Please do not go against consensus edit

Saludos, and welcome to Wikipedia. Here, we work through consensus when dealing with controversial actions regarding articles. In the Reggaeton article, the title does not have an acute accent as in Spanish because there was a discussion a while back, which can be found here, in which it was decided to keep the title without the accent. So, please do not move the page again without consensus. If you want it to be moved, please leave a message at the talk page saying so. ¡Gracias! --Agüeybaná 23:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Snoop ss2007.JPG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Snoop ss2007.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:29, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sigh edit

Man you're a nuisance, seriously ask yourself this question. Have you really made an improvement by continually choosing to have things your way? Really take a look at what you have done and how it was before. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 07:41, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you created a page for Who's Your Daddy? Look, just because a single is released doesn't mean it's noteworthy enough to have it's own article on wikipedia, but if you are going to make one then make it sound encyclopedic and less opinionated, at least! TeePee-20.7 (talk) 08:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I mean dude unless you truly want to improve these articles, why don't you find something else to do. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 08:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reply:

Chico to be honest you've pissed me off with some of the shit you done. Like I admit because of you, we have made articles better like Gasolina is alot better from when we both first started editing that article. And in a way I'm thankful we have debated to improve articles, because that's what wikipedia is about. But yeh man you have to understand that this is an encyclopedia and the way you write articles and the tone they have, have to be encyclopedic in nature. So yeh what first got me irritated was you making major edits and marking them as minor when you are not even sure if the edit you are making is in fact factual! The second thing was as you mentioned, the edit battle we were in over chronology. Every time I made an edit to make the article correct you would revert my edit or if some random had made an edit inbetween you would mark it as minor. And then I in return did the exact same thing so you could feel how I felt when your effort and time to make the article right gets changed entirely and marked as minor. So then when you continued to do it I explained to you first on the template via the edit summary, and then on the respective pages. So then you aknowledged the fact it wasn't a single and turned it the infobox into a song format (which is an improvement by the way) but in doing so you made detrimental edits by removing the song from two categories. And now you have made the template look unprofesional by adding "other songs" to it. I mean a rule of thumb which seems to help me if you don't want to read all the guidlines to wikipedia, is looking at articles which have been rated highly (the better rating, the better article the article is to go by) and then basing your edits on that. I mean go and have a look at all the featured music artists' templates, I bet you will not find one which says "other songs". And about Who's Your Daddy, I'm not looking down on the article I just don't think it should have been made to begin with. I mean if this song was eventually released it did not even chart and Daddy Yankee or his manager or whoever decides on making the videos for his songs, did not feel this song was worth putting money and time into making a video for it. But it doesn't matter now because you made it so now you just need to improve it. Do this by changing the tone to be more encyclopedic and not having opinion sounding sentences in it "the female voice guest remains a mystery.". I'll give you sometime to try improving it because we're all here to improve wikipedia, and then I'll go over it and try improving it. So finally I'm glad you did take the time to respond to me and try and sort out the stuff between us, and yes I am taking it seriously because it is kind of a big deal as the whole world views wikipedia and we should take pride in trying to make the articles the most factual, well written and just all round best that we can make them. Template/Mensaje de Estado edit

