Segas "Fighting Vipers" edit

This article could really use a mention/hyperlink of Segas "Fighting Vipers" video game from the mid 1990s which the episode obviously got its name from. Sega designed this game ("Fighting Vipers) to be a more accessible 3D fighting game more akin to Tekken since their Virtua Fighter franchise was very popular in Japan but not as popular in other Asian countries (like Korea) around that time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wakywakywakywaky (talkcontribs) 07:34, 7 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Wakywakywakywaky! Wikipedia doesn't include original research so in order to mention this, we would first need a reliable source which discusses "Striking Vipers" and its resemblance to "Fighting Vipers". This ensures that the information is verifiable. If you're not familiar enough with editing Wikipedia to add references yet, then I can add the information to the article if you find such a source and put a link to it on this page. (And by the way, when you write a talk page post you should add your signature at the end by typing ~~~~. Thanks!) Bilorv (he/him) (talk) 10:22, 7 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

LGBT edit

I've added the page to Category:LGBT-related television episodes per:

Thank you for the sources; I'm now in agreement that the category is appropriate. — Bilorv (talk) 20:11, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Can we replace the "n.a."s in the fair use rationale for even just an explanation as to why n.a. applies to those particular elements of NFCC?
Done Added rationale template. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 11:41, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "whether neither person knew which co-worker the other was." awkward phrasing, I know what you're saying but something like "neither co-worker knew one another's identity" or similar might be a touch more elegant?
Think "whether neither co-worker knew the other's identity" puts it best. — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "are gay or committing infidelity" couldn't it reasonably be both?
Yeah these aren't supposed to have an implied connection—the perils of English using the same word for inclusive or ("you're at high risk if you're over 60 or have a heart condition (or both)") and exclusive or ("the reigning champion or the challenger will be the victor (but not both)"). Now "... about whether Danny and Karl are gay and whether their relationship is infidelity". — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "pretend to be strangers. After they have sex" at the bar??
"After they return home and have sex" — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "with whom he is married" to whom.
Done Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 11:42, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "dating around, currently seeing" and rather than comma. Not sure "dating around" is encyclopedic in tone.
I've just removed "dating around" altogether as we talk about "ladies' man" in the analysis but it doesn't mean much concretely to the plot. (I feel like the episode also gives off mixed messages where Karl doesn't imply it's serious at all, and then Theo asks Danny if it is and he acts unsure, and then later Karl is still seeing her?) — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Could link Interactive film for Bandersnatch. Should have seen that in the other reviews..."
Yep. Done in "Smithereens" too. — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "was informed by another source of inspiration." is that source the next sentence? If so instead of a full stop perhaps a colon to show the linkage?

  • "Within Striking Vipers, Danny" should that be Striking Vipers X? There are a couple of instances of this.
In all but two occurrences of Striking Vipers in italics, yes. In the odd ones out, it's about an unknown number (less than 10) that Danny and Karl play in the eleven-years-earlier scene. — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "website's summarises" no need for 's

  • "in the BBC" this reads odd to me.
"from the BBC" is probably better. — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • "such as Guy Lodge" doesn't read properly for me, maybe "such as that of Guy Lodge" or that by?
"such as that of The Guardian's Guy Lodge" to avoid the double "of", but yep. — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • didn't - avoid contractions.
Done for non-quotes. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 14:31, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref 20 needs an en-dash not a spaced hyphen.

  • Consistency on repeating links, e.g. ref 49 doesn't link Hollywood Reporter but ref 50 does.
Yep, now linked (and no other missing links I could see). — Bilorv (talk) 16:07, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

That's it, typically well written article, so on hold for now. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 10:49, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Will do... it'll be the last episode both in terms of getting them all to GA and by release order. — Bilorv (talk) 16:21, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
