Well it appears between this and these that someone isn't very happy. The removals in question still violate WP:3RR because she removed part of the material that I restored (this would specifically apply to the part stating whether in whole or in part—counts as a revert). I'm about ready to file a notice at WP:AN/3RR but want to make sure I am correct before I do? TheDoctorWho (talk) 09:07, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@TheDoctorWho: According to guidelines you are correct because that would technically be the 5th revert within a span of 24 hours and I think you have tried everything you can to resolve the issue so if you feel that the next step would be to file a notice at WP:AN/3RR would be appropriate then you should be okay just don't revert the editor anymore or you too would be in violation of policy as well. I would go the WP:AN/3RR route and leave thier edit alone for now while the dispute is ongoing. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 09:14, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Alucard 16, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

NPR Newsletter No.13 18 September 2018 edit

Hello Alucard 16, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

The New Page Feed currently has 2700 unreviewed articles, up from just 500 at the start of July. For a while we were falling behind by an average of about 40 articles per day, but we have stabilised more recently. Please review some articles from the back of the queue if you can (Sort by: 'Oldest' at Special:NewPagesFeed), as we are very close to having articles older than one month.

Project news
As part of this project, the feed will have some larger updates to functionality next month. Specifically, ORES predictions will be built in, which will automatically flag articles for potential issues such as vandalism or spam. Copyright violation detection will also be added to the new page feed. See the projects's talk page for more info.
Other
Moving to Draft and Page Mover
  • Some unsuitable new articles can be best reviewed by moving them to the draft space, but reviewers need to do this carefully and sparingly. It is most useful for topics that look like they might have promise, but where the article as written would be unlikely to survive AfD. If the article can be easily fixed, or if the only issue is a lack of sourcing that is easily accessible, tagging or adding sources yourself is preferable. If sources do not appear to be available and the topic does not appear to be notable, tagging for deletion is preferable (PROD/AfD/CSD as appropriate). See additional guidance at WP:DRAFTIFY.
  • If the user moves the draft back to mainspace, or recreates it in mainspace, please do not re-draftify the article (although swapping it to maintain the page history may be advisable in the case of copy-paste moves). AfC is optional except for editors with a clear conflict of interest.
  • Articles that have been created in contravention of our paid-editing-requirements or written from a blatant NPOV perspective, or by authors with a clear COI might also be draftified at discretion.
  • The best tool for draftification is User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js(info). Kindly adapt the text in the dialogue-pop-up as necessary (the default can also be changed like this). Note that if you do not have the Page Mover userright, the redirect from main will be automatically tagged as CSD R2, but in some cases it might be better to make this a redirect to a different page instead.
  • The Page Mover userright can be useful for New Page Reviewers; occasionally page swapping is needed during NPR activities, and it helps avoid excessive R2 nominations which must be processed by admins. Note that the Page Mover userright has higher requirements than the NPR userright, and is generally given to users active at Requested Moves. Only reviewers who are very experienced and are also very active reviewers are likely to be granted it solely for NPP activities.
List of other useful scripts for New Page Reviewing