Aright we coo now, I'm glad we have gotten over our feud and understand where we're both coming from. Yeh I can understand how you might have thought it was an official single due to it's airplay but chico to be honest that kind of shit happens all the time. Like radio stations pick up albums and then they may choose to play a track that they like on their own even if it was not issued as an official single, and then if they recieve good feedback from the song they may add it to their playlist and this leads to it being heard by many listeners. This process can also influence the record comapnies choice on what song's to release as singles. That's why you may have noticed some songs that have been leaked or recieve massive airplay may become singles even if they were meant to be 2nd singles or even not set to be a single at all. But yeh with this song it was released as an advertisement for the album and was probably issued to many radio stations but it was only a promotional song for the album and this was confirmed with the promotional video they made for it. Now about mentioning it in the template while keeping the template professional looking is something which may be tricky as I havn't seen anything similar on any artists' templates. So I'm going to start by looking at the templates of other popular artists for a basis and see if I can come across something similar. You can also do this to if you want, I think I'm going to hit up people like 50 cent, Jay-Z and other popular urban artists as they're the closest we got for using as a basis. As they are mainstream, urban and they have good ratings. We can't use any other Reggaeton artist as a basis because Daddy Yankee is the best rated article we have on a reggaeton artist. So yeh sall gud now man & dw bout wat hapnd i was jus pissd coz it all built up u no, but newaiz yeh gasolina is heapz betr now n its gud u wana help keep doin it but jus xplain in tha edit summary if yo gon change an article round. Aright paz fuera! TeePee-20.7 (talk) 17:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay so one thing I've noticed when looking through templates is that even for the most high profile artists there are many differences. So I was thinking how about we change it to Promotional songs or singles or even Promo songs or singles? What do you think? Let me know. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 11:33, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeh that's why I said songs too. Aright well just get back to me and let me know what you're thinking. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 02:25, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

En Lo Claro edit

Congratulations man you did great on that article like 4 realz man now it's heapz good and before it was crap! So congratulations man I'm glad you took the time to make that article the way it is and I'm glad you're helping the Reggaeton community by helping improve it's articles. I don't need to touch a thing man it's very well done the way it is, you should be proud. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 05:27, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Chulin Culin Chunfly edit

Well it looks aright the way you've done it now so good work on creating it because it was his biggest hit and a pretty big hit in reggaeton too. And about Mensaje de Estado, I most definitely don't think we should take it off the template as it is notable enough to be included on his template and just because similar artists havn't been as inovative enough and released teaser songs like Daddy Yankee has doesn't mean he shouldn't have the song officially recognised on his template. I'm going to change it to promotional songs so if you have any problems with that let me know on my talk page. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 05:51, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well if I can remember correctly you sourced it from a forum which goes against wikipedia policy. But I'm reverting it back anyway the guy who was having an edit war with you was just on a power trip. BTW are you positive on the spelling of this song? I never brought the single and I'm not completey sure how you spell it. I've seen it spelt as Chulin Culin Cunflai in various occasions and many people aren't sure on how you spell it.TeePee-20.7 (talk) 05:47, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeh don't worry like I said before that guys tripping and if he continues and we get a 4th party invovled I don't think he'll have things his way for much longer. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 15:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Voltio (album) edit

Goodwork chico you fixed up that article quite a bit, but you need to watch how you write articles because all your articles sound opinionated and not encyclopedic in tone. Try not to use weasel words and look at other popular articles related to the one your fixing or creating and base your edits on that. I fixed it up a bit to make it sound more encyclopedic so remember just keep it encyclopedic, but yeh goodwork you really are helping the reggaeton community! Paz Fuera. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 17:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Give it 2 me edit

Oh okay well I don't usually get invovled in any articles apart from Reggaeton but yeh I just had a quick look and it looks aright. But don't worry there's plenty of people who will be keeping an eye on anything madonna related, I mean she's one of the best selling artists worldwide. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 04:07, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Talento de Barrio edit

I noticed your edits to the soundtrack and you just got to remember not to take ownership of articles. You removed all those tracks from the article because they don't have sources, but honestly chico neitha do the ones you kept! If someone wanted to debate this with you, then they would win because none of the tracks provide sources. But anyway I won't change it from your edit but you just need to make sure you don't have that ownership mentality because it goes against you. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 08:16, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

No Worries man, I'm just looking out for you and letting you know some of the problems most editors face when first starting. But yeh even though I'm 100% positive Somos de Calle will be on it and about 99% sure solido is going to be on it, ideally even these two tracks should have references. So yeh see if you can find sources for all of them. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 01:55, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Arcangel y De La Ghetto edit

Aright coo I'll keep an eye on them and fix any minor mistakes, but you can do the major editing because I personally don't have a great interest in Arcangel. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 01:58, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Madonna (entertainer) edit

