What are you doing? Isarra (talk) 02:51, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

And what TFD was this? Perhaps I'm just missing something, but a lot of your edits seem rather odd, either not explained or with no apparent discussion before making sweeping changes. Not that one shouldn't be bold, and all, but when people cannot figure out what the buckets you're doing, that's a bit of a problem, so please, if I'm just missing something here, enlighten me.

Also, I couldn't help but notice the history of your talkpage... considered using your sandbox or other user subpages instead? That way your test edits would stay out of the way of discussion and threads wouldn't be lost. Isarra (talk) 02:59, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is the TFD I mentioned in the edit summary. -- SLV100 (talk) 03:12, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah, then you should link to the TFD in question in the edit summary when doing that, and mention why it's relevant - in this case, that you were moving a subpage of a merged template to the current title.
As for the CSD stuff, kindly stop that now and explain what you are doing with the lot of them; synchronising a one with another is not an appropriate explanation. Isarra (talk) 03:36, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Template:CSD subcategory header does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! I notice that you are doing a great deal of work standardizing templates and such. Please be sure to provide edit summaries, as it can be difficult to tell what your intentions are without them. Moving pages

edit

A heads-up - when you move a page like Portal:LGBT/WikiProjects and Things you can do, before requesting deletion of the redirect which is left behind you should click "What links here" (under "Toolbox" in the left margin) to see whether there are incoming links which need to be altered because they would otherwise be orphaned. Redirect pages (such as there were here) need to be edited to point to the new title. If there are many links from articles (not in this case) it's worth considering not deleting the new redirect, so that those references will still work. Please stop attempting to CSD#G6 redirects that you didn't create yourself. Also note that if a CSD tag is removed by another, it is not OK to re-add it, you must then go to an XfD. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 14:13, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Bedtime

edit

Your recent editing history at File:Bedtime.jpg shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. if you re-add your tag again you will be blocked for edit warring, so best to stop adding your speedy delete tag now. Narthex definition

edit

IMHO the definition should really include pre-Christian use, since it arose from paganism (see below).
the term and concept was previously used in other (non-architectural religious contexts such as ceremonial flogging and the space where that occurred.

As I am not an truly expert in this field may I ask you to consider something like:

NARTHEX - Proposed introduction

edit

Narthex is an essentially a secular entrance to a sacred space in both Pagan and Christian religions. Althoug now generally used in an architectural sense to mean a Church porch or antechamber it can also describe an event.

The word stems from narthex (Medieval Latin from Classical Greek narthex νάρθηξ meaning giant fennel which plant in mythology was used by Prometheus to convey sacred fire from heaven to earth[1].
Narthex as part of a religious building means the outer entrance or lobby area, typically for ritual purification of worshippers before entering the sacred hall or nave leading to the main altar
The narthex may be designated for use by casual visitors, unbelievers or excommunicated spectators of ceremonies. [citation needed]

Etymology

edit

Giant Fennel has many flowers and a hollow stem which so have been symbolic of worshippers gathering into a funnel in order to receive divine enlightenment[2]
Fennel contains aromatic ferulic acid and may have been used as a ceremonial scourge to be used in a place which bore its name.[3]
In modern Greek narthekas (νάρθηκας) no longer has this meaning and is either the porch of a church, as English, or the brace of a sprained wrist or sling of a broken arm.

Hello SLV100. Please stop tagging redirects for speedy deletion for this reason. Jackmcbarn (talk) 17:05, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. :) This isn't about to work any time soon, I'm afraid - AnomieBOT is very particular about the formatting of that page, and given that it's not a human, it's not likely to give up very easily. Instead you need to alter the transclusion of the {{edit protected}} template (or related template) that is causing AnomieBOT to create the listing. That way the change should stick.   Greetings. At least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been or will be reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

Please do not remove threads from archives, even if you initiated the thread yourself. WP:TPO does not permit this kind of removal. The time to delete them is long past, and it was when you had first created the thread but before anybody else had responded, and certainly before the thread had been archived.

Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Log/2012 May 1 is not eligible for WP:CSD#G6. It may seem to you that it was a "misplaced discussion", but it certainly was not "unambiguously created in error". As it concerns the misnumbering of the table of contents at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2012 May 1, it was on one of several possibilities for the most appropriate page (another appropriate page could have been Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion). --Redrose64 (talk) 09:14, 25 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ Redrose64: On WP:AN I added both comments. The originals were at WP:VPT. -- SLV100 (talk) 16:07, 25 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't matter who created the threads. The point is that somebody else had responded to them, so they were no longer yours to remove; and since they had both been archived, they became inviolate. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:43, 25 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Dot-Kaufen.jpg

The file File:Dot-Kaufen.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, superseded by File:Dot-Kaufen.png.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:29, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
