  • I can't find any mention of why he received MVP votes in 1936. He followed a great, MVP-winning 1935 season, with a merely good season in 1936 with a .307 batting average, so some of the votes may have been from the residual effect his 1935 season had on the memories of sportswriters.Orsoni (talk) 12:16, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

• I believe this article meets WP:WIAGA and am passing it now. If this article ever goes to FAC, I would like to see who Hartnett surpassed in establishing catcher records of 236 home runs, 1,179 runs batted in, 1,912 hits, and 396 doubles.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:29, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
