User talk:PuedaHacer/Archive 2020

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:13, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

I have been commissioned by Professor Sumantra Ray of Cambridge University to write two articles for him. One of the articles is on the organisation he founded, NNEdPro (The Need for Nutrition Education/Innovation Programme), and the other article is on himself.

I am not employed by NNEdPro. However, I will be paid for my work on this project. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PuedaHacer (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your transparency in disclosing your paid editing. Please be aware that any article you create for this individual must be supported by citations to multiple citations to reliable and independent sources to prove that they are notable enough for inclusion. It must also be written from a neutral point of view with no intent to emphasize any positive or negative aspects. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:25, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

PuedaHacer, this is a start but is not sufficient. WP:PAID requires that you provide links to your profiles on all sites such as Upwork, Freelancer.com etc. where you "advertise, solicit or obtain paid Wikipedia-editing services" so please do so before making any further edit to fully comply with the policy. Thank you. GSS💬 05:07, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
@PuedaHacer, are you sure you were hired by Professor Ray via email and not through a freelancing website? GSS💬 11:35, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

I communicate with Professor Ray via his private email address and Zoom. Please see my and his instruction below to Diannaa. PuedaHacer (talk) 22:51, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

@Drm310:, @GSS: given that this is the second time this editor has submitted a paid article after being directly emailed for their services in roughly a month I'd say this editor is likely advertising his services or working through a freelancing site. Best, GPL93 (talk) 02:08, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

I can assure you, GPL93, Drm310 and GSS, that I do not advertise my services or work through a freelancing site. I have friends and colleagues throughout the world and they may well have heard that I am a Wikipedia editor. I am a very busy person involved in a number of organisations but do enjoy working with Wikipedia. Therefore, where is the harm in being paid for my services? I have read your terms and conditions thoroughly and come from a purely neutral position with no bias for the subject matter. PuedaHacer (talk) 00:15, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello PuedaHacer, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Draft:NNEdPro and Draft:Sumantra Ray have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:21, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Professor Ray has requested me to ask you, Diannaa, to contact him directly on his email to inform him of what he needs to do in terms of Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. I will leave the details on your talk page. PuedaHacer (talk) 22:48, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of think tanks in the United Kingdom. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 08:57, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Corrado Galzio, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Format. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Proposed deletion of Wade Martin (Artist)

The article Wade Martin (Artist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional-type article, references are to Facebook or press releases. I am unable to find significant coverage in multiple reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 03:04, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

November 2020

Hello PuedaHacer. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Wade Martin (Artist), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:PuedaHacer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=PuedaHacer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ... discospinster talk 03:14, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

No, I am not receiving any payment. If I was I would disclose it as I have done previously. I am just interested in that genre of music. As you have pointed out, Wade Martin does not have sufficient secondary references and on reflection is not worthy of publication. I found a previous article about him and attempted to use it. I'll rather move on to more worthy topics. PuedaHacer (talk) 04:30, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

May I ask where the text of the article came from? Because it's awfully similar (nearly identical) to that Wade Martin article that was deleted two years ago. For example the section Early life and career in both articles reads:

As a teenager, Wade Martin was a performing artist and opened for bands like Guns N' Roses.[8] In addition he wrote, recorded and sung "A song for you" that cracked the U.S. top 40 in 2005.[6] He later took a hiatus from touring, and began focusing only on writing and recording music.[8]

. ... discospinster talk 16:32, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

My interest is in artists like Will.i.am, Nas and Britney Spears. The name Wade Martin appeared several times and I couldn't find a Wikipedia article about him. After some googling, his old article came up so I used it. Not a good idea! Sorry to have bothered you. 180.150.74.47 (talk) 20:21, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

You need to disclose who is paying you specifically for which article to avoid situations exactly like this and you need to link to the accounts where you advertise your services. Praxidicae (talk) 14:09, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your advice. I will certainly be doing this. PuedaHacer (talk) 05:33, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

You've still failed to adequately disclose. Where is the disclosure for Wade Martin? Praxidicae (talk) 15:48, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

What do I need to disclose? As stated previously (22 Nov 20), I did not receive any payment from Wade Martin. If I had received a payment then I would have disclosed it as I have done previously. I am just interested in that genre of music. Please see talk with discospinster above. PuedaHacer (talk) 00:17, 29 November 2020 (UTC)

Want to reconsider your statement or shall I send it to ArbCom? You've also never disclosed where you advertise either, which is required by the TOU. Praxidicae (talk) 00:50, 29 November 2020 (UTC)

I don't understand why you are threatening me. I am abiding by Wikipedia policy and procedures. I do not solicit work. My original payments were from people who got to hear about me. I won't take paid work because I am fully aware that paid editing is discouraged by the Wikipedia administrators. So stop intimidating me. I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia and I believe I am an asset. My contributions tell the story. PuedaHacer (talk) 02:11, 29 November 2020 (UTC)

Lol. Ok. Show me the threat. But you've still failed to adequately disclose. Would you like to link to your Freelancer account? Praxidicae (talk) 02:34, 29 November 2020 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Corrado Galzio (Italiano)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Corrado Galzio (Italiano). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Corrado Galzio. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Corrado Galzio. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. power~enwiki (π, ν) 01:47, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
