Estonia at the 2022 Winter Olympics

Where do you think it should be explained why it appears that one quota is not being used?18abruce (talk) 14:07, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

@18abruce: In that article, below the section Estonia_at_the_2022_Winter_Olympics#Freestyle_skiing. But it doesnt even say how many quotas Estonia got. Freestyle skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Qualification is the only article where it says 2 quotas. Pelmeen10 (talk) 05:42, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Okay. Normally we notate it in the competitors breakdown (like in switzerland, or the us in 2018) but I don't think it matters. The point is that the FIS says that Estonia claimed 2 quotas, but they are both filled with one athlete. Should be explained, and it is notably unusual.18abruce (talk) 12:25, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Would you consider becoming a New Page Reviewer?

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hi Pelmeen10,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, (t · c) buidhe 17:37, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

An apology

Sorry for being overly biting in my comments towards you today. It was wrong of me and you didn't deserve it. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 18:54, 22 June 2022 (UTC)

ETC 2023

Sorry to not agree with your comment here. Portugal is not relegated but Ukraine will be in 2nd Division (no more Leagues in 2023). I will not revert your undoing but please try to rephrase and to give better info. Thanks again. Arorae (talk) 07:42, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

The whole 2021 Championship page reflects the promotion/relegation (Super League, 1st League, 2nd League, 3rd League) as it was planned back then. You only changed relegation of Super League with incomplete info. It would be better to mention the reformat in a way that the page wouldn't be only partially updated. Pelmeen10 (talk) 08:00, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Here you have ordered in alphabetical order the 16 countries, thanks for that, but the previous order was not alphabetical, but closer to the last edition's order. --Arorae (talk) 08:01, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Things have changed since 2021 and you cannot write that Portugal will be relegated when it will not. --Arorae (talk) 08:03, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Pelmeen10 (talk) 08:26, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Thanks 🙏 very much for your proposal.
I think that the same text (“should be relegated to…”) would be better than “Relegation to the 2023 First or Second League.
Do you know why Belgium is ahead of Norway in 2023?
Yours, Arorae (talk) 03:46, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
What about the text in the last column? The Norway-Belgium case is a mystery to me too. Is it possible that Belgium actually finished ahead of Norway? Maybe somebody got DQ later, a doping violation or whatever. Pelmeen10 (talk) 07:45, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
The text in the last column is right for me.
Some Norwegian athlete should have been disqualified since ETC? Maybe. Arorae (talk) 15:04, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

Medal tables

Adding ANA medals to the tables is unofficial, even if a discussion agreed to add them (due to the nationalism of some Russian supporters). It is not rationale to put them even when WA did not, because ANA is not a team, but only individual athletes with no flag and no anthem. I still do not agree with your recent edits on this topic. Arorae (talk) 15:02, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

It has nothing to do with nationalism. I remember when ANA came around, I don't even think anyone was against. I supported adding ANA to the medal table mostly because it sums up all distributed medals and shows the correct total numbers. Plus, under the table is note explaining ANA medals are not on official medal table. And you should always use your account, not IP - in some cases it could even lead to a block. Pelmeen10 (talk) 15:20, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
I always edit under my name user, Arorae, as I am connected with all wikis: thanks for threatening me of block me when you have probably no idea of my real IP, I saw your reply only today…--Arorae (talk) 10:02, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
I recently made these removals of ANA from medal tables, which you reverted. Are you accusing that user (Arorae) of being me? 88.114.108.233 (talk) 19:27, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
You said, "Plus, under the table is note explaining ANA medals are not on official medal table". This is incorrect, that text is missing from many pages. I am now adding those, because without that note, it seems as if wikipedia is showing the official medal table, when it is in fact not. 88.114.108.233 (talk) 19:29, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. Pelmeen10 (talk) 08:38, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

48

No Monaco, and of course no BLR and RUS. Imho Arorae (talk) 08:59, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

