License tagging for File:Ill Show You cover.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ill Show You cover.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Ill Show You cover.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ill Show You cover.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:49, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Closure of Article for Deletion discussions edit

In the future, please do not attempt close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion discussions as delete. As you are not an administrator, you are unable to actually delete an article and blanking the article, Geoffrey James (writer), does not constitute deletion of the article. I have reverted your closure of the AfD, as well as the blanking of the article, so that it may be properly closed by an administrator and properly deleted. Also, as you appear to be a relatively new user, you should frankly not be attempting to close discussions of any kind, until you gain more experience with Wikipedia. And if you do choose to attempt to close a deletion discussion in the future, it should only be in cases where a clear consensus exists to keep the article. Thanks. Deletion discussion about Islamic terrorism crisis in France edit

Hello, HalloweenNight,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Islamic terrorism crisis in France should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Islamic terrorism crisis in France .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

November 2015 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Caitlyn Jenner. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.

You cannot claim fair use of a copyrighted image when it is possible that a free image may be obtained. She's not dead so there is always the possibility of obtaining afree image. Inthis case we already have one, so there is even less incentive to try to use a non-free image. Meters (talk) 20:33, 16 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Caitlyn Jenner.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Caitlyn Jenner.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ahecht (TALK

Your contributed article, Fastest-selling album edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Fastest-selling album. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – List of fastest-selling albums. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at List of fastest-selling albums – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. In veritas (talk) 20:04, 24 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Lead images edit

Your edit warring without discussing on the talk page as requested, ignorring 3RR, which implies you're too busy or don't know how. This same topic about using lead images sometimes comes up, recently as for William Shatner. As noted there, "it's appropriate to have a lead photo which supports a person's primary notability, regardless of whether they're alive or not. Readers benefit from an instantly recognizable image, as opposed to a recent candid at some public event, which can give an article a newsy feel. When readers scroll to sections about someone's more recent personal life, it's logical to have any relevant images included there."

As for Streisand, the same reasoning fits and has been discussed. Other actor images: Faye Dunaway, Dustin Hoffman, Elaine May, Kirk Douglas, Jerry Lewis, Cher, Lee Grant, Neil Simon, Warren Beatty, and Luise Rainer. Streisand's most recent biography uses a similar photo for the cover. This is an encyclopedia, not the Hollywood Reporter, which gives us current event images of stars. --Light show (talk) 19:18, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sidewalk Labs edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sidewalk Labs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Angels edit

It's not a question of liking it or not liking it. It's a question of verified notability. I suggest you read WP:WEB about notability for web content (or WP:GNG if it isn't actually on the web, as it appears to be), and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove it. The kinkyangels website cannot be used to show notability. Peridon (talk) 22:25, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