  • Twinkle provides a lot of the same functionality as the page curation tools, and some reviewers prefer to use the Twinkle tools for some/all tasks. It can be activated simply in the gadgets section of 'preferences'. There are also a lot of options available at the Twinkle preferences panel after you install the gadget.
  • In terms of other gadgets for NPR, HotCat is worth turning on. It allows you to easily add, remove, and change categories on a page, with name suggestions.
  • MoreMenu also adds a bunch of very useful links for diagnosing and fixing page issues.
  • User:Equazcion/ScriptInstaller.js(info): Installing scripts doesn't have to be complicated. Go to your common.js and copy importScript( 'User:Equazcion/ScriptInstaller.js' ); into an empty line, now you can install all other scripts with the click of a button from the script page! (Note you need to be at the ".js" page for the script for the install button to appear, not the information page)
  • User:TheJosh/Scripts/NewPagePatrol.js(info): Creates a scrolling new pages list at the left side of the page. You can change the number of pages shown by adding the following to the next line on your common.js page (immediately after the line importing this script): npp_num_pages=20; (Recommended 20, but you can use any number from 1 to 50).
  • User:Primefac/revdel.js(info): Is requesting revdel complicated and time consuming? This script helps simplify the process. Just have the Copyvio source URL and go to the history page and collect your diff IDs and you can drop them into the script Popups and it will create a revdel request for you.
  • User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js(info): Creates a "Page Curation" link to Special:NewPagesFeed up near your sandbox link.
  • User:Writ Keeper/Scripts/deletionFinder.js: Creates links next to the title of each page which show up if it has been previously deleted or nominated for deletion.
  • User:Evad37/rater.js(info): A fantastic tool for adding WikiProject templates to article talk pages. If you add: rater_autostartNamespaces = 0; to the next line on your common.js, the prompt will pop up automatically if a page has no Wikiproject templates on the talk page (note: this can be a bit annoying if you review redirects or dab pages commonly).

Compile (company) edit

Thank you for responding to the edit request. Since Legacy of the Wizard is staying in the article after all, a small change would need to be done for the "Publisher" of that game.

"Nihon Game" would need to be changed to either "Namco" (the publisher of that version in Japan) and/or "Broderbund" (the publisher of that same version in North America). I don't have a preference for either Namco or Broderbund, and I'm also fine with the inclusion of both as long as Nihon Falcom is removed as publisher (Falcom is the copyright holder but did not published that version of the game in Japan or North America).

Big Brother (Swedish season 5) edit

Hello. Name of seasons are currently messed. There can't be both "Big Brother (Swedish season 5)" and "Big Brother 2011" independently. I seen "Big Brother 2012" name on Big Brother website but couldn't confirm it's official name and I don't know about 2011 and 2015 edition. Eurohunter (talk) 21:35, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Eurohunter: The article title of Big Brother (Country season #) is a standard disambiguation guideline for article naming outlined at WP:TVSEASON that should be followed unless there is a consensus for an exception. This does not mean that it is the official name of that season. Some good examples of this would be The Apprentice (U.S. TV series) and The Celebrity Apprentice. NBC doesn't consider The Celebrity Apprentice a spin-off but a continuation of The Apprentice. So if you go from season six (regular Apprentice) to season seven (Celebrity Apprentice) you'll notice the article titles stay consistent but for the Celebrity seasons the article's lead will clarify the correct title.
In the case of most non-English Big Brother series like the Swedish version these articles seem to be lacking in reliable sources when compared to their English counterparts. This makes figuring out the exact naming of each season hard now with the age of the show and even harder when it changes TV networks. This is also why your seeing some information not matching up correctly like Big Brother (Swedish season 6) is the article title while the lead says "Big Brother 2012 is the eighth series of the Swedish version of the reality television series, Big Brother." The main issue here is it looks like some editors are counting the joint editions in the total number of Swedish seasons is the only thing I can think of but its something I haven't had time to research properly. I hope this explanation helps clears some questions up. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 17:24, 8 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Community Wishlist Proposal
Project updates
  • ORES predictions are now built-in to the feed. These automatically predict the class of an article as well as whether it may be spam, vandalism, or an attack page, and can be filtered by these criteria now allowing reviewers to better target articles that they prefer to review.
  • There are now tools being tested to automatically detect copyright violations in the feed. This detector may not be accurate all the time, though, so it shouldn't be relied on 100% and will only start working on new revisions to pages, not older pages in the backlog.

Compile (company) (new request) edit

Hello. We had an interaction earlier this month (as seen above on your talk page) and told me I could come to you if I had another request regarding this semi-protected page.

On the "Fate" section of the page's infobox, it says the following:

"Bankruptcy, trademark and intellectual property acquired by Compile Heart,..."

