Comments for List of largest known stars edit

Hi, I saw your edits in the comments of stars in the list of largest known stars. You don't need to add the constellation in the comments since it was very obvious. One knows that UY Scuti is in Scutum simply because it has the constellation's genitive. Plus, do not tell a particular star in a particular rank.. Again, we must note that their sizes are not yet well determined. KY Cygni may be equal to VY Canis Majoris but the latter one has a ± 120 solar radii figure. Also, it is not very wise to say UY Scuti is the largest known star simply because it has a ± 192 solar radii figure. That's why I've put in the article it was the "largest known star at most likelihood" since it is still very unusual.

I will revert your comments. Please post to my talk if you have any questions. Thank you! SkyFlubbler (talk) 13:48, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Very suspicious Largest lists edit

I can see you create astronomy lists about the "largests". That is good, but they are not very accurate.

I don't boast myself as a more expert astronomy major, but your lists have exeedingly wrong info. Like the largest galaxies. You said IC 1101 is the largest at 5.6 Mly while the fact the "true" largest is a supergiant BCG in the constellation Camelopardalis at 15 Mly. Another is the list of largest known nebulae. You said the Tarantula Nebula is the largest at 300 ly by the fact that the "true" largest is the LAB concentration in the constellation Aquarius at 200 million ly.

But anyway, those topics are amazing. But next time use your sandbox and inform it to any expert astronomers at the Wikiproject. You can also consult me if you want. Thank you. If you are willing we can be pals for the project.

I will consent your lists to the Wikiproject astronomy. SkyFlubbler (talk) 12:26, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

{{Unreferenced}} tag on List of largest known nebulae edit

An editor has tagged List of largest known nebulae, an article which you have created or worked on, as {{Unreferenced}}. Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia, but when adding content (particularly for facts and figures), please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing, especially when adding information about living persons that is even remotely contentious. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Brothers in Arms 3 Early Game play screenshot.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Brothers in Arms 3 Early Game play screenshot.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2014 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in United States, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Chamith (talk) 03:53, 24 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to List of largest known stars, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Please only use actual values cited in references given. "Averaging" between different citations simply introduces noise into the Wiki. Please read WP:SYNTH which talks about what you are trying to do - specifically "Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources." request edit

please stay away from the list of largest stars article. thanks Tetra quark (talk) 17:36, 26 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

That's an inappropriate demand, verging on WP:OWN. Tarl.Neustaedter (talk) 20:39, 26 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let me restate it: I know you are just trying to help the Wikiproject:Astronomical objects, but your recent edits in the past few months is not considered to be constructive. Your edits at the List of largest known stars do not appear to follow our guidelines. As far as you are concerned, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Encyclopedias are messengers, and not creators, of information. You are arguing VV Cephei A is 1,475, although if you read the refs, you will never see that number. Please report what the references say. You cannot put 1,500 when one ref says 1,000 and the other says 2,000. That would cause misconception. As far as you know, Wikipedia is a very powerful medium of information. Other people will quote 1,500, and the scientists of two references would be confused.

Let's face it, there's no unique star in the universe in size terms. Don't put unusual numbers in the list, that is a big mistake.

Oh, by the way, as far as you know, the List of largest known galaxies which you've created is on the verge of deletion. You created an article without peer review. If you look at my List of most massive black holes, that is a very clear list, product of seven months of blood, sweat, brain and tears. I hope you understand that.

In the meantime, when you'll create or edit, please ask us first. We can help. SkyFlubbler (talk with me :-D) 09:04, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:CocoMartin2017Official.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:CocoMartin2017Official.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:32, 20 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of List of largest nebulae edit

The article List of largest nebulae has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Proposing deletion of this page, for many reasons: The nebulae listed here are particularly too common, with astonishingly large ones at the top and a sudden fall in sizes with few in between. It is too incomplete and a lot of nebulae (particularly the ones deep in the Milky Way and other galaxies) are not included, to the point that this has become inaccurate. It suffers the same problems as the previous List of largest galaxies - sources are simply too few in order to make a worthy list.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
