Undiscussed move contrary to recent RM consensus

edit

Hello. Your (apparently undiscussed) moves of MNM (wrestling) seem to be contrary to the consensus established in a recent requested move discussion (see Talk:MNM (wrestling)). I see that you are also moving a lot of other pages. I suggest that those moves may not be appropriate. One problem that I see with some of those moves is that you have often removed the clarifying word "wrestling" from titles – resulting in titles that make it unclear to the reader what is the subject of the article. For example, the title "MNM (stable)" does not indicate that it is about wrestling. To most people, a "stable" is a place to house horses. —BarrelProof (talk) 20:16, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

That move has been reverted. I also just submitted a set of technical requests (please see this page version to revert some of the other moves that removed "wrestling" from titles. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:46, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexander Rusev

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Alexander Rusev, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Triplestop (talk) 05:57, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I don't think this photo you uploaded has the correct licence. It's not cc-by-sa, it's actually cc-noncommercial-sa, which is not valid for Commons at least, not sure if for en.wiki. It's a great find and more photos from that set can be used in the PPV's article, so I was wondering if you could contact the photographer to request a change of license to cc-by-sa. starship.paint (talk | contribs) 09:19, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:DiscoInfernoApril2008.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:DiscoInfernoApril2008.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:04, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Starship.paint, here is the quote. I've added it to the article reference. McPhail (talk) 22:06, 11 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Since I came back in 2007 with my new finish of the Codebreaker, I wanted to come back in 2012 with a new move as well. I had the idea of doing a sliding forearm to the face and calling it Apocalypse Now. I practiced the move a dozen times with Lance, making tweaks along the way. It looked badass and I was excited to start using it as soon as I returned. [...] I actually only used the move once, during a match with Kofi Kingston in Dubai. But I decided I didn't have the time or the patience to get it over and I gave up on it after a few weeks."

4 lost US title reigns

edit

I found 4 errors in the United States title history on wwe.com Firstly, Paul Jones' 2nd reign ended November 28, 1976. That is recognized when clicking on the specific reign. But when clicking at the reign by Blackjack Mulligan, it states December 15. According to every wrestling site, Paul Jones is a 3-time US champ and there was no vacancy or anything to explain the gap between November 28 and December 15, so I think WWE forgot the 2 title changes between Paul and Blackjack. Same thing happened in 1980 with Greg Valentine, where they didn't recognize a 4-month title reign, beginning on July 26, which is the date where Flair lost his title according to wwe.com So in the end, these are 4 missing reigns.

Do you know anything about this? Do you think they forgot to add them? Do you know how to contact them to fix it? WrestlingLegendAS (talk) 11:48, 24 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

WrestlingLegendAS, I'm not sure about WWE.com, sorry. If there are reliable sources that the WWE information is wrong then of course we shouldn't include it on Wikipedia. McPhail (talk) 18:16, 24 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Currently, Wikipedia does include these 4 lost reigns, and rightfully so. I just hope that in the future nobody just copy pastes wwe.com and gets rid of these 4 forgotten reigns. WrestlingLegendAS (talk) 22:20, 24 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

IC

edit

Hi. Talking about unofficial reigns. An IP is adding Bob Holly as IC Champion. Can you help us? According to WWE.com and other sources, Holly won a match against Jeff Jarrett, but the referee saw jarrett's foot under the ring rope and reversed the decision and declared the title vacant. (http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/columns/misc/danclark01.html) That means, Holly never won the title, nor official or unofficial. WWE.com never mention Holly as IC champion (not even in WWF.com in 2001). However, the IP says WWF used to recognized Holly as IC Champion. Only source he gave me, http://slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling/Bios/holly-hardcore.html . I know the match happened, but I think it's a reversed decision, like Jericho as WWE Champion or RVD as WWE Champion. What do you think? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:31, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hercules Cortez

edit

The article Hercules Cortez has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ivan - I am the one who added the edits about Tito Santana in the lead, and the part about his first stint in IWCCW back in 1991. Wikipedia emailed me and thanked me for my edits. Santana did wrestle for IWCCW back in 1991 and I left a good reference. I have references for the edits that I left, and I wouldn't of left the info if it was not accurate. I have restored my edits, but I have also left the stuff you added about santana in the lead as well. I don't think there was any reason for deleting the edit that I left about Santana's first stint in IWCCW back in 1991 or the edits in the lead.

Ivan- I have taken the part you deleted in the tito santana aticle about WresttleMaina, and merged it with the El Matador edit. I have changed some things and added in new stuff. It is now called El Matador and Wrestlemaia legacy. Why did you delete it?
