Schmidt edit

I think info about Schmidt takes to much space and is not really such an important episode of Alekperov's biography. --Grandmaster 06:58, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The name edit

I think in English the name should be Vahid Alakbarov. Since he was born and named in Azerbaijan, his name shouldn't be translated into English from "modified" name in Russian but Azerbaijani. In Azerbaijani and many other Iranian languages, Vahid (in Persian:وحید) means unique, see here. Besides, I think when his parents named him, they meant Vahid, not Vagit, which doesn't make any sense. --Gulmammad (talk) 16:36, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Moved to "Vagit Alekperov" per WP:UE. The majority of the English-language sources refer to him as "Alekperov", not "Alakbarov".—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:19, July 10, 2009 (UTC)

Request for Comments edit

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 04:12, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