Please do not revert my genre edit on the Madonna (entertainer) article. "Pop" doesn't necessarily sum up the different styles of music she's done throughout her career. Take a look at other artist's articles for yourself and you'll see what I mean. Thank you. El Cangri386 14:27, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is a matter on which you need to add your comments in a discussion just recently begun on the Talk page rather than begin an edit war. There are several issues here. First, an infobox is a very brief summary. There probably are many genres that could apply to Madonna, but they don't all belong in a the infobox. If they did, the infobox would no longer be an infobox; it would be an article section. Only the most generic should be included. "Pop" and "Rock" are quite generic, although they do not include every single instance of music she has recorded. Secondly, these details are matters of opinion, and neither your opinion nor mine is superior to others. That's why we have talk pages and consensus. The same argument was fought out bitterly on The Beatles, with a consensus finally emerging to include two generic genres. We haven't reached that point for Madonna's page, but we may be on our way. Please discuss on the talk page. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 16:03, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Madonna (entertainer). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. As you have already been told, please discuss this issue at the ongoing discussion on the talk page. Please do not edit war. Ward3001 (talk) 17:05, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dude, I don't wanna be in an edit war, and don't plan on having problems with anything. But I've done the same thing on other artist's pages of different music types and typed down their different music styles and I even noted them from reliable sources. Yes, pop is pretty much what you call Madonna's music, but rock doesn't necessarily sum up all the different styles of music she's done. Yes she has had some rock influences in some of her music, and I even included that on the article, but for some reason you have a problem with that. I'm not gonna continue with this rediculous edit war, and obviously I can't even talk about it on the talk page because you'll probably do it again. So I will leave the article as is. If you actually listen to her music, you would know that "rock" doesn't describe all of her music. Listen to Bedtime Stories or Erotica or the I'm Breathless soundtrack and you'll see what I mean. El Cangri386 17:13, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
One last time: This discussion belongs at Talk:Madonna (entertainer)#Genre:. I may respond to your comments there, but no longer to your comments on my talk page. It's your choice as to whether you want to be a part of that discussion. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 17:28, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well I've posted my say on the talk page, and you've yet to respond or show any sign or agreement or disagreement. Dude it's common sense to know (if you know a lot of her music) that her music is NOT defined by just pop and rock. Just look at the genre list on her album's articles. El Cangri386 21:40, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dude ... please try very hard to understand a few things:
  • you've yet to respond or show any sign or agreement or disagreement: I have already disagreed with you. I have no obligation to disagree again.
  • Dude it's common sense to know ...: Dude ... it's your common sense. What is common sense to you is not common sense to everyone. Everyone doesn't see things the way you see things. Everyone doesn't agree with you. You don't determine how others think, understand, and opine. The discussion isn't about you, it's about what is best for the article.
  • if you know a lot of her music: I knew Madonna's music quite well before you were born.
  • her music is NOT defined by just pop and rock: The infobox is not supposed to DEFINE her music. It's supposed to provide the briefest of the briefest of brief summaries of all that is Madonna.
  • Just look at the genre list on her album's articles: In case you haven't noticed, this is the article on Madonna, not an article on any one of her albums or even the collection of all of her albums.
  • And one more thing: For about the third or fourth time, take this up on Madonna's talk page, not mine.
  • And finally, at this point there is no consensus to add the mutiple genres that you want to add. In fact, at this point the consensus that is emerging is not to add more genres. So unless things change, please leave the infobox alone. Please read WP:CON. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 23:31, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wait a minute, why are MY edits considered bad or informal? Who says it has to go YOUR way? If I feel that I can also add a little bit of useful information on her music styles, why can't you let me do what I think could be a little useful for others? We're all here to edit and make articles better. I really hate having edit wars with people. El Cangri386 16:45, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said it has to be my way. I said it has to be done the consensus way. Have you actually read WP:CON? Consensus takes precedence of my opinion and your opinioin. And even if I completely agreed with you (which I don't), there would still be no consensus to make your changes. There is no consensus to make the changes you want. That's the bottom line. And for the last time, discuss this on the Madonna talk page, not mine. What part of the phrase "Madonna's talk page" do you not understand? Ward3001 (talk) 16:53, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

