Renaming article ti Tulu Script Reasons :Tulu alphabet is a southern Brahmic alphabet derived from Grantha. The Wikipedia says this script under the name Tigalari script. As I’m a user of this script, the correct name of the script is Tulu not Tigalari. According to the scholar, manuscriptolist and Historian Dr. Keladi Gunda Jois the correct name of the script is Tulu. The main language of the script is Tulu &Sanskrit.Out of thousands of Manuscripts, very few works are in Tulu language. A script need not have the same name of the language(s) used. All academic institutions like National Manuscript Mission , French institute of Pondicherry , Oriental research Institute, Mysore etc refer the script as Tulu .Even Tulu academy, official organization for promoting Tulu language gives clarification saying- ತುಳುವಿಗೆ ‘ತುಳು’ ಲಿಪಿಯನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ತಾಳೆಗರಿಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ದೊರೆತಿವೆ ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ಹಲವಾರು ವೈದಿಕ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಲೂ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿವೆ( Tulu script was used to write Tulu language.) Devarakonda Reddy in his article Development and origin of script says (Many manuscripts have been found in Malnad region of Karnataka where the script is called Tulu script. http://kanaja.in/archives/9027) Tigalari is a recent name given by scholars based on the Region after few manuscripts were discovered few decades ago. According to the native users and scholars and manuscriptologists ,the name of script is Tulu, not Tigalari. Even I have contacted native users and Scholars personally and clarified on the nomenclature of the script. Details can be given ,if needed. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 11:13, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why are you copy pasting this comment here but just replacing Tigalari with Tulu? Am I supposed to reply seriously to that? --Glennznl (talk) 12:24, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

That what i supposed to tell you . It is origianlly known as tulu script not tigalari. Some people made changed the name to tigalari ro mislead people who are reviving this script even iam one of them.dont argue simply if you dont have knowledge about this. Why you not objected when this article name changed from tulu to tigalri. How can you sure that it is tigalari. When this page started that time this article named as tulu script not tigalari. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 16:43, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

That is not comment he made. He just copy pasted that article replacing tulu with tigalari. What I commented it is the original article. Thats why I want to rename this article to original name the ie Tulu script. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 17:00, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Unicode seems to be using the name Tigalari script, which seems to be an older and more neutral name than Tulu script. I see no reason to change it right now without any more sources. I also advise you not to move the page name again, because you might be banned from Wikipedia for WP:DE. Glennznl (talk) 18:53, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use edit summaries that are misleading, intentionally or not, as you did at Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), you may be blocked from editing. Iam not done it by intention. I just referred pakistan administered kashmir article on wikipedia and In that article it is written as "country" not "administered by" so i did it by referring this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azad_Kashmir

Iam the user of this script. And it is called tulu script. There is another variant called tigalari which different than tulu script. I don't know why you acting like a expert if you don't anything. Even you are reverted my contribution in Tulu language page citing unsourced. Even I putted proper source link. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 17:29, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

create separate page for tulu script. Because it solve the conflict in the articles. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 17:32, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Unicode does not agree. Please provide academic sources to back up your claims. --Glennznl (talk) 21:19, 21 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

See the latest unicode proposal it state the Tulu ,tigalari and Malayalam are different script from the same source which is grantha. Tulu script is used in Tulunad or undivided south Canara and tigalari is is used in North Canara but its usage is limited. There is less difference in these script ie.tulu script and tigalari script. Even unicode not agreed the term tigalari as a common name for this script. So it is recommended Tulu-Tigalari script as the common name for this combined script. I think at least the title should be renamed to Tulu-Tigalari script. It will good solution for this. Mr anonymousMr (talk) 15:44, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.  Fowler&fowler«Talk» 12:34, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Tigalari script into Tulu script. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 15:25, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mr anonymousMr! Your additions to Tulu script have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:44, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