While not totally wrong, that statement is still incorrect. Compile Heart signed in 2010 a long term licensing deal with D4 Enterprise to produce new games on Compile's franchises. D4 never anything sold anything outright to Compile Heart; just licensing the Compile IPs to Compile Heart. I think some people (particularly in the west) gave more weight to this deal than it deserves.

Would it be possible for you to replace in the "Fate" section, "Compile Heart" for "D4 Enterprise". Note that I don't have any opinion about Compile Heart remaining in the "Successor" field and will leave that decision to you. But the "Fate" section should not give a false impression that Compile Heart is the actual copyright/trademark owner of the old Compile properties when it is not. Specifying the details about the 2010 deal between D4 and compile Heart would be fine for the text section but too much for the infobox. Which is why I would just mention D4 (and Sega) in the "Fate" section though Compile Heart can stay in the "Sucessor" field. Thanks

References:

@70.24.124.252:   Done I didn't remove Compile Heart from the "Fate" section but I did add D4 since they have the IP and licensed them to Compile Heart. Sorry about the wait there. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 14:13, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. If the consensus is to merge then as the nom I will help implement the change however there needs to be a consensus first. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:50, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@TheDoctorWho: Actually I have been thinking about that and I honestly for the articles I think we should adopt the current way CBS, Global, the press and the production team uses the term which is "Houseguests" [1][2][3] As far as the infobox module goes the lowercase "housemates" and "houseguests" should be used instead as that seems to be the preferred Manual of Style in general for infoboxes. A good example would be {{Infobox television Survivor}} which has "castaways" all lowercase in the infobox. For the special prizes like AFJ and AFH I think it should be formatted as "America's Favorite Juror" and "America's Favorite Houseguest" respectively since those are proper titles. Also for BB:OTT we shouldn't have filming dates since that aired live (unless you planned on removing them then ignore this last comment lol). Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 04:06, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Now that this has been closed we should be about ready to implement the changes. But before we do, the module should be moved to the template space correct? Also, if it helps you, I'm watching your talk page now so you don't need to ping me every time  . TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:00, 14 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks   I left a message on Gonnym's talk page about the result of the discussion. I would recommend waiting on him to get the new module sorted and working just in case it required a change is to {{Infobox television season}} to work and that one is template protected and he has the rights to edit those. NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018 edit

Hello Alucard 16,

Reviewer of the Year

This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.

Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.

See also the list of top 100 reviewers.

Less good news, and an appeal for some help

The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.

Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019

At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.

Training video

Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Listing of presenters/judges edit

Just a quick question, should we be separating the judges/presenters into current and former on the infoboxes? MSalmon (talk) 22:33, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Msalmon: From my understanding that is against MOS:DONTHIDE and shouldn't be done. I'm pinging Gonnym in on this as he brought up a similar discussion a while back about the Big Brother sidebars used on some parent articles like Big Brother (U.S. TV series) and Big Brother (UK TV series). TBH The X Factor (UK TV series), American Idol and Survivor (U.S. TV series) are some good examples how the infobox on parent articles should look. I created an comparison on how Big Brother (U.S. TV series) could look if the custom sidebar (which doesn't adhere to MOS:DONTHIDE) was replaced with {{Infobox television}} here. I hope this answers the question. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 08:18, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Basically what Alucard 16 said. Per [MOS:DONTHIDE]] content on Wikipedia content pages should not be hidden by default. If you were asking for the BB sidebar template, then that is an even bigger issue, as sidebars "infobox" don't appear for mobile users. --Gonnym (talk) 08:38, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Farmen articles/Big Brother endgame templates edit

Is there a date where the big brother endgame template will be discontinued? I understand why it's being done, I just need to know when the deletion of the endgame template will happen around. Cheers. --Nintenga (talk) 22:49, 11 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Nintenga: There is no set date but it will be a while as this template is used on 300+ articles still. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 23:20, 11 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just to add/correct Alucard here. The TfD discussion has no provisions of first moving the missing data from the endgame template to the article table, however since Alucard and others are actively doing so, we are doing it slowly. If at any point this process stops, the changing of the template can be completed in a day with a simple operation. So basically, if you are using that template on any article, you should replace it. --Gonnym (talk) 10:51, 12 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

