Hello, I'm Manticore. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Fintan O'Toole, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! — Manticore 12:07, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Wiwikiya. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Wiwikiya. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Wiwikiya|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message.

You continue to create articles solely connected to the University College of Dublin, you are required to disclose if you have a connection to UCD. Today you created [1] which states she was a UCD Alumna, the article was rightly redirected to Keeling by Formal Dude. Then you created Ciaran Connell another UCD Alumni; and a draft for Clodah Berry, another UCD Alumn, and worked on Colin Ryan, Caoilfhionn Gallagher, Caitriona Palmer, and Ann Derwin, all UCD Alumni. The encyclopedia is not to be used to promote UCD alumni or anything else. Netherzone (talk) 15:01, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Conrad Burke, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Wiwikiya, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Wiwikiya|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Please respond to the warnings and state your connection to UCD and the UCD Alumni awards. Netherzone (talk) 20:41, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have received several inquiries/notifications from several editors regarding COI and UPE, but have chosen not to respond. Wikipedia is a collaborative project and communication is required. Netherzone (talk) 13:16, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. Storchy (talk) 08:05, 18 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi I am being paid for editing, thank you for all the advise. I will follow all the rules and regulations. Wiwikiya (talk) 19:51, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Wiwikiya. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. It seems that the vast majority of your edits are to promote people with an affiliation to the University College Dublin or the UCD Alumni awards. What is your affiliation with that institute? Deletion discussion about Ciaran Connell

edit

Hello, Wiwikiya, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Meatsgains, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ciaran Connell, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ciaran Connell.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meatsgains}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Speedy deletion of Cormac Kilty

edit

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Cormac Kilty has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://alumni.ucd.ie/awards/awardee/cormac-kilty/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Overwriting the David Burke and Colin Ryan disambiguation page

edit

I have reverted the edits you made to the David Burke and Colin Ryan disambiguation pages. A disambiguation page helps Wikipedia users find articles identified with the same name or similar names. The correct course of action would have been to create a new reliably sourced article about the UCD graduates (you seem focused on adding content about UCD - Do you have a conflict of interest (WP:COI)?), and then to link the new articles from the disambiguation page. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia by overwriting disambiguation pages. Paul W (talk) 11:31, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Delia Grace Randolph

edit

Hello Wiwikiya,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Delia Grace Randolph for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Eamonn Sinnott moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Eamonn Sinnott, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 22:47, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
