Your HighBeam account is ready! edit

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
  • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:58, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ashkkar Soudaan edit

The article Ashkkar Soudaan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Coverage does not meet WP:GNG, while the listed filmography is long, most of the Wikipedia articles for these films do not mention Soudaan, and those that do do not have enough sources to clearly demonstrate their own notability, leading me to doubt that WP:NACTOR has been met.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 21:46, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rosguill just check the Talk:Ashkkar_Soudaan once. If it not enough to the notability for an actor, you can delete it. Anyway he is one of the main film actors in Malayalam film industry, somebody will surely create another article here with proper criteria and references also. - Rajesh K Odayanchal (talk) 00:43, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Rajeshodayanchal. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GSS💬 16:52, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

As you said, I made this article is not having any relationship with him or not for an advertisement. Clearly there is evidence for the article, already given the same in Wikipedia. I have added the articles in English and Malayalam Wikipedias. This is not done by identifying individuals as in personal. Once I saw a film shooting and took some photos, I have only that much relation with him. What I found was that this article was deleted once while re-creating it. There is a lot of evidence, how can I rectify this? -Rajesh K Odayanchal (talk) 00:36, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
I know the rules and regulations, because for the last 10 years I am an active participant in Malayalam Wikipedia. See the ml:User:Rajeshodayanchal/Articles created in malayalam wikipedia. But I had got some issues from English Wikipedia while creating articles about the Falk arts of Kerala also. That is the main reason I not that much active in English Wiki   Rajesh K Odayanchal (talk) 01:26, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

David John (actor) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, David John (actor), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). please review WP:NACTOR, as the person must meet that criteria. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Joji John moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Joji John, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In addition, there appears to be a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Links to draft articles edit

  Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Joji (film). Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 09:36, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok, Thanks Arjayay for letting me know the process - Rajesh K Odayanchal (talk) 09:58, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Kaathal – The Core, you may be blocked from editing.
It was clearly explained, above, that you should not add links to draft articles, but you have continued doing so. Please stop - Arjayay (talk) 12:47, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jeraxmoira, I am not related to the person I write on the wiki. Not only the individual, but also the arts (folk arts). I can update only because the topics interest me and I have a lot of data in hand. I have been doing the same for Malayalam wiki for last 15 years. If I believe it to be true with solid evidence, I will update it on the wiki. This is the truth. First of all, thank you for informing me about Wikipedia's Terms and Rules. I am very sorry that you removed the data I added. Here you can see what I have added to the wiki as a paid promoter. Paid promoters can be blocked by IP address, which is also good for Wikipedia. - Rajesh K Odayanchal (talk) 13:44, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
How did you know Prasanth wrote the dialogues for "Velaikari irunthalum née en mohavalli"? The lead had a lot of puffery and some unsourced content. You need to cite a source for the content you are adding. Please see WP:OR and WP:V. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:03, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
