What is a TMD mission? edit

Abbreviations like this should either be spelled out on first use, or be linked to another Wikipedia article. WeeWillieWiki (talk) 01:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

TMD means Theater Missile Defence. I changed it. Para-OZ (talk) 13:20, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Should 25DD be classfied as new thread or subclass of Akizuki Class edit

Hi All,

According to the Japanese wiki page http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/25DD, the 25DD is going to be based on the Akizuki Class (2010). Question is, should it be created as a new topic or should it be added to the current Akizuki page?

A rough translation as below from the 25DD page. Needs proof reading as i have no formal education in Japanese.

Thank you!

Class: DD (General Purpose) Construction: TBA Preceded by: Akizuki Class DD (2010) Displacement: Standard 5000t Length: 151m Width: 18.3m Depth: Draft:

Propulsion COGLAG 2 x LM2500 Integrated Electric Propulsion Gas Turbine 2 x Transformer (2.5MW) 2 x Propeller

Speed: Maximum 30t Crew: Armament 1 x 127mm Mark 45/L62 2 x Phalanx CIWS 2 x 4 Type 90 SSM 16 Cell Mark 41 VLS ESSM VL ASROC

Mark 32 Torpedo Launcher Type 12 Torpedo

Helicopter: SH60K Helicopter C4I: ATECS Radar: FCS-3 Derivative Anti Surface Radar (TBA) Sonar: OQQ-24 OQR-4 ECM

The 25DD is conceived in the Heisei 25 defense budget which had appropiated 701 Billion yen for construction of a new General Purpose Escort Ship. It will be a subclass of Akizuki Destroyer (2010) and also known as the 5000 ton Destroyer in media attachments.

Speciality The model resembles the Akizuki Class, and the FCS-3 is mounted higher than the smokestack. The bow of the Destroyer will hold a 16 cell VLS, a 50% reduction compared to the Akizuki. 4 of the cells contains ESSM for AAW. The Ministry is considering using an idigenous design instead of the current Thales APAR derived Illuminator.

In addition, the following features will be equipped on the 25DD 1. Improved Submarine detection to counter the new submarine designs (A multi static sonar will be used for Anti Submarine operations) 2. New, low fuel COGLAG with IEP. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.15.77.71 (talk) 01:26, 8 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
