuinely have never heard of "BasedHistorian PHD" who I apparently am a sockpuppet to and have zero idea that this situation has been occurring at all. I am simply a user who is interested in history, more specifically Ethiopian history and would like to make a change in a section of Wikipedia not very well put together in my opinion. Maybe my proactiveness in this section of the wiki may have led to a connection between my edits and edits by other sockpuppet accounts but I can assure you I have nothing to do with this at all.

Havenzeye (talk) 15:29, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Barkeep49 (talk) 18:50, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • I've taken another look at the CU data. In retrospect, my calling it   Likely was probably an overstatement. The similarities are mostly geolocations to the same country, but a country where geolocations are known to be problematic. Whoever reviews this should treat the CU data as   Possible and consider the obligation to consult with a CU before unblocking to have been discharged. RoySmith (talk) 16:27, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is there then a possibility of me getting unblocked? Havenzeye (talk) 16:43, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I had some conversations off-wiki with @Barkeep49 and we jointly came to the conclusion that my original evaluation of the checkuser data was incorrect. I see that you've already been unblocked (despite the message above declining your request!) so I'll just ask that you please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. August 2023 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Ottoman conquest of Habesh. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. You know very well that it wasn't an Ethiopian victory, stop disrupting that page and provide sources. محرر البوق (talk) 18:02, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

It was an Ethiopian victory in the sense that the Ottomans would not be able to conquer Abyssinia and how after Ozdemir Pasha died, their conquests would mostly be reversed Havenzeye (talk) 15:07, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
