Proposed deletion of Gao Dalun

Hello, Phenolla. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Gao Dalun, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:13, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 31

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2018 Jiangsu Suning F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Li Ang and Wu Lei (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Phenolla, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Nanjing University of Science and Technology have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:41, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

  • OK, I'll pay attention to this. (Phenolla)

FYI

Regarding the incorrect flag on Yuhuatai District, the IP who added it is part of a long-term abuse case. But, since that particular IP only made one edit (and I likely was busy at the time, too), no one caught it. CaradhrasAiguo (leave language) 15:24, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:NJUST logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Speedy deletion nomination of Nanjing No.13 Middle School

Hello Phenolla,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nanjing No.13 Middle School for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about Nanjing No.13 Middle School

Hello, Phenolla,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Nanjing No.13 Middle School should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nanjing No.13 Middle School .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Education in Greece does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 14:21, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

You have been granted the "rollbacker" permission on the basis of your recent effort on dealing with vandalism. The rollback is a revert tool which can lessen the strains that normal javascripts such as Twinkle put on the Wikipedia servers. You will find that you will revert faster through the rollback than through the normal reversion tools such as javascripts and the undo feature, because the rollback feature does not require fetching the data from the page history and then sending article data back to the Wikipedia server as the javascript requires, therefore you could save time especially when reverting very large articles such as the George W. Bush page. To use it, simply click the link which should look like [rollback] (which should appear unbolded if you have twinkle installed) on the latest diff page. The rollback link will also appear on the history page beside the edit summary of the last edit. For more information, you may refer to this page, alternatively, you may also find this tutorial on rollback helpful.GABgab 23:02, 7 September 2018 (UTC)

You are now a pending changes reviewer!

Hi Phenolla! I've been running into you in recent changes patrolling and I happened to notice that you don't have the pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling, and you consistently view and undo vandalism and disruption to articles. I believe that this user right would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of the tool. Instead of having you formally request the pending changes reviewer right at WP:PERM, I just went ahead and just gave it to you. This user right allows you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes and either accept them to be published and viewable by the general public, or decline and revert them so that the pending changes are not published.

Keep in mind these things regarding the tool or when you're reviewing any pending changes:

  • The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
  • Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you additional "status" on Wikipedia nor does it changes how you can edit articles (obviously).
  • You'll generally want to accept pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself - especially those that are vandalism or have neutral point of view or BLP issues.

Useful guidelines and pages for you to read:

I'm sure you'll do fine with the reviewer rights - it's a pretty straight-forward tool and it doesn't drastically change the interface you're used to, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into any troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the user rights and accepting or reverting pending changes. If you no longer want the pending changes reviewer rights, contact me and I'll remove it. Thank you for helping to patrol recent changes and keep Wikipedia free of disruption and vandalism - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 11:34, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Warning user

Hi again! Thanks for reverting that removal of content by 51.148.59.145 to PowerPoint animation. I'm just messaging you because I saw that you didn't warn this user and I didn't know why. It looks like you usually warn users when you revert disruptive edits but for some reason didn't do so this time. Just curious and wanted to ask :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:00, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

I'll pay attention to this in the future. Thank you for reminding me:) —Phenolla ⚫️🔵 12:10, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
It might not have been something you did wrong or forgot to do (and I apologize if I implied this in any way). Huggle tends to skip leaving warnings for unexplained reasons at times... there is a new setting released with 3.4.4 that will have it skip leaving a warning if the user just received one less than a minute ago, but that wasn't the case here. Anyways, thanks. I was wondering if you might have purposefully chosen not to warn the user, which would explain why no warning was left (obviously). Since this wasn't the case, Huggle didn't do so. Cheers :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:56, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

I see you recently accepted a pending change to July 15. I looked for a source for this date of birth in Andra Martin that I could add to the DOY page and it was unsupported by any source there either.

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.