BB templates edit

Is anyone else but you replacing the infobox for Big Brother? If no one is working, there is no reason to wait for the info to be converted to a table, as that isn't part of the requirement of the TfD outcome. As long as the old template still exists, people will keep reverting to it. --Gonnym (talk) 19:17, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Gonnym: I know defiantly TheDoctorWho is converting the American and English Canadian articles to the new infobox and table. I have seen Oenix2nd working on converting Pinoy Big Brother articles. A675974811 has been converting other editions no one has discussed like the German, Russian, etc. Each of them seem to be converting the Days/Results into a table as they go along with no reverts that I can see. The only article that has been a problem has been Gran Hermano VIP (season 6) which was converted while it was in progress and supposed to be using Template:Big Brother housemates. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 23:27, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Correction with some American articles it seems NintendoGeek is working on the table while TheDoctorWho is working on replacing the infobox. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 23:32, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just a quick update, all U.S. articles have new HouseGuests tables except for CBB1 which I'll take care of now. I've done a few of them but NintendoGeek has done the rest. As far as the Infoboxes all seasons except for 1-5 have them and I plan on taking care of those later tonight. TheDoctorWho (talk) 01:20, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Gonnym: I just converted Pinoy Big Brother: Otso and Bigg Boss Kannada (season 6) over to the new module. {{Big Brother housemates}} can be deleted as no articles are using it now. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 04:27, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
{{Big Brother housemates}} has been nominated for deletion at WP:TfD TheDoctorWho (talk) 04:58, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
{{Big Brother endgame2}} is now orphaned I just converted Big Brother (Serbian season 4) and Big Brother (Serbian season 5) over to the module and they were the only articles using that one. @TheDoctorWho: isn't there an easier way of having {{Big Brother housemates}} and {{Big Brother endgame2}} instead of having to do another discussion? I thought we were to move them to the "Ready for deletion" section over at the holding cell. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:11, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I was on that page and completely missed that section, my apologies. I believe that you're correct. TheDoctorWho (talk) 09:16, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Ah its okay no worries   I was a little unsure that I was reading the instructions correctly until I saw Galobtter deleted {{Big Brother endgame2}} lol. Maybe since your the nom for the discussion for {{Big Brother housemates}} you could revoke that nom and just let the process at the holding cell take care of it? Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:31, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Nice, good job guys. I was asking as I had to revert twice a user at Big Brother (UK series 19). --Gonnym (talk) 10:54, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks!   @Gonnym: ah that seems to be the exception to the rule for now. I haven't seen much issue with the implementation except at Gran Hermano VIP (season 6). Other than those two pages it seems the transition is going smoothly from what I can tell. I haven't seen any issues with the Celebrity Big Brother UK series 1-7 articles I moved over to the new template. After these next two days of work IRL I will be able to wrap up the British articles pretty quickly so all will look uniform then finish Gran Hermano as well. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 11:41, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

