Redirect, regarding Ceylan Arıkan edit

Hey there, it looks like your newest AFC submission - Ceylan Arıkan - was accepted. Congratulations! However, the title uses an irregular version of the I character, which I suspect was not your intention. I've gone ahead and created the redirect Ceylan Arikan. If the different I character in the title was your intention, the redirect addresses keyboards that may not be able to use this character (mine, for example). If it wasn't, you may wish to move that article to the redirect instead.

Proposed deletion of David Bitsindou edit

The article David Bitsindou has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Player fails WP:GNG and WP:FOOTY, no appearances in a professional football league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your Editing Restrictions Are Withdrawn edit

Das osmnezz; I am very pleased to inform you that I am lifting, with immediate effect, all of the editing restrictions that were imposed on November 20, 2017, and subsequently renewed. This is a result of the noticeable improvement in your editing, particularly with regard to establishing the notability of the subjects of newly created articles and your avoidance of unencyclopedic words and expressions in articles. Proposed deletion of Gonzalo Vásquez (footballer) edit

The article Gonzalo Vásquez (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable footballer who fails WP:FOOTY. Has never had a senior appearance in a fully professional league.

Speedy deletion nomination of Chung Wai Ho edit

A tag has been placed on Chung Wai Ho requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Mattythewhite:, Should I not add interviews to external links to players? I have seen many pages with interviews as external links. If I shouldn't, I apologize for the inappropriate 'spam'. Footnotes edit

Hello, thank you for your contributions, including pages like Lee-Roy Echteld. However, instead of adding sources as external links, please make them into citations with footnotes - you can see what I did to the Echteld page. The easiest way to do this is to use Visual Editor and put the URL into the automatic citation tool. If you have additional questions please let me know. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 13:16, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Same for Geoffrey Prommayon, Zico Tumba, Alexander Opoku, Martin Zafirov, Nando (footballer, born 1966), Wolfgang April, Petros Marinakis, Zeljko Susa. If you don't use proper referencing, and reference the content in infoboxes, I will take this to WP:ANI for a reinstatement of editing restrictions. Because these articles are as poor as the ones that led to the restrictions in the first place, and when you had the editing restrictions, the article quality was significantly better. Articles have to have categories edit

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I saw that an article you created has not been added to any categories. According to the guideline Wikipedia:Categorization, every article should be in at least one category. Please help by adding categories to the articles you create. You can take a look at the categorization FAQ. If you need further help, ask at the Teahouse. Thank you.

You are an experienced editor, at least when it comes to time spent here. Mass creation of uncategorized articles is not good enough, as it creates a large workload for others. A tip is to copy categories from existing articles, and amend them as needed. For instance, if there's an article about a Dutch footballer, copy the categories from another Dutch footballer and just change birth year, etc. Geschichte (talk) 17:59, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Geschichte:, I will add categories to all articles from now on and for past ones. Thanks, User:Das osmnezz
Also, please sign your posts with ~~~~, as per Wikipedia:Signatures. Signing this was provides a proper link to your talkpage, and a proper date/time stamp (which is used for archiving), whereas just signing User:Das osmnezz doesn't satisfy either of these. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages edit

Thank you for your recent articles, including Piotr Orliński, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:28, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Craig Dean (footballer) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Craig Dean (footballer), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Pitarelli, Diego Jaume and other recent creations edit

Hi there,

Taking a quick look at your creations and at this talk page, it seems like some other users warned you but you didn't pay that much of an attention: please improve your creations. The quality of them is poor, the dashes are not properly formatted, some information is wrong (Pitarelli's period at Santos, for an example) and teams are not piped correctly (see Pitarelli's difference now, for an example).

Also, on Diego Jaume, it's recommended that you don't write Diego "El Patrón" Jaume as his name in the infobox. El Patrón is his nickname, I assume, the same way Lionel Messi is known as La Pulga. However, I don't see Messi's name being listed as Lionel "La Pulga" Messi. I've reverted some of those players whom you added a nickname, but if you want to reinstate them, add them in the intro with a reference.

Furthermore, I am seeing that you are creating a "Notable players" section for some players who aren't even notable on those teams (i.e. Pitarelli on Santos' article). Using Pitarelli's example, he wasn't even a starter at Santos, never won a single title and played for the club for no more than two years. It's highly recommended to add this section only if the player is an international footballer, or reached 100 league appearances or more for the club (although I would recommend adding those players when both criteria is met only).

It seems like some other users wanted to create an ANI because of your actions, so I would recommend you to improve the quality of your pages.

@MYS77:, Apologies. I will improve my articles and not add "notable players" sections. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 17:25, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Volkan Akyıldız moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Volkan Akyıldız, does not have enough content, sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
