in fact, Shinzo Ningen Casshern anime is born before the movie, so i think all could be included in the same page with properly sections.--Drachen 13:04, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Are you saying you want to Merge Casshan and Casshern? Because if you want to list a notice that you want to merge one page into the other, you can list the template on the pages, and then we can vote on the move. -Maaya 13:54, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
Rather than merge, why don't we add differences between the movie and anime so we make the two pages more distinguishable from one another. I added in a few tidbits on Casshern dealing with box office, critical response (somewhat) and the possibility of an American release. Unfortunately I forgot to sign in when I did this, so it's under 70.etc.etc instead of my name. I would like to ask if someone can get the actual box office total for the movie in Japan and perhaps add in more info on how the movie was critically recieved when it was first released.--Wil2197 05:39, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Plot Synopsis / Background edit

Anybody currently working on one? --Gar2chan 03:15, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
There is a plot? :P--Baston1975 09:17, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just rented this movie and quite frankly was pretty pissed off about the whole thing. Trying to make some metaphysical comment about humanity's lust for violence and combining that with some final fantasy-esque vision of spirits and 1950's technology. What the hell was this movie really trying to say? For that matter what is the plot... I mean really? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.80.84.239 (talk) 07:35, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

In-depth analysis isn't necessary for the plot synopsis, and is usually saved for the main body of the article. If the messages and motifs are a big thing for the piece (e.g. The Matrix), then they're usally mentioned in passing. -Biokinetica (talk) 09:51, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed, this movie was worse than listening to Howard Stern. I'll try typing something up. Big Boss Inc. (talk) 20:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

As you can see, the plot synopsis has been written very flippantly (vandalism?), some unverified claims are made and characters are not referred to by their names but rather nicknames made up by the Wikipedia author (e.g., Neo Dante etc.), and it requires immediate attention as this poor version seems to be the only one available. I can do so myself if nobody else takes the responsibilty, when I get the time. This seems kind of important. Casshernfan (talk) 14:03, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's always quite hilarious when morons who don't understand amazing movies like this then bitch and complain how horrible it was simply because it was too complicated for them. 58.170.159.232 (talk) 09:53, 4 January 2009 (UTC) HarlequinReply

The above user is a total fag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.247.114.135 (talk) 18:38, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have the original version that was released in Japan on DVD (run-time is 2 hours, 20 minutes, 33 seconds). So, commencing clean-up. --Razelas (talk) 18:29, 29 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Severely EDITED US EDITION edit

I was thinking maybe we should put something into this page about the fact that the U.S. DVD release of Casserne was only 80 minutes runtime (According to Dreamworks and Amazon) while the origional foreign release was 141 Minutes (According to amazon)198.146.59.53 23:37, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Explanation of End edit

"Casshern and Luna embrace each other, and Luna rips out Tetsuya's containment suit. The screen goes white, and then shows all of the dead souls gather to eventually be reborn in another life."

I am not necessarily in agreement with this, the finale is somewhat open to interpretation and not so easily explained, and this seems more opinion than fact. Nonetheless, I won't change this without any kind of consensus on the matter. I think that earlier explanations of the ending were maybe more accurate, so if anyone else has seen the film can they compare edits and decide on which is best suited? Thanks!

Spoiler edit

Why the bloody hell don't people put spoiler warnings before describing the damn plot on Wikipedia anymore? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.129.147.223 (talk) 16:26, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Because the spoiler warning is the big title called "plot" you fucking idiot. We don't do that "anymore" because every single movie page contains a plot, if a plot occurs. For the life of me I don't know why such ignorant people as yourself STILL havn't picked up on this after years of it occuring. 58.170.159.232 (talk) 09:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC) HarlequinReply

Plot differences between US and Japanese releases edit

I haven't seen the US version of this film. From some reviews I've read and the obvious difference in length of the film, it seems likely that large, plot-necessary chunks of the film were removed.

Has anyone seen both versions of the film? Or have a link to a site comparing them? I think it would be nice to include a section about the specific differences between the versions.Mjatucla (talk) 05:30, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
