David Cannadine's essay on Lord Birkenhead (review of the 1983 John Campbell biog, reprinted in "The Pleasures of the Past") mentions Buns Cartwright in the same sentence as Maundy Gregory, as an unsavoury and corrupt character with whom Birkenhead was associated in the latter part of his career. I know nothing about Cartwright and he doesn't seem to have an ODNB article. Probably worth adding some details. Maybe there are some in the 1983 book listed above, but my copy is boxed up somewhere.Paulturtle (talk) 15:46, 6 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
