I think that he wasn't too far away from it at one point in the mid 1960s. Basil D'Oliveira made his Test debut in 1966. He was a much better bat than Storey, but not as good a bowler. There was also Barry Knight around at this time, as well as Ray Illingworth and Fred Titmus. Tony Greig came on the scene a little later. There were almost twice as many f-c games a season in the 1960s compared with now, so aggregates, as opposed to averages, need tro be treated with caution. All that said, he was a jolly good player, and a favourite of mine. I may have got a bit carried away in the length of the aricle. :) JH (talk page) 19:28, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Incidentally, I may be biased, having written the article, but I reckon that it's worth a "B" rather than "Start". :)