As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 19:33, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

@Umerjaved94: Thank you for your good faith edit, but the way you add an image was wrong. You should upload the image to Wikipedia server first, then cited the file name of the image in Wikipedia to that page. You can use this tool Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard to perform upload. But I suggest you discuss this problem with other experienced users in the talk page of that article first. —Phenolla ⚫️🔵 13:15, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Dennis Martin, Disappearance of Dennis Martin

As I noted in the edit summary, the "article" on the soccer player Dennis Martin is a substub. The only source is a fan blog. That's what you restored there. Have at it though, I'm way past trying to talk sense into regular Wikipedians at this point. --2A0A:A541:BBD1:0:D49D:7A6E:EAFA:F1BC (talk) 14:08, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

@2A0A:A541:BBD1:0:D49D:7A6E:EAFA:F1BC: Wikipedia automatically tagged that edit a bad edit, so I reverted it as I usually did before. But just now I've manually checked the pages you listed above, and I feel that you were doing the right thing. But anyway, redirecting a page to another one is a big edit. Hi, very much a mistake, yes. Nothing testing about it, two rather important facts were left out from the plot description and the characters. Check it out for yourself, if you please.

Checked. I've explained on your talk page. —Phenolla ⚫️🔵 14:58, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
I know of no internal links. I just added a few words in the main plot text and a bracketed text to one of the characters listed. No link, reference or anything similar was involved. Those two items are actually missing from the article: in the first case, there is a reference to "the Queen" without ever specifying what queen it's about, in the second case, the second identity of the actual murderer is left out. If you think there was a technical problem with the edit, you might want to re-instate it with the technical problems fixed, although I don't know what those technical problems might be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.134.205.248 (talk) 15:08, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

After I reported that IP vandalizer, I found that he has not been blocked in a short time, so I checked his talk page and found that a previous user directly gave him a level-4 final warning, without giving level 1–3 warnings before. It is also not helpful to bastardize the english language. There seems to be crazy far left agenda to replace pronouns with mass pronouns that make no sense. It creates unnecessary ambiguity and extremely confusing. Just because the person would prefer to be referred to as something else. ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Phenolla. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Hi, I made some changes to Palma (or Palma de Mallorca as it is still called on Wikipedia). You asked me to write something here if I believe that you undoing these is a mistake. I am not sure which quick edit I made, it might have had something to do with the official name being Palma, not Palma de Mallorca. Anyway I am sorry if this is not the ideal way of coomunicating, I make less than 5 corrections on Wikipedia a year only if I stumble upon something and would not bother to create an account but do these changes with best intent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.24.236.177 (talk) 16:35, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

There are still some results and you should modify them like personal numbers and thank you again for your cooperation Almbrek96 (talk) 15:22, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for reverting this obvious vandalism. Could you please remember to warn the vandalising user next time, as per WP:BEFOREBLOCK? The user looks like they are clearly WP:NOTHERE and it is enough to get them blocked, but administrators usually want to see some warnings before blocking. As per WP:WARNVAND – "Warning a user for vandalism is generally a prerequisite to administrator intervention. Because of this, users should be warned for each and every instance of vandalism". Best, Tymon.r Do you have any questions? 09:03, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

2A00:23C6:5D05:5201:6CEE:387A:E133:FF7B's edits

I watch the Greg Reid page, so I'm a little confused/curious--is there a reason you reverted some of 2A00's edits? they seem like perfectly valid short description additions? Alyo (chat·edits) 14:00, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

@Alyo: Sorry, I made a misoperation. Thank you for reminding me. —Phenolla  16:40, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

edit on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O%27Connor,_Australian_Capital_Territory

Hi Phenolla

I refer to your msg about removing our edit of O'Connor Dental Surgery. As we have edited first time in wikipedia, pls advice where we went wrong

We edited the O'Connor Suburb amenities to include Dentist (which has been there since 40 years and with us since 2012. perhaps I was incorrect in linking to our site. if this was the issue, I 'm happy to add without a link

Appreciate your feedback to satyaprasad@gmail.com or dentist@oconnordentalsurgery.com

thank you Prasad +61 0433079749

According to Wikipedia:External links, an external link normally should not be placed in the body of an article. All external links must conform to certain formatting restrictions. It's a better choice to add the links here.—Phenolla   09:46, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Explain

Sorry i remove the content without your permit and don't give any explanation I see you insert euphoric frenchcore right there. euphoric frenchcore is not on Hardstyle scene. Euphoric frenchcore is on hardcore techno scene. Thanks Rawstyleainx (talk) 18:07, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

@Rawstyleainx: Okay.—Phenolla   09:47, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