As a side note (I know it's unrelated) but I'd like to convert series overview tables, like the one at Big Brother (U.S. TV series)#Series details and viewership over to using {{Series overview}}. I'm in the process of converting that one now at User:TheDoctorWho/sandbox. Thoughts? TheDoctorWho (talk) 21:38, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've not seen this used on reality shows before but that is an interesting idea actually looks good to me so far. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 22:15, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I've implemented the tables in the respective section and I don't think it looks too bad.TheDoctorWho (talk) 08:13, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I think it looks good but its a bit weird seeing the premier/finale dates at the end but I guess that is how the template is set up. I think you possibly opened up another can of worms for reality TV series that use a custom overview table.   @Gonnym: your the WP:TV template expert here what do you think of this idea and how its implemented on Big Brother (U.S. TV series)? It does bring reality unscripted shows like this in line with their scripted counterparts. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 08:44, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Looks great. It's always better to get a consistent style going across all related articles, that way if a need arises, it can be better evaluated to see how many pages need it. --Gonnym (talk) 10:53, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Any idea of why the naming of the U.S. articles is different to the other ones? MSalmon (talk) 10:55, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Msalmon: The American version and Secret Story (Portuguese TV series) have a unique disambiguation because of the numbers in the names of the season that was reached via consensus through RMs. See here for the American RM and here for the Portuguese RM. Its essentially a compromise between WP:BIGBRO's old naming convention and WP:NCTV's guidelines for these seasons. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 11:00, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
So do the infobox titles for each season need to match the name of the article? MSalmon (talk) 11:02, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I believe so in situations like the UK version it automatically done when the values are entered correctly. In cases like the US version they have to be manually entered because the US disambiguation is not standard but still the US infobox titles has to match the article title for the italicize feature to work properly. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 11:08, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have changed a few of the U.S. infobox titles and the italics still work even though I did it using the same as the UK infoboxes MSalmon (talk) 11:14, 6 January 2019 (UTC).Reply
@Msalmon: I've actually noticed the infobox title issue also and was going to raise it in the next few days over at the infobox, once I implement my current sandbox changes. For some reason, the title was implemented with all the disambiguation which just doesn't look good (and shouldn't be connected to how the prev/next work). I'll ping this conversation when I start it so you can comment there. --Gonnym (talk) 11:18, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Msalmon: I see what you mean with the infobox now hump will wait to see what Gonnym has up his sleeve on this as I'm perplexed. However for the main series for the American adaptation the season articles are named based on their WP:COMMONNAME for seasons 9, 11-present and for their actual names for seasons 1-8 and 10.
From my understanding infobox title at least should say Big Brother # for all the main series seasons for consistency. Like I pointed out in the RM even CBS goes back at times and reverts to calling seasons 11-20 by the old naming standard. So the naming Big Brother # is also correct for seasons 11-20 even though their logos omit the number. Season 20 was very evident of this where production used the name Big Brother 20 in a variety of ways last year.
The celebrity series was moved on a technicality basis and could see another possible move after the second season premiers to see how CBS and the production team handles this season as far as naming goes since the WP:COMMONNAME that applies to the main season articles won't necessarily apply to the celebrity articles (unless the press all calls it Celebrity Big Brother 2 and it is the most searched term for the season). There just isn't enough information after 1 season airs to determine a proper naming convention and after the first celebrity season experienced three moves on its name alone I didn't feel like sending it through another RM to rename it Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. season 1) just to have CBS do something totally left field and add the number back to the logo on January 21st which would have triggered another RM while the second season was in progress. How Big Brother works edit

Question: Do winners of the US seasons get voted by other members of the house and by viewers at home? --Gonnym (talk) 10:54, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Gonnym: For the American version only in Big Brother 1 (U.S. season) and Big Brother: Over the Top is where the viewers vote for who they want to evict. Our regular format is the Housemates vote to evict their own and decide the winner themselves. If a Housemate voluntarily leaves or is removed late in the season then the viewing public gets 1 vote to win in the final to fill the missing spot like in Big Brother 11 (U.S. season). The English Canadian version has adopted our standard format and follows our rules for the most part. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 11:12, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Alucard 16: oh, that makes sense now. The Israeli version is the only one I know and the public is the only one who votes. The US version then must have a very different dynamic and tactics, as here they play on what the public wants and could care less if other houseguests like them or not. --Gonnym (talk) 11:18, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Gonnym: A lot of the international versions like the Israeli version is modeled off the British adaptation which makes sense cause the British adaptation was like that as well. A lot of other international versions like the Serbian and Bulgarian series has gone so far to reuse the British logos and opening credits. The American version changed format starting with the our second season because the original format didn't work out so well here. CBS brought in new producers and they re-tooled it to be like Survivor in a house with live feeds. In the American version we do get to vote for our favorite Housemate at the end to win a smaller prize than the winner and runner-up. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 11:28, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
A lot of times what happens in the Israeli version is that one or more houseguests just stop participating in what they don't want to because they know the public likes them, so they keep getting nominated by other members, but never voted off. It creates very boring TV. --Gonnym (talk) 11:32, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
That has happened in the British version as well. That's one of the reasons our format changed after season one was due to the viewers voting out all the exciting houseguests when they were up for eviction leaving the not so exciting ones. Sometimes our format though can be less than exciting like when everyone wants to vote with the houseguest that is the Head of Household or all vote the same person out. It gets boring when they don't want to upset the one in power that week lol. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 12:13, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Template:Big Brother endgame/color edit

