PageCuration is a user script that adds a "Page Curation" link to the top toolbar.[a] The link points to Special:NewPagesFeed, through which the Page Curation functionality can be accessed. Page Curation is a feature-rich purpose-built system that provides combined access to the two main tools, namely Special:NewPagesFeed and Curation Toolbar. It is primarily designed to assist new page reviewers.[b]

InstallationEdit

To install the script, simply copy the following into your common.js page.[c]

importScript('User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js'); // Linkback: [[User:Lourdes/PageCuration.js]]

Note: You will need to manually bypass your cache after installation. Visit Wikipedia:Bypass your cache to see how to do this.

UsageEdit

The script is primarily designed for use by new page reviewers. While any registered user can install and use the script, only new page reviewers get access to the Curation Toolbar.[d]

  • My Page Curation script works, but the small review/curation toolbar does not appear on the right side of the screen when I open any new article to review.
Solution:
  1. Check if you have the new page reviewer right;[b] (not to be confused with Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes)
  2. Check Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets; see the option Disable the page curation toolbar right at the bottom of that page – if that is checked, uncheck it.
  3. Use the Page Curation script and open any new unreviewed article.
  4. Go to the left sidebar menu (it should be on the left side of your screen).
  5. Go to the section on the left sidebar menu titled Tools.
  6. Click on the link titled Curate this article (it should be at the bottom of the Tools section).
  7. The review/curation toolbar should appear on the right side of the screen.
  8. Leave a note at User talk:Lourdes if this doesn't work.
  • I've installed the Page Curation script in my vector.js page, but the script doesn't work/no top menu link appears titled Page Curation.
Solution:
  1. Remove the script from your vector.js page.[c]
  2. Reinstall the script in your common.js page.
  3. The Page Curation link should now appear on the top toolbar.[a]
  4. Leave a note at User talk:Lourdes if this doesn't work.

NotesEdit

  1. ^ a b The top toolbar is the relatively smaller menu bar that an editor can view right at the top of the screen.
  2. ^ a b While any registered user can install and use the script, only new page reviewers get access to the Curation Toolbar.
  3. ^ a b Adding the script to vector.js may create issues when viewed in skins other than the default vector skin.
  4. ^ If you don't have the new page reviewer right, you can apply for the same at WP:PERM.
