If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Sunčane Skale 2013

edit

The article Sunčane Skale 2013 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Event that was never held: non-notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File source problem with File:UEFA Futsal Euro 2016 Qualifiers Map.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:UEFA Futsal Euro 2016 Qualifiers Map.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 2015 eurobasket

edit

serbia is not qualified yet! If they lose their remaining games, and Iceland lose their remaining games, then it is possible to have a 5-way tie at 3 wins and two losses. If that occurs there is not enough information to confirm how the tie-breaker would go yet. If Turkey beat Germany this would no longer be possible.18abruce (talk) 16:37, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Olympics basketball 12 men.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Olympics basketball 12 men.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Non-free rationale for File:JESC 2008 album cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:JESC 2008 album cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. No statistical information

edit

Your recent edits to List of countries in the Eurovision Song Contest have been removed as they did not comply with Wikipedia rules. Excessive usage of flag icons is prohibited as they are only to serve an informative purpose, and not a decorative manner as was clearly the case in your addition. This is in-line with the rules on WP:ICONDECORATION. Also the tables in the sections you altered must not contain voting results either as this violates WP:NOTSTATSBOOK. Voting information is on each of the annual contest articles as well as noted in Voting at the Eurovision Song Contest. So please refrain from making such edits in future. Thank you. Mass edits on 2016 Eurovision articles

edit

You made a series of edits on many 2016 Eurovision articles but didn't keep the voting section consistent across the articles. That wasn't very helpful. Pickette (talk) 19:01, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I have got to agree with @Pickette: on this matter, and also add that although it may have been a helpful intention to add a new section on split voting juries; but there are no sources and leaving the content as merely "TBA" is definitely pushing the boundary of WP:CRYSTAL. I'd suggest that those new sections be removed for now, until there are sources for each national jury, and only then add the content. Wes Mouse  09:59, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Romania dispute

It has been noted that you have engaged in an edit war recently over the choice of description for Romanian's withdrawal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Please note there is an active discussion taking place at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2016#Romania, Disqualified/Withdrew that I advise you to take a look and and perhaps contribute towards the debate, in order to reach a broad and mutual consensus with your fellow Wikipedian editors. April 2016

edit

Your recent editing history at Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Unacceptable behaviour

edit

Your behaviour in this edit is very unacceptable. Firstly, you should never use full upper case letters in any written context, as it is considered to be shouting, which is rude and can offend other editors and repeated behaviour like that can result in blocking sanctions. Always be respectful towards your fellow Wikipedians. Also the edit you made went against consensus. As was pointed out at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2016#Scoreboard table, the voting order has never been used on the scoreboard tables for contests post-2004. The countries are presented along the top row in alphabetical order. If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia in this way and ignore layout styles, then again you could face a block. I'm really sorry, I won't do this anymore, it will never happen again... 009988aaabbbccc 16:29, 4 June 2016 (CET)

Template edits

edit

There are some templates connected with Junior Eurovision in which you have included deliberate errors. For example Template:Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest you added 2016 as Portugal not taking part, yet on the article Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 there are no details to verify that Portugal are not taking part. Please be very careful when updating these templates that you make sure you update them 100% accurately, and not include big mistakes like that. If you are not sure, then it is probably best you leave the templates alone and only edit on articles that you feel confident in editing. Wes Mouse  T@lk 22:24, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Other templates you have added deliberate errors to are as follows:

I strongly urge that you be very very very careful and double-check everything, including sources, before introducing deliberate factual errors to these or any templates for ESC or JESC. If you ignore this advice and continue, then your actions will be deemed as deliberate and disruptive, which you can be blocked for. Wes Mouse  T@lk 22:34, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your help is required

edit

Hi there. I noticed your edit to Serbia and Montenegro in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and would like to thank you for that. Google Translator isn't always good, and I had hoped that someone would one day come along and fix any errors in the translations for the song titles. Anyway, with what you did has given me an idea, which will require your help, if you are OK with that?