Big Brother China is the only article that uses Template:Big Brother endgame/color, could you see why this is? --Gonnym (talk) 09:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Gonnym:   Doing... Sure no problem. Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat? 09:05, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Gonnym   Done fixed it was the Big Brother China#Votes section. The first table had |- style="background:{{Big Brother endgame/color|winner}}; to make the rows all one color. Either way I still think it's worth a consideration. Thoughts? TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:08, 1 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Well tbh the majority of reality shows don't use this field and with Big Brother there have been seasons with close to 60 Housemates (like the fifth German season) and the Philippines tends to have an estimate of 25-35 per season now where they do multiple batches. For seasons with 20+ Housemates this would make the infobox too long also the field could be a source of edit warring. Instead of editors following the guidelines which is to list them in the order they are credited (easy for BBUSA/CAN) or alphabetically for versions where this doesn't exist (BBUK). I can see editors warring by trying to use this field as a status update. Rearranging them based on when they left the House, putting "(Evicted)" beside their name, etc. One of the things that can be done is move the "HouseGuest" section to the top then have production, episodes, voting history and reception. Big Brother Africa (season 5) edit

Hi, this user - Hullaballoo Wolfowitz removed housemates' "Secret" from "Format" section, says that they were "unsourced and laced with garbage". Secret is one of a major twist on BBA5. I added the housemates' profile page on the official site as the source (like BB Israel wiki usually did), which their profile each contained their Secret. But the user removed again, says cut-and-paste copyvios. I don't exactly know what that means, and why it was removed again after I added the sources. --A675974811 (talk) 1:24, 19 February 2019 (UTC+8)

FR30799386's User Scripts edit

Dear all. Recently, FR30799386 (talk) was blocked for sock puppetry. Among their projects were a number of user scripts that they left behind. I (DannyS712) have copied the scripts, and have taken over maintaining them. You currently import one or more of FR30799386's scripts, and I thought that you might want to import a maintained version. Links to each script are provided below.

If you have any questions, please reach out and talk to me. --DannyS712 (talk) 03:57, 21 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Administrators' newsletter – April 2019 edit

News and updates for administrators from the past month (March 2019).

  Technical news

  Arbitration

  Miscellaneous

  • Two more administrator accounts were compromised. Evidence has shown that these attacks, like previous incidents, were due to reusing a password that was used on another website that suffered a data breach. If you have ever used your current password on any other website, you should change it immediately. All admins are strongly encouraged to enable two-factor authentication, please consider doing so. Please always practice appropriate account security by ensuring your password is secure and unique to Wikimedia.
  • As a reminder, according to WP:NOQUORUM, administrators looking to close or relist an AfD should evaluate a nomination that has received few or no comments as if it were a proposed deletion (PROD) prior to determining whether it should be relisted.

Mermaid (1964 short film) edit

Please, can you help me with this article? I wanted to create it myself, but I'm too busy. Thank you very much. --79.16.239.231 14:41, 24 April 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.16.239.231 (talk) Reply
