Welcome edit

February 2012 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tsenkharla Middle Secondary School has been reverted.
Your edit here to Tsenkharla Middle Secondary School was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://tsenkharlamiddlesecondaryschool.blogspot.com/p/about-us.html) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 04:39, 8 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The recent edit you made to Tsenkhar Middle Secondary School has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see here for what to do. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Wombu Karma samdrup edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wombu Karma samdrup requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Yunshui  08:21, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The need for notability edit

Hi Tgyeltshen, and welcome to Wikipedia. As you can see from the above messages, I've had to nominate a couple of your created articles for deletion today. This is because they do not seem to meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion.

Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. In order for a topic to have an article here, there must be reliable sources showing that the subject is notable. Without such sources, or even a claim to notability, articles will be deleted.

I appreciate that you're keen to contribute, and we could certainly use more information on Bhutan. However, please can you ensure that you provide references for any future articles you create. I'd strongly suggest reading the following pages:

  • WP:NOTE, which tells you how to assess whether or not someone or something is notable.
  • WP:RS, which tells you how to identify reliable sources.
  • WP:CITE, which tells you how to use sources in an article.

If you need any help, please ask at the helpdesk or feel free to contact me on my talkpage. Regards, Yunshui  08:28, 9 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

In response to your feedback edit

Jimfbleak deleted that article because it was (in whole or in part) copied and pasted from the school's website. You should use other websites as a source of ideas, not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright seriously, so the article was deleted. If you have permission from the school to freely release the text under an open-content license, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the required procedure.

Disambiguation link notification edit

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

College of Science and Technology (Bhutan) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
added links pointing to English, Environment, Department, Provosts, Bridges, Commitment, Civil, Five Year Plan and Positive attitude

Avoiding copyright problems edit

Hello, and welcome. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source if public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to visit me at my talk page .

I've found cut-and-paste editing or close paraphrasing in several of your articles; please review all of your work to date to be sure it is rephrased in your own words. I also found citations with retrieval dates of 2009 (?), so please double check those. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:48, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Multiple copyvios edit

Hi, Tgyeltshen. I've checked the articles you created listed here, and each of them contained text that was copied and pasted from the sources. Please see the information I posted above, and if you have copy-pasted text into any other articles, please be sure to go back and remove it or re-write it to paraphrase it in your own words. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:53, 2 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've just now noticed that Calliopejen1 notified you above of other copyvios; please be aware that if you continue to copy text from sources, you could be blocked. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:59, 2 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I was asked to take a look also, because I work with many school articles, and the advice you've been given is what I too would say. I'm just reminding you that you've now been warned twice, and another copyvio will probably result in a block. Additionally, the work you've put into it will be lost, because the article will either be reduced to a one-sentence stub, or turninginto a cross-reference to the place, or even deleted entirely. There's no point continuing this way.
WP is intended as a free content encyclopedia : that's our basic reason for existence. This means that all of our content must be able to be reused by anybody freely, just giving us credit, which in turn credits the person who added the material. And not just be able to be used: it's intended to be reused; we hope for reuse; we want to not just provide information ourselves but to help others provide it. People have to be confident that when they take material from here, it is OK that they do so--that there is no copyright that belongs to someone else that they may be violating. So it really matters, and we need to protect our users, not just ourselves, against copyright violation. DGG ( talk ) 03:08, 2 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Logo of the Royal University of Bhutan.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Royal University of Bhutan.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:35, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Paro College of Education edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paro College of Education requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.pce.edu.bt/about-us/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for February 27 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Khamdang Gewog, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nye (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