LGBT Studies covers people, culture, history, and related subjects concerning sexual identity and gender identity - this covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated! Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve articles, so if someone seeks help, please try to assist if you are able. Likewise feel free to ask for help, advice or clarification.
  • Many important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you're going to stay awhile, please create a square in our project quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TaketheLead.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TaketheLead.jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:22, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Química Sustancia edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Química Sustancia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails WP:MUSIC#SONGS.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:El Mellao Screenshot.JPG edit

Thank you for uploading Image:El Mellao Screenshot.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Hey man, remember me User:Truco9311, one of the originals of Wikipedia:WikiProject Reggaeton? Too bad the project is gone now :( Hows it been?--SRX 01:15, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it went down because of inactivity, since we didn't have enough members. You're right, I haven't edited reggaeton articles in awhile, last one I edited was when I created Jowell y Randy, but that was it. I haven't really directed my editing to reggaeton since the project went down.--SRX 01:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
That's great! I should probably become active in editing reggaeton articles again.--SRX 02:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Ha. That was from my old user page, you can keep that navbar :P. --SRX 02:51, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Haha. I just use mine for myself. It looks much better, I recall IPs messing with it a lot the past few months. That image should be removed because it violates WP:FAIRUSE because it is copyrighted and not of FAIR USE.--SRX 03:19, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
You have to ask for permission by the author, or you have to use an actual photo you took of the people. In this case, you can ask for permission or just leave the article w/o one. Its not mandatory for it to have one.--SRX 03:31, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Stop edit

Don't do this again, it's not vandalism. Please discuss alterations to genres on article talk pages. — Realist2 02:09, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The primary reason we avoid listing every genre, subgenre and fusion genre and artist has used is because its not encyclopedic for an introduction. Now, if you want to take the time to expand the "Influences" section into a full "Musical style" section, describing the entire evolution of her musical sound, stage persona and impact on the recording industry, from the beginning of her career to today, that's encyclopedic. But cramming the infobox with that much information is not beneficial to the reader. Take a moment to read User:WesleyDodds/tempwork2. Its a new guideline in the works that hasn't been implimented yet, but its a good foundation for music editors nonetheless. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 02:43, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wilson Cruz edit

I think "resume" may just be for lack of a better term. It reads more like a press release, or in more general terms, a fan site, rather than an encyclopedia article. I know I tend to rely on Janet Jackson, but its the only featured article I've written. :) Nonetheless, using JJ as an example, any claim, whether factual, or an opinion, is specified by a source: a book, an author, a music critic, a news publication, etc. With Cruz, you need to specify exactly who says he is "role model for lgbt youth". When and where has Cruz said he is "devoted to lgbt youth of color". Has he been quoted saying this? The biography needs a lot of sources for the many, many, questionable statements it presents. Considering I can't even access the page and the fact that it is a Wiki page, that ref is most likely unreliable. Better references would be like from news outlets, Don Omar himself or people representing or speaking for him, or Univision.--TRUCO 503 03:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit war: Gasolina edit

