I think that describing Jesse Helms as the "future senator" is confusing. It should read simply "Senator Jesse Helms." Andromeda1960 (talk) 19:07, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Andromeda1960 The article's categories are 'LGTB stub' and 'Gay writer', but it is mentionned nowhere in the article that A.M. is gay. Also, couldn't be a 'Literature stub' mention - or similar - be added? (please : this is not an homophobic comment, I just didn't know that A.M. was gay, and I thought the main category of the article would be more smth tike literature). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vero ko (talkcontribs) .Reply

Which partner is that in the picture, the current one or the former one (since it's at Sundance, where the movie whose script was cowritten by his former partner was premiered, it could be either)--Thespian 07:02, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thespian, that's his new partner Chris Roma - I made the addition to the text for the picture. NickBurns 19:42, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to an interview with Maupin at 365gay.com the gentleman's name is Christopher Turner. Cleduc 17:49, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
An interview in Time Out New York also says that the partner's name is Christopher Turner:

"I have a boyfriend, Christopher Turner, who’s 34. Modern guy that I am, I saw him on a website. I didn’t respond by way of the Web; I chased him down Castro Street, saying, “Didn’t I see you on Daddyhunt.com?” I feel like I’m 25 again."

I'm not sure the anagram portion is relevant, since it is speculative. Cliffie97 02:22, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Man vs works edit

It's not too bad now....but this article is dangerously close to talking more about his work - in particular "Tales" - than the man himself. There is a separate "Tales" article where that kind of stuff should go....I am trying to search for more verifiable info about him and his earlier days - ie, the friendship with Rock Hudson, etc. I deleted a line about fans of "Tales" being Barbaryphiles, because that really needs to go into the "Tales of The City" article. Plot of The Night Listener edit

I have rephrased this because I thought it could be mis-read to suggest Maupin plagiarized Anthony Godby Johnson's book. CarolGray 12:24, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Citation 13 edit

Citation 13 is not a correct citation. It is a citation about him being one of the first authors to write about AIDS. The citation does not represent that. RyanDanielst (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
