- ... that Dick Harris was selected in the first round of the 1949 NFL draft, with the second pick of the 1949 AAFC draft, in the 1950 NFL draft, and in the 1951 NFL draft, but never played professionally? Source: Pro Football Archives (archived) (note that it says fourth overall for the AAFC but that's wrong, as you can see here)
- ALT1: ... that football player Dick Harris was selected in professional drafts four times, including twice as a first-round pick, but never played professionally? Source: same
- ALT2: ... that Dick Harris was a first-round NFL draft pick and was chosen in three other drafts but declined each offer so he could enter the oil business? Source: same + [1] (oil)

- Comment: Realized I'm a day late in nominating this; requesting an extension per Wikipedia:Did you know/Guidelines. Prefer either ALT0 or ALT2; open to other ways of wording this as well.

- Newly written, long enough, cited throughout. The ironically titled "Professional career" section details the four times that he was drafted, and yet didn't play professionally. I think I like ALT1 the best. ALT0 is a bit clunky. ALT2 is fine. QPQs are pending. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:21, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

- I'd like the lead to be a little longer.
- "something only one other Longhorn ever accomplished (Bobby Layne)" Does that mean up to that point, or present day?
- "the second-best center in Wichita Falls history" Does that mean the high school or just people from that town?
- That's all I could find for this one. Great work. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 20:21, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9: Added a little to the lead, corrected the 'second-best' part. As for the Bobby Layne part, I'm not completely sure. It's from his Texas Hall of Fame profile; he was inducted in 1971. Thoughts? BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:43, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- The SWC ceased to exist in 1996 , so I'd say the online Hall of Fame profile is right. Passing the article. Nice work. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 18:14, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