Hey El cangri386. Although I believe you are trying to improve the article by changing it to look more organised as you say, in all honesty and I don't mean to belittle your contributions in any way, but they don't offer a whole great deal of improvement. The reason why I keep reverting your edit is because I'm trying to keep this artcle the best it can be and the same layout as other featured singles such as hollaback girl. I'm sorry if you feel like I have something against you but I am only trying to keep this article the best it can be. Kartel King (talk) 04:54, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Camate man, no need to shout. If you want to help improve this article then you can do the same and cite sources for the release dates. They are correct so it shouldn't be hard to find sources, take a look at hollaback girl as it does no have the release dates cited and it is a featured article. P.S. There is no need to get emotional over this, stay cool. Kartel King (talk) 05:02, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Cangri, instead of being quick to click the revert button seemingly without taking what I said into account at all, take a second to read my reply. You have engaged in an edit war with me which we both know goes against wikipedia policies so please stop. I'll quote myself, "cite sources for the release dates. They are correct so it shouldn't be hard to find sources, take a look at hollaback girl as it does no have the release dates cited and it is a featured article.". The three release dates do not mean it was just released in three countries (BTW Europe is not a country) they are merely there to improve the article, and you are right it most probably was released worldwide as it charted in many countries all around the world including japan. And I am also aware this is not the best article around, but it is the best Daddy Yankee single we have so particular attention should be paid to it. You tell me to find sources that will help out alot, but let me remind you that you are not extempt from this. If you are here to help then you would also do this. In the meantime while we look, these dates should be kept as they are factual. Please refrain from making further reverts. Thanks, Kartel King (talk) 05:35, 21 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
So. Just because you started editing this article before me, it doesn't mean you have any ownership over it. I am free to improve this article all I like. The reason I revert your edit that removes History and popularity from the header is because "Release" does not effectively sum up the following information. And and extra three words hardly constitute a full sentence. This is a gross exageration on your part. Although I must commend you on your addition on citations for the CD formats and extra two tracklistings you added. They do offer an improvement so good work. Please stop fighting with me, thanks Kartel King (talk) 12:11, 22 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Daddy Yankee/Daddy Yankee discography edit

Coo, thanks man. To be honest I wasn't sure if you were going to fight me on it or not but I'm glad you're not. And in regards to changing the other articles, yes you should go ahead and correct them, as mixtapes, live albums and soundtracks aren't included as studio albums. Cheers, Kartel King (talk) 02:04, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeh you're right on both albums, and as such they should be changed. Thanks for pointing that out I have no idea how I missed that, I'll change them or if you want to you can, but either way they should be changed. Kartel King (talk) 03:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
There was also some other stuff I left out such as featured singles chartings, links to artists names, etc. I figured other people could fill them in later but it's pretty close to complete, at least alot better than the mediocre previous version IMO. I'm not sure what to do with Tormenta Tropical, Vol. 1. I don't think it should go in mixtape compilations as it isn't one but I don't know where to put it. And I don't want to delete it because it sold a few copies, but I don't know if it doesn't belong anywhere maybe it should be deleted and have its sales added to Barrio Fino en Directo or something. What's your opinion? Kartel King (talk) 05:02, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay then I'm going to delete it from the dicography, and that so-called "cover" version you mention is already mentioned on the main gasolina article. I don't think it warrants any more mentioning as it was plagerised by that artist without permission. There was a big discussion about this a while back with another couple of users and this was the agreement we came to. P.S. If it was up to me it wouldn't even have it's own article, but because it's noteworthy enough it does. Kartel King (talk) 23:42, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why did you completely disregard my reply to you about the copied version of Gasolina? This was long ago decided to be moved to it's own page and involved lengthy discussions about this, which you would have known if you bothered reading them instead of doing what you wanted without any regard for what had already been agreed upon long ago. Now because you did not listen to me you have opened up an old wound and have given Europe22 a reason to start edit warring once again. He has used your edit as a wave to ride on in getting his own way and to act upon his resent for me. So don't bother asking me something if you are not going to even bother taking into account my answer, it's not worth my time writing it if you just disregard it. Kartel King (talk) 02:45, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Okay buddy, you had your chance to do the right thing but now instead of aknowledging you were wrong you turn around and act the way you are now. Well now you are going to have to deal with me coming down on you like a ton of bricks as soon as you do something wrong, so deal with it. P.S. If you're not here to help then leave, wikipedia isn't a place for people acting in their own self interests. Kartel King (talk) 07:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I know exactly what I am doing and did before you became involved in this while this bs was happening with Europe22. Maybe instead of warring with me you could have asked before you made the drastic changes you did. You say you don't want to be edit warring but your edits say otherwise especially your edits to the Gasolina (Papa A.P. version) image in which you removed a tag thinking I infact added it, when it was a bot who did the deed! This isn't the typoe of behaviour someone wanting to help wikipedia does, this is the behaviour of someone with a grudge and acting on a hidden agenda. In this case acting against me. If you read the discussions not involving you long ago you will see that the end result was to relocate Papa A.P.'s copy to his own page as someone already started that and to keep the line that mentioned him and no more. La Fabrica also plagerised his song as other people have which I have heard of that are not in this article, but does that mean they should get a whole complete section on their version? No! It does not. None of this artists would have been notable had it not been fo their plagerisms. So once again, this section should not be included in this article, something which was decided ages ago which Europe22 knows about, he is just feigning comprehension now that he has seen his opportunity to tag team up with you. Read and see for yourself. As for the release history and your changing of section headers, I already explained this is not needed and they are fine the way they are. Take a look at some featured articles like hollaback girl for pointers in what you should be doing to improve the article. You say you do not want to have an argument or fight, then stop because I do not wish to either but your hostility towards me makes me feel like you do. Ivy Queen edit