EAA has 51 members, didnt find LIE either. 51-4=47 Pelmeen10 (talk) 09:01, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
you're right, I was confused by BIH (on 2 lines on my screen): 15+16+16= 47. 2 options so: EAA wrote 48 contries but listed only 47. I thought I was the only one counting the countries since I was the user that added the 51st country, KOS, a few years ago. Thanks for this funny but inconclusive counting.--Arorae (talk) 09:58, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
I found it checking all the athletes, one by one, there will be an ART (ART GABRIYESOS) in the marathon. 51+1-4=48. EAA did not mistake.--Arorae (talk) 10:56, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Mclarenfan17/Prisonermonkeys

Does the third account have a focus on the formatting of tables of race results? Do they sometimes edit logged out?

I see that you and I were both previously involved as innocent parties in previous disputes that this editor was in.

Your WP:BOLD merge of 2022 Just Stop Oil central London blockade

Hello. I wanted to say that I do agree with the merge, but in the future, please check the articles history before doing a bold merge. The article was previously bold merged, which was reverted. That revert started the merge proposal, so really you shouldn’t have done the merge and let the proposal have more than two editors supporting it, especially with one of those two editors being the original bold merger. Elijahandskip (talk) 12:02, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

The article creator (you) reverted it. The real question would be why did you start 1 sentence article? Pelmeen10 (talk) 12:05, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Fbo-big

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Fbo-big requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2013_July_26#Template:Fbo-big. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – Jonesey95 (talk) 07:20, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

Withdraw WRC2 etc move

Hi, do you know how I withdraw the move requests on WRC2? The reasons and chat is far too verbose and technical to get a quick answer from anybody independent, so better to get those merge and splits sorted.

Do I just delete the proposals at the top of the article? Rally Wonk (talk) 13:44, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

No, you have to close the discussion with the outcome "withdrawn". Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions - read about Closing. In a short conclusion change the template above and write outcome. Pelmeen10 (talk) 13:57, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. Rally Wonk (talk) 14:28, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to 2022_in_sports, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Tantomile (talk) 22:13, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

What are you talking about? I'm splitting the page to 2022 in skiing just as proposed and done in previous years. Pelmeen10 (talk) 22:15, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
i missed the split message. Sorry, undoing my reverts now!!!! Tantomile (talk) 22:16, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

GGPoker review request

Hello, I noticed that you've been a contributor to the 2022 WSOP article, so you might have some relevant experience here. I'm looking for another set of eyes to provide some feedback on the Draft:GGPoker, and would welcome any critique you could offer. Full disclosure, I'm employed by GGPoker's parent company, but I've done my level best to ensure that the article meets Wikipedia's standards, and if there are any issues or places where it could be better I'd welcome the feedback. Anyway, thanks for your time! Chris H (GGPoker) (talk) 05:56, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

CFD templates

Just for future reference, when you're removing the CFD template from a category after the CFD discussion has been closed, it's not good form to "revert" the edit that added the template — revert is for things that were actually done wrongly, not for "the process was legitimate but has concluded with no change to this page, so this template doesn't have to be here anymore". In a case like the latter, you need to just remove the template rather than reverting the edit that added it in the first place — because one of the side-effects of reverting is that you strafed me with a barrage of 15 "your edit has been reverted" notifications that I didn't really need to see because it wasn't a mistake I needed to be corrected on. So in future, please save reverts for "this was done wrong and never should have happened in the first place", and deal with normal conclusions of normal process by just removing the template rather than by reverting it. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 18:30, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

Draftifying articles at AfD

Please do not draftify an article that is currently listed for discussion at WP:AfD, as you did with List of Surinamese records in track cycling. Per WP:AFDTODRAFT, this should be avoided. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:33, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Pelmeen10,
I came here to say the same thing. If you believe this article should be retained to go to the AFD and present your argument. Just a thought though, you state that this article was in the process of being updated but it is not newly created, it's been around for 10 years. It's surprising that it's basically gone unnoticed up until now. Liz Read! Talk! 21:47, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
