MISS KYRGYZSTAN

edit

Please, let's stop adding this girl's participation as fact until it's confirmed; the source are only assuming that she, being Miss Kyrgyzstan, goes to Miss Universe, when that is not corroborated. There are also say that she confirmed it on her Instagram, which is not true. Miss Kyrgyzstan has only participated once, it is not an organization that usually sends a candidate for Miss Universe. Please, wait for more information.--Alex Duilius (talk) 00:16, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Indonesian source kompasiana.com

edit

Kompasiana.com should not be used as a source because, per their about us page (translated to English), "Kompasiana is an online blog and publication platform developed by Kompas Cyber Media since October 22, 2008. Any content (articles, photos, comments) is created and live by Internet Users who already have a Kompasiana Account (called Kompasianer)." In other words, user-generated content which is not admissible as a reliable source. - Bri.public (talk) 16:24, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Why is someone deleting Miss Guadeloupe, Danitzia Logis from the contestants list? Her territory already got the Miss Universe franchise and she is confirmed to participate.

Korea/South Korea name dispute

edit

It has been discussed and agreed multiple times that South Korea, who competes as Korea at Miss Universe will be named as South Korea in Wikipedia in accordance to WP:COMMONNAME. But why are some editors still insisting on Korea?

Edit: Even Slovakia also has this case as well. Although they compete as Slovak Republic, Slovakia is still the name to be used at Wikipedia because of WP:COMMONNAME. Please, try to read Wikipedia guidelines before editing even if that's what's written in the sashes.

The "Korea" dispute... Again.

edit

So since a new Miss Universe Korea was crowned, some editors have been putting her as Korea and not South Korea. As per WP:COMMONNAME South Korea should be used, so if you see South Korea, it just means it's edited as per Wikipedia policies.

edit

https://www.zougla.gr/politismos/article/mis-universe-grece-2021-sti-8esi-tis-katerinas-kouvoutsaki-i-sofia-arapogiani

The Beauty Institution GS HELLAS informs you that in the global celebration of beauty, MISS UNIVERSE 2021, in place of Katerina Kouvoutsaki - STAR GS HELLAS 2021, Sophia Aapogianni - MISS GS HELLAS 2021 will take part.

As of today, the new MISS UNIVERSE GREECE 2021 is Sofia Arapogianni. The beauty Katerina Kouvoutsaki will not be able to represent our country, at the pinna crow of the world, for health reasons that do not allow her to travel. We wish you well and throw all our momentum to MISS GS HELLAS 2021.

Sofia Aapogianni is only 22 years old, originating from the beautiful island of Greece and Odysseus, Ithaca. He finishes as a merchant captain at the Merchant Navy School of Greece. She speaks 3 languages: Greek as a native, English and Spanish.

It has a height of 1.74 cm and 50 kg. It has a unique exotic beauty, since with a Greek dad and a mom from Venezuela the result is highly explosive! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.50.45.91 (talk) 18:35, 12 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Miss Universe Date

edit

Hello there, since the pageant will air live at Israel at 2am, the date should be based on the host country's date December 13. This is similar to various editions outside U.S. such as 2018, it's Dec16 U.S. time but Dec17 Thailand time. Thank you. 49.145.136.50 (talk) 13:18, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

edit

A person purporting to be Miss Greece was discovered not to be Miss Greece. Incorrect country names

edit

According to Miss Universe’s own alphabetization system on their own website, Bahamas is just listed as Bahamas. No “The”. Also, “South Korea” is simply listed as “Korea” at Miss Universe. I’m not sure how to change around that section without messing it up, though. 2603:6010:C0F:AF39:8C08:F4D:92AE:DCA (talk) 03:09, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

change the date of December 12, 2021 to December 13, 2021. This is because previous Wikipedia articles like the 2018 article has the international date listed and not the United States date like the one currently shown on this page. You can't kknow (talk) 00:18, 14 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Maybe the fact that people could vote from their mobiles should be added?

edit

Hello,

I read the article and I think in order to be complete needs to add the fact that for the first time people had the option to vote for their favorite by using a mobile app. https://choicely.com/news/media-release--the-70th-miss-universe-fan-vote-launched--powered-by-choicely--

Please consider adding this fact into the description. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.216.95.226 (talk) 12:49, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
