Assessing

What is your opinion upon my importance assessment of HTC One (2013) and HTC One (M8)? I think previous "low" importance wasn't correct.

I would suggest also to follow the same style of naming the articles. Either both HTC One (2013)/(2014) or (M7/M8). Also please take a look at the disambiguation page and update it. Ie, currently HTC One (2013) being used, however on the disambiguation page it is written (M7). Dmatteng (talk) 07:21, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Reply on Better Image

Hi Thanks for the appreciation of the image renders. But the first image has copyright issues especially the Optimus UI that is all rights reserved by LG Corporation that is why its is always removed in the renders. The image was made sure that it would be as accurate as possible. Regarding white, it was easier to work with white models than other colors and G2 has also a white model so i think that need not to be an issue. If there are minor inaccuracies in the image, please tell me instead and ill try to correct it in all my power. Thanks! GadgetsGuy (talk) 16:01, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Copyright issues? But that's an image sourced from LG themselves, which means that they would have authorization to do so. ViperSnake151  Talk  16:21, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
Based on the review I made with the user Fetx2002 who uploaded the images, he has been involved in some flickrwashed image uploads before. Also I do think that despite the image being under the "creative commons" tag, the interface (Optimus UI, Touchwiz UX, HTC Sense UI, etc) is still copyrighted as per same ruling followed at deviantART about such renders. On another note, I already fixed your concern on the LG devices. GadgetsGuy (talk) 16:30, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi sorry if it took time before I could reply again, I was able to find 1 previous talk that was similar to what we are currently talking about at the talk page of User:Frmorrison. I reviewed the talk and the images involved in the dispute which are from Samsung Galaxy S4 and IPhone 5S that like the current LG uploads by User:Fetx2002, which are devices with their UI interfaces in them were removed or deleted subsequently and were both replaced with free-use images without the UI interfaces so as to avoid any irregularities in licensing of the images especially the UI which should have its own license. So I move that we just remove the interfaces and I will not hesitate to be the one to do it.GadgetsGuy (talk) 08:00, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Since you mentioned me, I uploaded a screenshot of the TouchWiz UI. The first shot showed the hardware around the UI, but then I changed the screenshot to only show the UI and then the other person was satisfied. Here is another example, the iOS screenshot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IOS_7.1_homescreen.png.Frmorrison (talk) 18:09, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
I dont see any reason why the G2 image needs to be reverted to the old one especially if you already admitted yourself that my images are cropped and is illustrated better. Plus the case of User:Frmorrison above is enough to prove that not everything in an image is of free use even if its licensed as such. So for now i will revert it back to the new image. Plus I think its unfair to close a nomination of an image without any prior notice of such happening to the other party. Besides im not asking for a deletion, but instead just replacing the image in the G2 article. GadgetsGuy (talk) 23:06, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Assessment review advice

Greetings ViperSnake151,

I am writing to seeking peer review volunteers who would be willing to assist with an A-class review for an article relating to WikiProject Eurovision. According to the A-class assessment advice, if a project does not have their own formal WikiProject reviewing team, that the other option is to follow the basic assessment method. Upon researching this further, I have discovered that such process involves seeking independent reviewers (including peer review volunteers) that have an expert knowledge in the field relating to the article topic, and requesting if they would mind undergoing the A-class review process on a Project's behalf.

As you kindly did a GA review for Project Eurovision on the article Eurovision Song Contest 2013 last year, I was wondering if you would mind assisting with an A-class review on the article Eurovision Song Contest 2012, at a time that is convenient for yourself?

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to reading your response.

Alcohol (drug)

Those changes are not done blindly. However when it is about the substance, then reverting the WP:POV change is generally going to be to the substance. Most of these are going to be for the actual alcohol article. However some have been to alcoholic beverages and ethanol. The BAC article admits the ethanol is the principal form that is involved and many of the test only detect it, note that an alternate term for BAC is 'blood ethanol concentration' so when you are talking about intoxication and drinking, that should be taken into account. Finally the drug article at the very beginning says that the main articles are alcohol and ethanol. So the question the should be asked which article is better in the context of the text. If one of the main articles it better then use it. Vegaswikian (talk) 16:12, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Manual of Style on Trademarks

Not sure exactly what you're referring to. "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official", as long as this is a style already in widespread use," is the closest one I see.

But clearly most media is referring to it as the Mate2, not the Mate 2. And it's the Galaxy S5, not the S 5...

Also, it's ESPN2, not ESPN 2 Yi Ding (talk) 02:59, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

That's different, because they're all letters/numbers and pronounced individually. In fact, out of the three refs on that article, I see three different styles (Ascend Mate2, Mate 2, Mate II) ViperSnake151  Talk  03:04, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello. You reverted out a reference to a rather recent article in Investor's Business Daily on Iliad SA and also the proposed purchase of a majority interest in T-Mobile US. You cited in one case, the T-Mobile US article, the citation as being "unnecessary citation". You simply removed it also from the other article. All without discussion. 5NAF - You sure that's OR?

The way the source put it was "For those who manage to fight their way through the five nights of your employment, a sixth night will start up to torture you." Or were you talking about the main game being five nights? --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 02:46, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to HTC One (2013) does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, even if it is very brief, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Bobherry talk 18:15, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Please read policies

I am not going to get blocked for this again so listen up. The user who left you that message is a banned user. It is policy to remove banned user's edits, no matter the content. Read WP:BANREVERT. Just it's your talk page does not change things. That user is not allowed to edit, period. I don't know why I'm his favorite target now but it's something we have to deal with. So please do not restore the text. Please adhere to WP:BANREVERT and WP:DENY.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 18:47, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Also as a side note, I ask for you to give me the respect of leaving me a personally written message instead of plastering a user warning template on my user talk.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 18:52, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Viper, you don't have to let Ryulong edit your talk page. This same situation happened with me 6 months ago. He would continue to revert edits from a supposed "banned" user on my talk page. Ryulong would revert, the other editor would post again, over and over. It only stopped when Ryulong stopped following my talk page. Consensus was in my favor that an editor has control over their talk page; not anyone else.[1]X96lee15 (talk) 19:07, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Not this garbage again. Banned users are revert, block, ignore situations and this is giving him more fuel for the fire by this being a discussion and you giving him carte blanche to post here or anywhere because you don't want me to do anything.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 19:13, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Alls I know is that everything stopped and went back to normal after you stopped editing my talk page. — X96lee15 (talk) 19:23, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
And "alls I know" is that I've done nothing to receive the harassment from this new banned user who's harassing dozens of other editors including myself.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 19:26, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Blanket reverts

Really now. Why do you keep removing everything I add to the article? You even went so far as to undo a null edit I made to make sure I had a correction in my edit summaries. And why do you keep adding the "Duck" mention? I've seen no sources that say "Duck".—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 16:19, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
