An upcoming American space opera film is being directed by Shawn Levy. Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film will be part of the Star Wars franchise.

Levy was in talks to direct a new Star Wars film in November 2022. Development on the film began in 2023.

In November 2022, Deadline Hollywood reported that Shawn Levy was in talks to direct a Star Wars film, following his work on Deadpool and Wolverine (2024), and the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.[1] In September 2023, Levy revealed that development on the film had begun but has since stalled due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.[2]
