María Lionza (goddess)

@Kingsif: was it you that wrote the article? Excellent work! I wanted to ask you, if you have the time, to make a small summarized section (maybe just one paragraph) about the statue in María Lionza. @Kingsif: Today I started reading the refs that were available in María Lionza's article and I was surprised on how much information was already there waiting to be added to Wikipedia. I got inspired (one could say by María Lionza herself) to expand the article. Take a look, if you can expand the statue section it would be great. Again, nothing big, but a few lines on why was created or some interesting fact about the statue would greatly improve the quality of the article. --ReyHahn (talk) 12:13, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

María Lionza (statue) → Statue of María Lionza – I propose moving to make this entry more consistent with similar publicly displayed portrait statues, per WP:VAMOS, which says, "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere). • Oppose per Kingsif, well said. Also, the statue and its name represent a goddess in an action pose, not really an individual standing there in a portrait sculpture. Where is the statue?

Kingsif do you know where is the statue located right now? Is it in Sorte mountain? It is just to update the María Lionza article. ReyHahn (talk) 09:35, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
