Demise? edit

Interesting topic, thanks for writing this! I'm unclear from the article text...did it stop publishing in 1974 after going to a monthly format? Or did it continue? I take it that the paper is no longer published...but do we know when it ceased? -Pete Forsyth (talk) 21:06, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good question. I've searched the USC archives and the last issue I found was on February 7 1975 but according to the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture and the National Institute of Korean History (in Korean)" it was acquired in September 1974.User:Mlee965
I had the same question, and it doesn't seem clarified here or on the article Korean National Association. However, the Library of Congress' page on Sinhan Minbo seems so say (at least how I interpret it) in the notes section:
  • Published monthly since January 1993.
  • Publication was suspended from the period between November 1912 to June 1913.
  • Publication was moved to Los Angeles on January 9, 1941.
  • The latest issue consulted was on December 6, 1990 (in romanized Korean, it said "1990-yŏn 12-wŏl 6-il").
This seems to suggest publication lasted after it was acquired at least until 1990, which is very recent. The point regarding when the newspaper started publishing monthly is confusing, since 1993 is after the acquisition and long after the other source suggested, but perhaps the Library of Congress did not have the exact start date or I misinterpreted the point? In either case, some of this information could be valuable.ChromeGames923 (talk) 02:08, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
