Hello, I'm Chlod. I noticed that you recently removed content from Ferdinand Marcos without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. IPA for Sarah Geronimo

Hi, I'd like to inquire into your edit to Sarah Geronimo, which changed the IPA from this: Tagalog pronunciation: [hɛˈɾɔnɪmo], to /hɛərˈɒnɪm/ hair-ON-ih-moh. I'd like to know why you changed the template. I feel that using {{IPA-tl}} would be more appropriate especially for a Filipino singer. {{IPA-tl}} is used on Jose Rizal, Rodrigo Duterte, and other articles. A diehard editor (talk | edits) 23:57, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

@A diehard editor: I am planning to make Sarah Geronimo a featured article. Take a look at the article for Regine Velasquez as an example. Its pronunciation listed is not using {{IPA-tl}}, but rather {{IPAc-en}}. It's because the article went through FAC, which is a consensus-driven process before the article was promoted a featured article. RMXY (talkcontribs) 01:05, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
Neither Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Regine Velasquez/archive3 or the other pages linked on the Article milestones banner on Velasquez's talk page makes no mention of what IPA template was used. So, I don't thinkl that when you Geronimo up for review the reviewers will care much about what template is used. So I still think {{IPA-tl}} is most appropriate.
But as a compromise, we could simply change it to /hɛrˈɒnɪm/, as I have never heard anyone pronounce her name /hɛərˈɒnɪm/, nor does Geronimo herself pronounce it that way. Or, we could imply include both (if there is no significant difference).
And as a sidenote, the article on Velasquez transcribes both her first and last name. A diehard editor (talk | edits) 01:44, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Sarah Geronimo's birth place

Dear RapMonstaXY, how did you know that Sarah Geronimo was not born in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines since there are no academic or high-quality secondary source available to support the claim. Can you explained why? Thank you in advance. 175.136.86.63 (talk) 05:23, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

@175.136.86.63: Sorry I cannot find a reliable news source that states Sarah G was born in Santa Cruz, Manila. RMXY (talkcontribs) 03:55, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Question regarding 2023–24 NBA season article

Hi RapMonstaXY (I agree, Spongebob Squarepants is great!).

I noticed that you removed the following notable occurrence from the article -> On December 25, 2023, Luka Dončić became the first player with at least 50 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals in a game. He posted 14 assists and 4 steals vs the Phoenix Suns.

Just wondering if this was a mistake? If not what was your reasoning for this?

I ask because Anthony Davis' record remains up which is essentially the same kind of record --> On December 30, 2023, Anthony Davis became the first player with at least 32 points, 7 assists, 17 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in a game. He had 33 points and 8 assists vs the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Not sure why we would have Luka's record off the article while Anthony's is still on the article. Please let me know. If I don't hear from you in a week, i'll assume it was a mistake, and put it back up. Thank you -- BeFriendlyGoodSir (talk) 00:56, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

@BeFriendlyGoodSir: From what I saw and reviewed, I don't think StatMuse is a reliable source. I'll just find a high-quality reliable source for the aforementioned notable occurrences. RMXY (talkcontribs) 01:09, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Okay. Doncic's record was established as a historic night. I see you also removed Damian Lillard's record which was sourced by ESPN, guessing you view the record as not worthy of being in notable occurrences -> On December 19, 2023, Damian Lillard became the 51st player to score 20,000 points.[1]

That's fine, just checking in, no worries. You don't have to put it back up. Thank you for clarifying. BeFriendlyGoodSir (talk) 02:24, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

February 2024

This notice is to let you know that I urge and advise you to refrain from making disruptive and unconstructive edits, especially to the articles I have worked on, and those that are in FA status per FA:OWN or any FA-class articles for that matter. Having seen your editing behavior and complete disregard of policies within the FA, GA or TFAR process leads me to believe that you are not here to contribute constructively. There is a certain attitude of utmost caution and attentiveness that should be observed in editing articles of FA or GA or higher class, as well as in participating in FA-related processes such as the TFAR. While your efforts are well-intentioned, you have not a slightest clue of certain expectations from editors. Please consider this as my first and only warning.

I've been nothing but supportive in every request or assistance you sought, but you have crossed the line with your foolish and ludicrous conduct at the expense of my work. I will not engage or respond to any requests coming from you from this point onwards. You clearly have so much to learn and while your contributions are commendable, it is rather lazy and subpar, and you have to put in the effort to learn and not take the easy road. As someone who has put an effort to improving Filipino articles, I'll see to it that those work put in by other editors remain untarnished and that any attempts from you to get things your way so easily, i.e. nominating unprepared articles, PR-ing articles you have not done a single contributions, will be scrutinized. Pseud 14 (talk) 03:11, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

I would like to apologize for all the mistakes I have done, especially in my recent contributions. I have been blocked from editing twice in 2021 (see here and here) for adding original research and unsourced and/or poorly sourced content. I am also considering on taking an indefinite break from editing on Wikipedia. I promise when I get back, I will make my contributions much better than ever. RMXY (talkcontribs) 03:21, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
I would like to point out that this is the second incident involving you making an unwarranted request on an article that I have worked on, more so those that are FA-class. First you deliberately nominate a FA at TFAR without consulting me or reviewing TFAR criteria for re-nomination (as an April Fools attempt!!), and then you request for a page protection increase on a FA when it was not necessary, citing an edit war, when in fact it does not constitute one per WP:3RR. Before you make any brazen edits, request or changes to any article for that matter, I would suggest getting yourself informed about what policies make them suited for such move. This is your final warning. Another attempt or editing behavior such as this involving these articles (esp Filipino articles), will merit an escalation at WP:ANI for user conduct. Pseud 14 (talk) 15:21, 9 February 2024 (UTC)
@Pseud 14: Leaving you a message on your talk page. RMXY (talkcontribs) 13:16, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Good article process

ScarletViolet, there are two major issues with Talk:Unified (concert)/GA1. The instructions for nominations clearly state that the nominator must be a significant contributor to the article; you have not made significant contributions to Unified (concert). Second, the nominator cannot also be the reviewer. Schazjmd (talk) 15:46, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

The nomination has been reverted, and a speedy deletion has been requested for the review page. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:57, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Unified (concert)

The article Unified (concert) you nominated as a good article has failed  ; see Talk:Unified (concert) for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. March 2024

This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Rachelle Ann Go, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Pseud 14 (talk) 14:08, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

I’m quite unsure if the repeated warnings [1] and the ANI escalation [2] didn’t come across as sufficient, but I was very clear that you are not to edit/revert, in any way, articles (Filipino-related or otherwise) that I am working on, because of your sheer lack of policy retentiveness and editing behavior. Please consider this as a final warning, for each instance of such behavior moving forward, I will bring this up to ANI, without any prior warning. Pseud 14 (talk) 14:11, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sarah Geronimo. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Multiple editors have now removed this link. Perhaps you should follow WP:BRD in order to find out why; the obligation to make a case for inclusion is on the part of the person adding material. I see multiple editors have removed and or revised other text you've added as well, which you've also been reverting to a preferred version. You should be opening up talkpage discussions, instead. Grandpallama (talk) 03:04, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

@Grandpallama: Already started the discussion. Please feel free to voice your opinion. Also page is already protected due to disruption. ScarletViolet (talkcontribs) 03:29, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