Serbia and Montenegro in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest#Artist and song information requires expansion on information regarding the singer and the song that represented them in 2005. When I did a search on the internet, all the sources were in Serbian, and I did not understand what they were saying. Would you be so kind as to assist with this issue?

All that is required is to do a search for sources, write a brief bio for the singer, and then information on the song. I'll make sure you get a nice barnstar to show my thanks. Wes Mouse  T@lk 09:03, 3 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm Serbian. Košava is a kind of wind, I translated it as a storm. Grad is city or town in English. 009988aaabbbccc 11:10, 3 September 2016 (CET)
Yes, I know you are Serbian. That is why I said thank you for correcting the errors that I had made. And is also why I asked if you would like to help expand the article further on the "artist and song information" section of that article. All the sources I found are in Serbian, and I do not understand the language and therefore could not expand that section any more than it is now. Your help would be appreciated.   Hello, I'm Wesley Mouse. Your recent edit to the page Serbia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Australia only used the jury votes during the contest. They did not have televoting, therefore could not have awarded 2 "televote" points to Serbia. Wes Mouse  T@lk 23:41, 11 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement

edit
WikiProject Eurovision
Important Announcement

Dear Project Member

Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles.

Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you.

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Date formats

edit

At the moment, you appear to be adding the year-end peaks for Germany. Please make sure you add the correct date format for the page you're on, so January 1, 2017 for American artists and 1 January 2017 for British artists. Whichever date format is used for the charts already there is a good indicator. Thank you. Ss112 18:20, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Paragraph style

edit

I noticed that you changed the written style at Eurovision Song Contest 2017#Returning artists (as shown in this edit). You may not have noticed in the edit summary prior to your change, but I had already corrected the paragraph style two-hours previously. When presenting the returning artist section and in order to aim towards good article and feature article standards, we need to present the prose in continuous paragraph format, and avoid splitting the section into small pieces dedicated to each individual artist/group. I have therefore restored the section back to its original version. It would be appreciated in future if you could help to maintain the high standard on these articles. Thank you. Russian errors

edit

Just a couple of errors that I've had to revert. In this first error you changed the number of entries from 21 to 20. This was actually incorrect. Sergey was the 21st. The number of entries in that column never increases until the contest has ended. Your second error was removing not only the table legend to provide information on the colours used, but you also removed the withdrawal/disqualified field for 2017. Manual of style when dealing with an entry that was chosen but later withdrawn is to highlight in green. If a country withdrew without selecting (like Bosnia in 2017) then no colour is used. Wes Wolf Talk 19:27, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am deeply sorry, but I counted all the Russian participants (1994, 1995, 1997, 2000–2016), and I counted 20. So Sergey was actually 20th, Yulia would be 21st. User talk:009988aaabbbccc 21:30, 13 April 2017 (CEST)
You didn't count 1996 then? They might not have been in the final, but they did have an entry in the qualifying round. So Sergey is the 21st, not the 20th. Wes Wolf Talk 19:36, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
No, I didn't count 1996, as the official site doesn't count that appearance. User talk:009988aaabbbccc 21:38, 13 April 2017 (CEST)
(edit conflict) And just when I thought that article couldn't be in more of a mess, I've now noticed that some 2017 countries have been updated with the 2017 entry, and some have not. This now means having to go through each country article one-by-one and manually count them so the column is accurate. We have never in all the years of the project being around, updated the entry column with the current year until that contest has ended. All of the non-qualifiers from 1996 are included in the entry count – something which WP:ESC has always done. Wes Wolf Talk 19:40, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I understand that you update the number on their main page after the contest, because of the number of finals, am I right? But on that table in list of participating countries I have updated their number (NOT with 1993 and 1996). But OK. User talk:009988aaabbbccc 21:45, 13 April 2017 (CEST)

