Numbers

edit

At Columbia, he was a member of the Columbia Lions football team, and played in the game that broke Columbia's notorious 42-game losing streak.

I just think that's awfully ironic, since 42 is one of The Numbers Morhange 04:56, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It was 44 games, not 42. Jiggz84 03:40, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Blue Jays fan?

edit

He confirmed in a December 5th interview on the Canadian network Much Music that he was not even a baseball fan, let alone a Blue Jays fan. Unless he was kidding around the statement that he is a fan of the Jays should be removed from the article. --Carl Brutananadilewski 23:05, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Third child?

edit

The article cited on his page that says he and his wife are expecting a third child is dated November 2006, so if it was true, the child would be born by now. Anyone have any more information on this?

Fair use rationale for Image:Jacklost.PNG

edit

Image:Jacklost.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Wind River High School

edit

Wind River High School in Pavillion, Wyoming is not an indian school. The majority (75%) of the school is white and always has been. Most of the Native Americans go to Wyoming Indian, St.Stephens,or the charter school in Fort Washakie. I think the writer of the story might have exgaggerated this for effect. My husband and I are both Wind River graduates and found this to be quite silly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.72.69.100 (talk) 02:57, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Place of Birth

edit

Where was Matthew Fox born? In his info box it says he was born in Exton, Pennsylvania while the first sentence of his bio states he was born in Crowheart, Wyoming. Does anyone know which one is correct? -Zomic13 (talk) 05:30, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, IMDB lists his birthplace as Abington, Pennsylvania. -Zomic13 (talk) 05:31, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I was wondering if it would be appropriate for someone to add an external link to the ZotFish page for Matthew Fox?. I believe it's of genuine interest to readers, but I want to make sure I follow Wikipedia policy and not post it myself -- more info on the site can be found at Mashable.

Zotman (talk) 03:32, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The site violates WP:ELNO and WP:NOT#REPOSITORY, and it does not enhance the article. It should not be added. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 15:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Duplication

edit

There is a lot of duplication between the introductory biography and the personal life section. Racepacket (talk) 11:59, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

No relation to Mass Effect.

edit

Stop adding this to his page. Fox has nothing to do with any Mass Effect projects, and your personal wishes to the contrary have no effect on that. LeoNatan 06:08, 21 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lnatan25 (talkcontribs)

American-English

edit

If Meade was a great-grandfather, then Fox is Irish, too. "Gen. MEADE, the new leader of the Army of the Potomac, is the grandson of GEORGE MEADE, of Philadelphia, an eminent Irish-American merchant, whose firm (MEADE & FITZSIMMONS) contributed in 1781 $10,000 to a fund for the relief of the famishing army of Gen. WASHINGTON." -- New York Times, July 2, 1863 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.3.11.157 (talk) 16:16, 12 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Surely He's English too, if his father was English... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.169.57 (talk) 22:16, 18 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please read the section again. It says that his father is of English "descent" not meant that he has or had British citizenship. Also be aware that you should not make edits to the article without providing WP:RSs. MarnetteD | Talk 23:08, 18 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Restoring and Adding Relevant Information on Personal Life

edit

This information and source link were removed some time ago and should not have been. This info is crucial to a balanced point of view. WP:NPOV and WP:UNDUE. I am restoring the sentence and link to the Ellen clip. Also, I'm adding appropriate facts on response to the accusations. Additional info about Fox's love of flying is also being added. Tropic Wolf (talk) 11:50, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Additional information for the purpose of the Talk page, on how the assault allegations might have negatively impacted Fox's career and why we must include his proclamations of innocence.[1] This balance of facts should not have been removed. Tropic Wolf (talk) 11:58, 9 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I notice the article uses the word "refuted" to describe Matthew Fox's response to Dominic Monaghan's tweet. The word "refute" means proving something false, which requires some evidence as disproof; however, I don't see that reflected in the article. The word "denied" would be more accurate here.MaxWestEsq (talk) 19:22, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