Hola El cangri386, como estas? Look, I reverted your edit to the article because you know that it is common practice and within the Wikipedia norm that the article be named with the most commonly used name of the person and that the introduction begin with said name. That is why it is made very clear in the very first sentence of the "Early years" section that "Ivy Queen's birth name is Martha Ivelisse Pesante". Take care and it always nice to see you editing here and there. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:03, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gasolina edit

I couldn't find any specific policies when I did a quick search, but there does seem to be community consensus for merging cover versions. Honestly, I suspected that might be true when I recommended a split back then, but thought a temporary split might serve as a bandage long enough for 1) Europe22 to dig up and write good material in peace, and 2) tempers to cool. Given that there's been ample time for both to occur, the best solution is the one you already implemented - re-merge.
The trouble is that, as you've already seen, Kartel King is apparently still bent on venting his personal opinion of Papa AP rather than sticking to sources. I'd recommend an RfC about it to bring in more eyes - but honestly, at this point it's up to Kartel King. If he's willing to bend to the existing consensus or find sources to back his wording (which would probably change consensus), that would be the best possible solution. If not, then it's probably going to turn into a WP:3RR issue of variable speed, and it'll have to be taken up there. Sorry I couldn't be more help. arimareiji (talk) 00:03, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Arcángel (singer) edit

I consider it "B" class material, that is as high as you can go without going into nominations or quality reviews. Importance is "Low" in terms of WP:PUR's general scope, I would say probably "Mid" for the reggaetón project. The content seems adequate for a young singer, but notice that some reviewers don't like the IMDb as a reference. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:44, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article is nearly 14k long and it is completely referenced, that would be short for a veteran artist, but more than enough for someone young and with only one released album. Before nominating, try running it trough an automatic spell-check (Word and MWWP come to mind) to tie any loose knots that might have gone unnoticed. - Caribbean~H.Q. 00:25, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
You just need to paste this template {{subst:GAN|subtopic=Music}} into the article's talk page, then list it in this category using the same format employed by the other nominators. Then comes the waiting game, eventually a reviewer will take interest in the article and post a review on the talk page, but that could take up to a month if people ignore it. I usually continue working with other articles in the meanwhile. - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:12, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would have given it a C because its not really up to WP:BLP standards. It needs more about his personal life. Also, make sure those sources are reliable. And sorry for the late reply, I forgot about this message.--Best, RUCӨ 02:30, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:MariahCareyEMC2.PNG) edit

Thanks for uploading File:MariahCareyEMC2.PNG.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:JowellyRandy.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 18:06, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Henry Santos edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Henry Santos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the notability of the subject,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 21:58, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Loves Pride 2014 edit

Hi El cangri386. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:27, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:TaketheLeadOST.PNG edit

The file File:TaketheLeadOST.PNG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Take the Lead#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE and MOS:TVPRODUCTION. The file's non-free use also fails WP:NFCC#3a since it's basically a cropped version of the movie poster being used in the main infobox of the article to identify the film itself.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:32, 4 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