I can see exactly when you updated the column, and way too soon. Even though eurovision.tv don't account that appearance, on our article the column is about "entries" not "appearances". So all of the pre-qualifications (1993 and 1996) are included as the country had selected an entry. On the respective country articles, the infobox uses "appearances", those do not include 1993 and 1996, unless they actually appeared on the televised stage. I cannot be bothered wasting my time having to recount them all. So seeing as you updated the column a little too soon, then you can sort out the mess. Wes Wolf Talk 19:51, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

OK then. I'm sorry if I made some fatal errors... Greetings!!!User talk:009988aaabbbccc 22:01, 13 April 2017 (CEST)
They're not fatal errors, just minor ones. An easy mistake to do. That's why I thought it best to let you know, just in case you wasn't aware. Wes Wolf Talk 20:05, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Non-free content

edit

Unfortunately, the upload you made to File:ESC 2017 album cover.jpg cannot be accepted, as it violated the non-free content criteria, which prevents us from uploading copyright material that is not under fair use in-line with the copyright law of the United States. Album covers and logos must be at a specific size, and not any larger. So I have reverted your upload back to the correct size which brings us back into compliance with utmost strict copyright and fair use policies. Wes Wolf Talk 13:31, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Too soon

edit

Before adding voting tables into the 2017 country articles, at least check the edit history fort them all. They have been removed previously, as it is WP:TOOSOON for them. WikiProject Eurovision waits until the contest has ended before adding those tables. Any nested tables that contain WP:CRYSTAL content is best avoided. I've reverted what I can find, but self-revert the others you have done. I'm not a human mop. Wes Wolf Talk 01:25, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring and uncivil edit summaries

edit

Be very careful how you word your remarks in edit summaries, especially like this one, it is inappropriate behaviour and can lead to a WP:BLOCK. Also you have gone over the 3 revert rule, on Eurovision 2017, which unfortunately needs to be reported to admin, so the chances are you will be blocked temporarily because of that reason alone. Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:009988aaabbbccc reported by User:Wesley Wolf (Result: ). Thank you. Wes Wolf Talk 21:14, 14 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Lord Roem ~ (talk) 22:36, 14 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Old unsourced content

Hi 009988aaabbbccc. I'm not sure if you've met me before, but given I work on Eurovision articles, your username is a familiar sight. Anyway, I just needed to ask you about these edits, given the discussion going on at JESC 2016. They're unsourced, and given Wes and I are trying to bring the article to good article status, this simply isn't allowed. Could you please lend a hand and provide any information you might have? September 2017

edit

Your recent editing history at File:EuroB2017.png shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war.

Non-free rationale for File:VIVA Germany logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:VIVA Germany logo.jpg.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at 2018 FIFA World Cup. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Accessdates

edit

Hi. Can you please change the accessdates in references you add to pages? For instance, with this edit to Sunchyme, you've added an accessdate of "August 7, 2015". it's not 2015; please change the accessdate to the current date to verify that you have checked the content and made sure the link still works (and this demonstrates that you have done so to other editors). Thank you. Ss112 15:16, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, there is no need for the sortable function if you're adding just one chart position to a table. Ss112 15:17, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I did not mean just change the accessdate on the Sunchyme article. I meant can you change the accessdates in the references you're adding to all the pages you're editing. It is not 2015. Ss112 15:21, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:ESC 2018 album cover.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:ESC 2018 album cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 10 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Thanks for uploading File:VIVA Germany (1993-2018).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Image source problem with File:2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup final ranking.png

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup final ranking.png.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:09, 12 September 2019 (UTC). National final vs internal selection

edit

Hi, can you please explain why you made this edit? I've been seeing this more frequently and it doesn't seem accurate. In my mind, there can only be one process; either a national final selects the entrant or it's done internally. A network picking the songs and/or performers for a national final doesn't make it an internal selection because the entrant is still selected via a final. Non-free rationale for File:JESC 2019 album cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:JESC 2019 album cover.jpg.

Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:09, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

edit
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:ESC 2020 logo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:ESC 2020 logo.png.

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:33, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
